The HQ was quiet in the early morning hours. Typically only the most diligent Rockets were up at this hour if they were not required to be. For Asch, it allowed some quiet time where he didn't have to fight others for the resources in the base. Granted, he much rather be sleeping, but there were important things to be looking into.
After his typical exercise routine, which involved sword practice, his intention was to swing by the cafeteria for some food before going on to do some research. A long, sheathed blade hung at his left side as the red head walked the halls into the common areas of the HQ. It wasn't unusual for him to get a few odd glances here and there for toting around what many considered an archaic weapon. Frankly he didn't care what they thought.
Beside him trotted along a little Zorua. Tyke being content to walk along with his master rather than ride on his shoulders this morning. Of course, that meant that he had to keep pace with the longer strides of the human. Asch didn't have the patience to continually wait on his little friend to keep up with him.

Xander didn't even bat an eye at being up this early in the day, he was used to his dreams waking him all hours of the night. He didn't have anything in particular that had do be done that morning, as his shift didn't happen until later around noon, so he was just wandering the halls. Stretched out across his shoulders was Angel, the only one of his pokemon awake. As he walked he pulled out his 'dex and started to idly go through all of the apps, though he did pay attention to where he was walking, not wanting to run into anyone or anything.
Xander had noticed that his feet were taking him in a round about direction to the kitchens like how he usually ended up after a dream. He let out a quiet chuckle, remembering one time having done the same and having to stop a certain pyro from burning the kitchen down.
Angel purred in response to her partners chuckle and wrapped her tail around his right arm. She was still relatively new to his team but already had picked up on his odd wanderings.

The heavy steps of boots sounded across the tiles as Asch strode into the currently empty cafeteria. The morning kitchen crew hadn't quite arrived yet, but they would probably be due within the hour or so. Making his way into the back, Asch effortlessly flipped on a light, having already made himself familiar with the place.
Tyke followed in curiously, glancing around as his master started pulling food items out of the stores that were available to most Rockets. It wasn't long before he had some ingredients mixed up and the Zorua at his feet was practically drooling with anticipation. The red head glanced down at the Pokemon which turned big green eyes up at him.
"Hmph. This isn't for you," he told Tyke flatly, drawing a disappointed whine from the Zorua. Turning to a waffle iron, which he had already started heating, Asch dumped the batter inside and closed the lid.

It was interesting to find someone in the kitchens so early or was least slightly so. Xander had spotted the lights on as he walked in and curiously headed toward them. He blinked when he saw a man he remembered from the party busy making something. the teen lightly knocked on the kitchen door frame as a slight warning that he was there before he spoke. "Good morning. Up early or just getting off third shift?" he greeted with a small smile.
Angel peered down at the little Zorua with interest but didn't move from her human. She would wait to see if the other pokemon had interest in trying to get her human's attention before she did anything. She purred and nuzzled Xander's cheek while watching the little fox.

Hearing a knock, Asch glanced up from the waffle iron to see another Rocket joining him in the kitchen. He didn't know the guy, and thus didn't bother being too friendly with him. "I'm usually up early," he replied, before leaving the waffle iron to do its thing while going about the kitchen some more and pulling out more ingredients. This time from the stores of Pokemon food.
Tyke just blinked up at Angel and Xander, tilting his head curiously. However, his attention quickly went back to his master as he started rummaging around again. The Zorua again had a hopeful expression on his face as Asch started to mix more ingredients together in a pot on a stove top burner. Some Wiki berries were thrown into the mix as he stirred while the oven was set to preheat as well.

Xander nodded at the other mans statement. "I see. A good habit to have." he agreed then moved over to the cabinets with the human consumable ingredients. Normally he would have started on the pokefood first but he didn't want to get into Asch's way. He pulled out enough ingredients for a two person meal that would consist of biscuits, sausage patties and hash-browns, leaving the jam and the yogurt in the fridge to worry about later. He busied his self with preparation first and quietly talked to Angel every so often, trying to keep his voice down to not disturb the other man so much. "Up to a surprise visit to Frost this morning Ange'?" he asked and she purred happily in response. So far Frost and his pokemon were the only ones she wasn't bothered with sharing Xander's attention besides the teens other pokemon.
"Have you been in HQ for long?" Xander asked Asch once he was done with his prep work and started on the actual cooking, figuring he would try to start up a light conversation to pass the time. After all one could only talk to pokemon for so long and be fine with one sided talks when there was another human in the room. "I remember seeing you at the party but other then that I don't recall any other occasion. Not that, that is saying much as it is a big HQ."

"No, I'm a recent transfer from Orre," Asch replied stoically to Xander's question while taking the pot off the burner. The blue colored batter was then poured into a pan of Poffin shaped molds as the oven continued to warm up. Now Tyke was really getting excited as he could smell and see what was going on. He knew what Asch was doing and excitedly jumped up onto the table.
"Tyke! Get down!" the redhead barked at his Pokemon who folded his ears back but quickly obeyed. The Zorua knew better, but he was just so excited! Instead he started bounding around Asch's feet, weaving between his legs as the boy moved to slip the tray into the oven.
Asch then glanced at Xander with a soft frown, remembering the party that he hadn't intended on showing up to. He just happened to be at the right, or wrong, place at the right time. He didn't really recall seeing this guy, but Asch did tend to stick out so it wasn't surprising that he was remembered.

"Ah I see. What is Orre like?" Xander asked, curious as he had never been out of the region. He had heard bits and pieces of what other places were like but nothing solid so maybe the agent wouldn't mind sharing a few descriptions or something. Of course that would be if the so far quiet teen wanted to talk, something Xander wasn't completely sure would happen since he didn't know him. He glanced over when the Zorua got scowled at before looking back to the food he was cooking.
Angel stared at the hyper pokemon and she swayed the tip of her tail slightly in amusement. ~You know, bouncing wont make the food come faster~ she told him with a purr.

"It's very remote and spread out, sparsely populated." Asch replied as he turned on the timer to the oven. It wasn't an unpleasant place, and he kind of enjoyed the quiet simplicity of the region. Perhaps one of these days he might go back.
With a sway of his hair, Asch turned around and moved over to a table to lean against it, waiting for things to cook. His arms folded across his chest, his gaze turned to the waffle iron. It wouldn't take long before that thing was done.
Tyke though, stood up on his hide legs and braced his front paws against the door of the oven to look through the little window at the baking poffins. Angel's voice caused his head to turn and look at her with a blink. "" This said with a wave of his fluffy tail.

"The entire region was like that?" Xander asked with curiosity coloring his voice. It was very hard to imagine a place as remote and spread apart that Asch was making it out to be. He knew the region was bigger then this one but he had always figured that just meant more towns then more distance between them. "Usually people migrate to area's that have a lot of room to grow." At least that was what he had heard at school a few years back. He started up the cooking process for the food then slipped over to the cabinet with the pokefood and picked the stuff he needed out.
Angel moved so she sat straight on Xander's shoulder and gave Tyke an amused and haughty look. She flicked her tail slightly and chuckled.
