Personality:

Ishtar Elms is a very bright, opinionated and confident young girl. This self assurance and strength is credited solely to her upbringing and the manner in which her parents tended to her. It is through their influence that she has become the girl she is today, with a strong sense of conviction and a lifelong ambition to become one of the Ars Lilium and follow in her father's footsteps in maintaining peace and harmony in the city.

Loyal and with a rather dry sense of humour, she is often regarded as a trusted friend by those who haven't done something to disappoint her. Quick witted, and sharp tongued, she would be the first to leap to the defence of one of her friends so long as she genuinely believed they were in the right. However, if they are discovered to have lied or deliberately provoked another without incredibly good reason then she is likely to turn upon them. As a direct result of this, some who haven't known her for a long period of time, might regard her as flighty. That being said, if you tow the line then she'll stick by you until the very end.

However, unlike her parents there are some considerable differences in her psyche, the primary difference being her much more overzealous nature than that of her father! She has a considerable lack of tolerance for those who deliberately breach the peace and on occasions, considers the Cerberus Knight stance to be too 'soft'. While she has been raised in the knowledge that rules are meant to be followed, she is of the view that sometimes they can be deviated from - in this respect she believes that in some cases, the end justifies the means.

With an awareness of just how disciplined the Cerberus Knights are, she has set her goals elsewhere so that she might walk a precarious path between 'light' and 'dark'. This may seem a touch hypocritical in relation to her view that all must 'tow the line' until you give her the opportunity to explain the logic behind her stance. With the Cerberus Knights bound by rule, law and duty, the role of an Ars Lilium is more obscure. In a war against those who would threaten the sanctity of the city sometimes one must delve into depths that shouldn't necessarily be tread. A Knight wouldn't dream of such an act but Ishtar? She would pursue the option if it secured success, increased security and the continuity of harmony in the city.

However, any seen to be using it for foul and unjust means would find themselves in a great deal of trouble. Rules may be ignored to maintain security and harmony if it is absolute necessary, but they must be followed in every other way.

An overall sense of this little witchling? So long as there is peace then there is no need to delve into questionable depths, but try her patience or place the sanctity of her home in jeopardy and she will use any means to stop it. Regardless of whether or not you are her friend or her foe, her underlying goal will always be to secure the city in the same way as her father and she won't allow anyone to stand in her way!

Nevertheless, in the face of a harmonious land she is a benevolent being, if a little opinionated to the point that she can become fairly exasperating.


Strengths:

1. Decisive:-
Ishtar is not easily swayed by multiple options; she'll locate the most viable of the bunch and pursue it based on a number of factors. Whether this be based on logic or instinct, the fact still remains that she makes her call quickly and sticks by it.

2. Confident/Self Assured:-
Both a blessing and a curse, this quality ensures that she is difficult to cow in the face of adversary. She will never allow those she disagrees with to continue with their activities, even if it will cause an immediate conflict.

3. Supportive:-
If you happen to be graced with Ishtar's friendship she is one of the more supportive individuals you may be inclined to encounter. Whether it be emotional, physical or otherwise, this little witchling can be relief on for many things. There is only one condition to acquiring this support; you have to tow the line and ensure that what you intend to do doesn't disrupt the balance and harmony of the city - if you do? Well, then that's a little different...

4. Loyal:-
Tow the line and give her time... Once Ishtar is accustomed to your presence then she is guaranteed to be a valuable friend. Fiercely loyal, she will support her companions 'til the very end on the condition that they have good reason for their actions.

Weaknesses:

1. Confident/Self Assured:-

2. Decisive, bordering on Ruthless:-
There may come a time when there is someone or something that breaks the mould and threatens the sanctity of the city. As a young withcling raised by a Cerberus Knight, her stance on this is very clear. Young as she might be, she isn't against acting on her own (a foolish option in certain situations) and will take any measure to dispose of the threat even if it isn't considered 'strictly legal'. Due to this fact, she can be fairly ruthless in her decisions, though this generally only creeps up in the face of adversary.

3. Intolerance:-
In Ishtar's world you MUST tow the line and if you don't then you will be dealt with. Even if you were regarded as her friend, one slip up could make her overreact unless you manage to get a word in first to explain, and even then, the explanation better be good! Her lack of tolerance can lead to many misunderstandings and might lose her a friend or two. Her intentions are good, but her methods of pursuing these aren't necessarily as appropriate as she might believe them to be.



History:

As the child of a recognised Witch and and a Cerberus Knight, Ishtar was raised in a loving environment but under very firm views and strict beliefs. With a father who took his duty to the kingdom very seriously, she was raised in the belief that the security of every witch was paramount - whether it be from external forces who simply didn't understand them, or from internal forces which had somehow breached the defences. The law was to be upheld, they were not simply 'guidelines' and as a result, Ishtar was under no illusions that there was no 'grey areas'. If these laws were broken there would be consequences and as such, she shouldn't ever take that risk.

Alas, when it was confirmed that she showed signs of ample magic within her blood (a proud moment for her parents to be sure), she was sent to the Academy in the hopes that she might become as skilled and competant in the arts as her parents. There was of course an underlying assumption that she would follow the path her father had walked and become a Cerberus Knight, but one can never be so certain of these things...

A quick explanation of magic types as mentioned in the report card.


Abjuration:
This school is focused on protective spells, as well as spells which cancel or interfere with other spells, magical effects or supernatural abilities.

Transmutation:
Spells in this school alter the properties of their targets. This comes in the form of increased strength, intellect, speed boosts and so on.

Conjuration:
Conjuration is divided into five subschools: calling (spells which physically transporting extraplanar creatures to the caster, as well as granting them the ability to return to where they were called from), creation, healing, summoning (teleporting objects to the caster's location and / or causing creatures to physically manifest at the caster's location) and teleportation (instantly transporting creatures and / or objects).

Divination:
This school is focused on acquiring information. Divination has one subschool: scrying, spells within the scrying subschool create invisible magical sensors which provide the caster with information, these sensors can be detected and dispelled.

Enchantment:
Enchantment spells are mind-affecting and Enchantment is divided into two subschools: compulsion and charm. Charm spells, affect the targets' attitudes, usually making them act more favorably toward the caster. Compulsion spells, can force the targets' to act in a certain way or avoid certain actions, affect the targets' emotions or affect the targets' minds in other ways. The Compulsion subschool also includes buffs.

Evocation:
Evocation is focused on damaging energy-based spells - It also includes conjurations of magical energy.

Illusionary:
Illusionary is divided into five subschools: figment, glamer, pattern, phantasm and shadow. Figment spells create artificial sensations with no physical substance. Glamer spells alter the target's sensory properties, and can cause invisibility. Pattern spells create insubstantial images which affect the minds of the viewers, pattern spells can inflict harm. Phantasm spells create hallucinations which can be harmful. Shadow spells use magical shadows to create things with physical substance.

Friends:
She needs friends, acquaintances and study buddies for school and her social life. If you have a Witchling (or even an slumbering Majin) who would like to socialise with her then give me a shout. Extended plots could be totally discussed depending on the chemistry of all the characters involved.

Enemies/Rivals:
Self explanatory, in every teenage girl's life there will always be people that she just doesn't like or get along with. I'm looking for rivals/enemies in school and in her social life. In addition, I'm also open to her developing a genuine and extended adversary in the form of a majin though no serious conflicts etc would occur until she was a graduated Witch or above.

A Tutor:
Let's be honest, certain elements of her report card indicate that she needs to put serious work into particular subjects! I'm looking for a variety of tutors for her, whether they be hired by her parents or they simply offer to help her out in the name of friendship.

Ars Lilium:
Ishtar is exceptionally ambitious and while she has elected to pursue her father's path to a certain point, she has already dismissed the Cerberus Knights as a viable option. Instead, she has set her sights on becoming one of the Ars Lilium (one bound by honour, but not immediately accountable to anyone). Determined to uphold peace and harmony at all costs, she is perhaps more overzealous than either of her parents had intended. However, overtime, she will develop the opinion that some rules must be broken to uphold the peace and as a consequence, she intends to branch out into that 'grey area' that her father claims to be non-existant.

While her heart is in the right place and she aspires to keep her fellow witches safe, she may elect to use more questionable means to ensure that things remain as they are. She will never fully walk the line of a dark witch, such things are simply not her way, but she might turn a blind eye to the more immoral acts if their ultimate result is the additional security of the kingdom. However, place the peace and security of her fellow witches in jeopardy and she will be as unforgiving and vicious as any dark witch.

Peace and harmony must be maintained at all costs.

Thus it is with all this in mind that she will ultimately seek to become a Sage, specialising in the arts she deems necessary to continue with these aspirations. A long journey lies ahead of her, but with enough work, it isn't entirely impossible.

Personality:
Orpheus is one of the noble order of Cerberus Knights and as a result, exudes an aura of discipline and confidence. Bound by his duty, he is a complete stickler for the rules and can often be accused of being inflexible if even the smallest of these is broken. While this is true in a general sense, the man is not without compassion and while he might arrest an individual for a small demeanour, he will seek to clarify the reasons behind the more petty crimes. Should it be warranted, he has been known to encourage a lighter sentence but he will never allow another to escape – if you break the law, you must serve your time.

Alas, he is quite the family man and positively dotes on both his wife and his young daughter. While he is greatly entertained by his wife and her antics, he seeks to educate his daughter in all he knows and has high hopes that she will one day pursue the role of Cerberus Knight for herself. He openly encourages her to interact with others but expects her to tow the line and follow the rule of law exactly as it is stated. Consider him to be much the same as a cop, he’d like his daughter to have her fun and is more than welcoming of her friends, but if they cause any disruptions or civil unrest then they’ll be in serious trouble!

Personality:
Alessa is a woman with an impish sense of humour and a love for life. Bubbly, exuberant and considered by most to be eccentric in the neighbourhood, it wouldn’t be unusual to find her blowing up her own kitchen (unintentionally of course)! She is the archetypal excitable mother who enjoys nothing more that hearing the gossip that her child brings home and a really good shopping spree. Most would argue that it’s her benevolence and relaxed nature that keep both her daughter and her husband level, reining in the potential of both to become overly zealous and problematic.

A neutral individual, she would wish no harm on anyone and tends to believe quite heavily in karma. If you’re pleasant to another individual, they will return the favour. That being said she is not completely naive to the threats that exist in the city, she simply prefers to think positively and hope that most of those risks will be dealt with by the appropriate authorities, including her husband.
