Marc was looking around the empty classroom. It wasn't everyday ha got to take the time to enjoy the decorating skills of the divination teacher. He had butterflies in his stomach. he was going to ask a girl, he didn't really like, to be his girlfriend.
Well that wasn't completely true... He was going to ask Violet, one of his good friends, to help brake up Von and Kennedy. The only way he could think of to do that... was to go through her best friend... The note he had sent to Vi told her to meet him here at exactly one oclock...
He glanced at the clock. Two minutes. He shifted the flowers, he had flown in, in his hands. The owl that had carried the purple roses sat on the table behind him.
One minute.... He shifted going over just what he would say to her when she came in.

Violet was walking down the halls of Hogworts on the way to the divination classroom. Marc had acted strange and handed her a note saying he wanted her to meet him there. She had no idea what he could possibly want. She had no time to wonder either. All she could think about was Von and Kenndy. She did not like him at all. He was taking away her best friend....just on that thought she had reached the outside of the classroom. She busted in the classroom to see Marc looking at the clock.
"Hello Marc. You have somewhere important you need to be?"

Marc startled slightly. "N-no...no where important."
He shifted uncomfortably and then remembered the flowers."O-oh i got these for you... I had them flown in from Scotland... They are Scottish bluebells. " He handed over the purple bluebells. He ran ahand through his hair and then tried to focus on the task at hand. "Hey Vi...I was wondering... Would... would you like to... uh... go out .... with me?"

Violet looked down at the beautiful flowers and took them from Marc. She bent down to smell the beautiful things. They smelled so divine. Vi was so into the flowers that she almost did not here him talking to her. She was so stunned over what Marc just asked. She had to be hearing things.This halluncinationg was starting to turn into a trend.
"I am so sorry Marc. I thought you said something....silly! What did you say again? These flowers were so pretty I was distracted."
Violet looked up at Marc expectantly.

Marc swallowed. Damn, he would have to re state his proposition... He forced a smile. "I'm glade you like the flowers." He reached out and took her hand. "Miss Violet Doyle, I would like to ask you to be my girlfriend."
He was surprised it had come out so easily. Maybe the thought didn't upset him as much as he thought it would.

Violet could not believe what she was hearing. Marc was asking her..to go out? This all had to be a joke. How mean could Marc be! She knew he had a crush on Von. How could he like her too? "Marc if this is a joke it is not funny!" She immediately yanked her hand away from him.

Marc frowned. "Its... Its not a joke... I...I want to go out with you Vi... "He had no explanation but the truth and he sighed. "I do like you Vi... I wouldn't have asked you if i didn't..." Grinning he took back her hand. "Violet. I want you as my girlfriend."

Violet was stunned. Marc must really move on fast. Could he really like her? Why was she asking questions?! She slung herself on him and hug him tight. "Of course I will be your girlfriend! But I don't understand, I thought you liked Von? Are you over her this quickly?"

He hesitated only a fraction of a second before tightening his arms about her. "You want honesty right, No... Im not completely over her... but i know i liked you... so, here i am." He gave a small smile. "
Im hoping you can help me get completely over her..." This may not of been the whole truth but it had some truth to it.

Vi could not believe it! Marc had asked her out! Did she finally have a boyfriend? Then she wondered what Big Papa would say. He was not pure...But who cares! It wasn't THAT big of a deal. But...Vi felt as though she was taking advantage of him while he was sad. She knew when she was sad that she loved to shop more then usual. She really took advantage of Papa's money then.
"Are you sure you want to do this? I don't want you to dump me tommorow cause you really didn't want to.I cross my heart it won't make me sad if you tell me now. I mean I will be a little sad but not THAT sad. Not sad like the time my baby pony broke it's leg." Violet looked at Marc with a serious look and wide eyes. " I was SOOO scared Marc. He was in so much pain. Do you have horses Marc? Well, I am sure that you do. Who doesn't have horses. Of course you understand how I felt! Anyway I was really really sad. You understand Marc?" Violet bated her eyelashes slowly as she waited for him to answer.

Marc watched a parade of emotions cross his new girlfriend's face. He stood there quiet waiting for his moment to answer her question. Her tirade made him smile though. This is what he needed. Did he need her as a girlfriend? Probably not, aside from his major plan... Did he need more time around her?... hell yeah. She made him smile... even when he was sad.
"As sure as i have ever been... I won't dump you... not tomorrow or the next day... I want to be happy... you make me happy... so... i say lets go together... and i will be happy." That all sounded very selfish. "Unless this isn't what you wanted.... " He frowned slightly. "I want you to be happy too."

Vi thought for a little bit. "Yea I want to do this! Sounds fun! I mean we can eat at the lake together and do fun things together. We are still friends...just more! You know?" Vi hugged Marc real tight. " Oh! We need to tell Von! She will be mad if she doesn't know first." Violet took Marc's hand and started walking towards the door.

Marc hesitated. He had hugged her back and now she was pulling him along... "How about." He pulled back."We wait til tomorrow." He was nervous to tell Von... Not that he was worried she would take the news badly... but that she would be happy for them. "We can tell her tomorrow morning... It is getting late and i don't want to be late for curfew...again." He gave a playful smile..." I will sit with you guys tomorrow."

Violet was momentarily confused but quickly shook it off. "Ok! I...I can't wait to see you tommorow Marc. I guess I should be headed to the commons room as well." Violet gave Marc one final hug. "Bye Marc. I will see you tomorrow." Violet walked out the door as happy as could be.

Marc grinned watching her leave. Shaking his head, he headed the opposite way to the hufflepuff basement. Tomorrow would be an adventure.
