_Clairvere Sounds like: 'Claire' + 'Vair'. Like 'Fair' but with a 'V' "Clarity" + "Verity" + Souru's weirdness = Clairvere _Clowrey Eir Sounds Like: 'Clow--Re Air' Like, Cloudy Air. Ohaha, I made a funny B'| _± Smoke Manipulation [Power] ___When it feels like the world is bleak and suffocating you...Stop looking at me first. Incense, smog, the black smoke fuming from that truck's exhaust pipe...You never think much of these simple things. Perhaps 'smelly' and 'irritating', but you'd pass by them without a single thought. You wouldn't notice if the mass was subtly following you, surrounding you and thickening until you couldn't see your hand right in front of you face...not until it was too late. She has control over smoke, plainly said. Now more in-depth, Clowrey can inhale any sort of "polluted" smoke and then exhale it for use, or store it for later. Only after she has devoured it, can she control smoke, however...Thus far, she has found no limit to how much smoke she can store inside her body, but has learned the hard way she can't swallow everything. Especially not anything immediately corrosive. Living close to the mining towns in South Tasea and other things, Clowrey has been exposed to plenty of substances. As she exhales, she can manipulate the thickness and how much 'polluted' gas is released to accommodate different situations. If she focused hard enough, she can release a paralyzing or sickness-inducing substance as well; she can "melt" or "burn" veryveryveryveryveryveryveryIcannotsaythingenoughveryvery weak materials as well. While she needs to inhale smoke to use it, she can release through her mouth or finger tips.
_± Extension of Herself [Sub-Power] ___And you thought I was just blowing smoke! Clowrey can use her smoke as an extension of herself, though they come with limits like any other thing. Using a 'smoke visor', she can release another puff to scout areas before entering. However, the further and longer the puff has to go...Well, there's a 5 meter and 10 minute time limit. She can also form objects with her smoke, such as a rope or baseball bat. They are as solid as the real thing, as long as Clowrey doesn't lose concentration and keeps a hold on the item. Swords are pointless--She can make the shape, but it'll have no edge. Should the smoke, when in this more 'physical' state, be destroyed then Clowrey has both lost that smoke and begins to weaken. It takes energy to make it more 'physical', and getting it destroyed just makes the process more painful for her.
_±Enhanced Senses [Ability] ___You can't keep her in the dark for too long...That's her specialty! Save for her sense of touch and taste. . .and hearing, her heightened sensitivities are some of her most important assets(For Survival, she won't mention). Though unaffected during the day, when darkness falls or some sinister cover is cast, her night-vision becomes as piercing as a jungle cat's. It's nigh arguable that her eyesight in the dark is superior over her usual 20/20(Depending on the day's brightness...). . . .I'm honestly not sure why it's useful, but Clowrey's sense of smell has also been heightened--But it's become very selective. Take a bouquet of roses for example; a normal person can smell the sweet scent when its right in their arms, a dog could smell it from another room in the house...Clowrey would sooner pick up on the pollen then see the roses being shoved in her face! I suppose to put it more simply, certain qualities of a smell are more noticeable to her than others. Although she can't possibly know the exact ingredients, whether it's a 'bitter' or 'sour' sort can help notify her to dangers or poisonous gases. So 2 out of 5 senses are heightened...partially, conditionally...Yeah, that helps.
_± Minor Fighting Capabilities [Skill] ___H-hey! Can't we all just get alon--HOLY! YOU THREW A FREAKING HORSE AT ME! WHO THROWS A FREAKING HORSE?! Clowrey Eir hails from a more southern part of Tasea, and slightly more traditional to boot. Any who were able, and willing to lend a hand with chores, were given the choice to learn how to fight by 'Old Man Steel'...That's not his actual name, but what most of the younger children called him, Clowrey including. She was one of the students the Old Man trained, though she was by far the most disciplined. In fact, she clashed with her sifu and was promptly punished so often she was eventually kicked out! But you can't say she didn't learn anything; she's pretty sufficient in self-defense...and sneaking about. Though her reflexes and reactions are swift, it still stands that Clowrey shouldn't be put at the head of an offensive front.
_± Sleuthing [Skill] ___I know something's wrong...and nothing is going to hide the truth from me. As sly as she can be, Clowrey actually feels bothered by secrets and mysteries and...simply not knowing. She gets angered when someone tries to pull the wool over her eyes and becomes suspicious at subtleties of any sort...and when faced with these walls and fronts, she feels a passionate urge to break them all down. With a penchant for the truth, and a knack(or unwavering tenacity) for unraveling webs, this desire has helped her long before her Heroine Era. Maybe foolishly idealistic, but the girl firmly stood by the idea that one is innocent until proven otherwise, and a guilty person will never escape justice's blade; though these simple thoughts have twisted over the years. The human will to survive, to love, and to hate...these things muddy the 'clear truth', and the line between right and wrong is more thin than people care to understand--or hear from a ordinary girl. Scouring for evidence, shaking down confidence, and with psychological warfare, Clowrey is determined to tear lies from truth, no matter the means or ends. She'd be a pretty good prosecutor, if she weren't so...rambunctious.

Which area is the character based/from ⌖ _TaseaAge upon entering academy ⌖ _Enters at 15-16 years of age(Rookie). How did your character get their powers ⌖ _'cause crazy psycho bitches are crazy. Uhh...I mean. "Magically Added"--Something went 'boom' alright. Refer to In-depth Background for more info_Opportunity. To prove something. To gain the ability to do and be something more.
It's hard to define what part of it all is selfish or pride, or true need...but Clowrey can't look to anywhere else. If she's going to learn to control her powers and find her place in this world, this Academy might be her only chance. ± Oh so Sneaky [ ninja ] ___So THAT'S what they're up to... Hiding from her Sifu(among other people for various things) and her training has benefit her. Maybe she's a crappy scraper, but if she wants to stay out of sight and reach, you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be hard to catch her! And if she's being a sneaky sneak because she's sleuthing...Well, whispering probably doesn't help. Whether hiding or trying to uncover something...Clowrey will try most any means to do so._±Eyes On The Back of My Head [No You Don't] ___Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. . . .I tried to warn you 'bout the flying asteroids. Although Corduroy can't touch anything, has any of his powers...Generally, can't do anything but talk and appear only to Clowrey, he can still see things. While he can't sense any dangers, if he spots something first, he'll be sure to tell Clowrey._±Limber [Swiiiiiiingin'] ___Look Pa! No hands! If there was one thing she did learn from Sifu Steel, it was how to move her body to near acrobatic-proportions. It helps with being sneaky and running awaygetting to hard to reach places. ± Wind [OBJECTION] ___Hah! You can't see anythi--Oh ********, giant fan. As stupid as it sounds...her smoke is not immune to windy gales. Like any smog, one good blow will send it on its way; her smoke is slightly more resilient but Clowrey is, more or less, screwed when faced off against a powerful wind user. Or a tornado.± Deadly Smog [Incapacitated] ___What...What did you put in my drinkair...?! There are some types of smog she can't use...mostly because they'd hurt her before she could even try. For example, toxic gases that starts corroding everything it touches or meant to kill those who breathe it in...She simply cant get close to them. Clowrey also has issues with chloroform gas, but for a...less dangerous reason(it's like alcohol to her)._±Residue [Power Decline] ___Ugh...I'm starting to feel weird... This...This is not a power. In fact, it is a revolt and a mutiny. Everyone has their limits and their breaking points, but you can't always tell that just by looking. For Clowrey, you don't have to guess when things are becoming too much...When she gets weary, suffers too many wounds, is being horribly psyched out, or even is just wracked by a horrible 105 degree fever...her power lets it be known. Her smoke converts into a tar-like...goo and seems to take on a slightly sentient force. A mindless, one-track, violent force...'It' won't listen to Clowrey and continuous drains her strength as it wreaks what havoc it can. Thankfully, the tar leeches so much energy so quickly that it dissipates swiftly. That doesn't leave Clowrey with much help though...± Offensively Challenged [Inadequate] ___. . .You want me to break 10 boards...WITH MY HEAD? ARE YOU CRAZY?! Her reflexes and reactions are swift...Her defense is steady, but she will not throw the first punch. Because she can't. Her physical strength is rather average and she's...just not that great a fighter. Instead, she follows the 'you can't lose if you're never hit' law.± Culinary Palette [Wut Nao?] ___What do you mean it was rotten? Of course I couldn't taste how sour it was! For the last few years now, since she obtained her powers...everything tastes like ashes to her. No matter how spicy, how flavorful, or even how disgusting, Clowrey will taste only a sort of cigar-y dust. In fact, Corduroy's first comment about it was: "Congratulations. You now have the taste buds of a 70-year-old smoker who's been hitting tar for 60 years." Needless to say, she will never pick up a frying pan. And although it all tastes like ashes, that doesn't excludes her stomach getting sick if the food's spoiled.± Light Sensitivity [ cool ] ___ARGH! TOO BRIGHT! I'M MELTIIIIING! Ever since receiving her powers, sunlight seems to irk her--Even when she wears sunglasses, the daytime always seems a little too bright. It's irritating and causes her to bump into things. Since it would freak people out if she 'blackened' her eyes, she just wears transition 'glasses'._Clowrey Eir. . .What could you say about this girl? Her older brother might say: "Always disappearing during shifts, head in the clouds...Speaking of which, have you seen her?" The crazy old dead Witch would tell you...Nothing. She's dead. She hated Clowrey for some mysterious reason and she took that with her to Hell. A certain taciturn father could mention: ". . .Sometimes she doesn't realize...that she might not like what she finds. For all her imagination and cleverness, she doesn't think of the consequences so much." Her fighting instructor would use the words: "Wild, lazy, undisciplined...but passionate. Determined in what she puts her heart in."
Now any of that could be more or less true, but. . .You know what, screw it. Time to get this ball rolling. Clowrey is strong-willed and more often than not, very strong-headed; she's never 100% compliant with authorities or rules, and she's not always aware of possible risks. It's not that she's adventurous, which she is, but when she feels strongly about a goal she loses sight of the journey. She's usually optimistic, but not afraid to be blunt about the truth or people's shortcomings(or her own; Clowrey's self-aware...enough). Tends to laugh things off; tries to hide and vulnerabilities she might have. She detests lying and secrets, but if there's a good reason, she understands when she needs to back down...
For all her rambunctiousness, when Clowrey gets knocked down a few pegs...Her flames glow a little dimmer. She questions herself, her ideals, and how far she's gotten in life...the sort of things she doesn't want to think about.
She has to face it sometimes; you can't always keep going forward. That's sharks. General Backstory and Motivation for becoming a ~*~Hero~*~ ⌖ _Clowrey lives in a family of three, her Father, her Older Brother, and herself. With her Mother passed away nearly a decade ago, she had lived with her Father and sibling for most of her life. They owned a Tea Shop, in a small but thriving town...Her Father spoke very little, and they were always busy. If not helping out with chores or takings lessons, Clowrey was usually by herself. However, it is far from the truth to say she lived unhappily. Unlike those other 2, who worked hard and responsibly, she was always...'adventuring', as her brother would put it. She had a dream to see and experience the world, but what child doesn't fantasize of that? Well, her reason for wishing it...might be a little unusual.
Like most children, she was read bedtimes stories. Her favorite were heroic epics, where good always triumphs. As well, like all children who loved those tales...she was inclined to act them out. It wasn't easy for a little girl who was already known to cause trouble, to be taken seriously. It didn't matter, since Clowrey began to take all of it fervently. She began to notice things; people lying and cheating others, trying to cover up their wrongdoings, getting someone else to take the blame...and somehow, that angered young Clowrey in a way no 8-year-old should have to know. She started to actively seek 'villains' out, to right the wrongs and protect the innocent. But...she was never quite received jubilantly. And it wasn't just simple things, either; Justice was being tainted in all sorts of ways, all over the world. Yet everyone else was either ignorant or arrogant about it...and slowly, Clowrey stopped being a 'hero for rectitude'. Instead, she just wanted the truth. But what could she actually do?
When Clowrey was 13 or so, she was snatched up by this old woman who was rumored to be a wicked witch. That was just a tale made up by some kids, who were simply afraid of this old hag that no one really knew...but as it turns out, that story turned out to be rather true. Clowrey had met with this 'witch' several times before, and inexplicably the shrew always seemed out to get her! People always said this baseless hate was just in the child's mind...But that turned out to be true as well...
This 'witch', who borrowed her powers from a demon spirit, intended to kill Clowrey that night. Suddenly, however, the hag lost control of her powers and instead ending up destroying herself! The demon spirit was free to do as he pleased now...! He stated to the frightened pre-teen: "Humans...such a despicable creature. Always lying, always cheating. No qualms about killing your own but seeking solace for their 'mysterious' guilt. So many secrets and mysterious shrouding your eyes...but bloodshed seems to fix all that. It's silly to say I'm the Demon..." And Clowrey looked into his shadowed features, and replied: "Then shouldn't there be someone...to try and make things right? I want...to find the truth as well."
The Demon Spirit needed a vessel to survive on this world...and strangely enough, he agreed to let Clowrey house him. In exchange, the weakened Demon was stripped of his power and body. Clowrey obtained her own powers through this contract and looked determinedly into her future at Sidekick Academy.
The Demon Spirit, whom she called 'Corduroy', was far mellower than she had expected. He was content with just being with her, trying to make sense of how and why Humans did what they do...But perhaps that was for the best.

Looks department ⌖ ±Height 5'3"
±Weight ~97lbs.
±Eyes Large almond shaped. They use to be a dark hazel but has now taken a more grayish tinge; when she uses her powers or by will, she can black-out her eyes completely--cornea, sclera, iris and all. This helps her see in the darkness and shades from daylight, but since it looks creepy to normal people...
±Hair Shoulder-length, save for 2 strands on either side of her hair. Deep brown and usually held together by a lavender ribbon. Straight, but not completely evenly cut.
±Face Oval-shaped. Full lips, but plain overall.
±Body Straight/Banana. Slightly ectomorphic with 'soft' curves. Clowrey is rather pale...About a 12 to 15 on this Skin Color Chart.
±Clothing Style It's at a standstill between 'girly' and 'tomyboy'. She likes simple accessories, but is hardly ever seen without her wrist gloves. She doesn't mind a skirt...as long as she's wearing shorts underneath. As long as she can move around easily.
±Costume Style Gypsy-Ninja. Dark purple, Gypsy-Ninja. B'|

Personal Comments & Notable Things to Note ⌖
± I'm leaning towards more of a 'The Question' feel, then the usual fighters.
± I'm worried about how the above will fit into this guild. Mostly how she'll be able to do certain missions.
± Does it look like there's too many Weaknesses in comparison to what little Strengths she has?
± Corduroy is more than he appears [- totally doing Character Development before character actually exists -]
± her extension ability: what happens if the bat is broken in combat? since it's an extension of herself, can she feel it or will she be put into some type of shock? Edited profile to accommodate this.

how much smoke can she inhale in one breath? and can she breathe in small particles as well as gas?
how does her increased sight correlate with her smoke power?
who's Corduroy? nvm~ might want to leave a note in the previous post.
i love her weakness to giant fans 8D i wonder how she feels about central air systems.
i feel sorry for her lost of taste though, but it does well with her weird sense of smell. since i don't think her power came to her at birth, wouldn't she feel sad that she lost her taste buds forever? imagine never tasting cake again!
and for her strengths/power and weaknesses. her extension ability: what happens if the bat is broken in combat? since it's an extension of herself, can she feel it or will she be put into some type of shock?
/throws this mess of questions at you

/throws this mess of questions at you . . .You prey on my dislike of math B'| I don't have an exact volume drawn up, but she can inhale a room full at one time. And I'd say that room is about...10x10 feet dimensions? Basically, not too large an amount.
Particles? Depending; Gas and dust particles, yes. She cannot breathe in dirt, no. Water particles, though is in smoke, may not be inhaled either.
It goes off the idea that her smoke clouds the vision of others...but she'd be the total opposite. It's more of a symbolic relation than anything...My excuse is Corduroy! x'D
What note in what post?
It's not just giant fans, but yeah~ x'D Where someone would get a giant fan, I don't know... B'|
Unless these were vacuum-powered A/C's, she doesn't have too much an issue with them. But you WILL find her glaring at one, once in a while.
On the other hand, she can drink bitter tea without insulting her tea-loving Father! B'] But naw, she got over it. It all ends up in the belly anyway--And she can still smell them~ :'D
Oooooh~ I hadn't thought of this! Since I was focusing more of the 'making smoke into items' thing at the time, I forgot the earlier part where the smoke is a weird part of herself. I wouldn't say she actually feels it, but it would definitely wear her down in some way. Editing this portion now.

rofl math/science. 8] now i know your weakness /mwahahaha
well it depends on how sparse the gas is and how much gas you pump into one room. though for rp, that wouldn't really matter. umm, i'm thinking a decent amount, like around 10min of exhaust a truck would give.
water vapor is gas though. ;O everything has it's own solid/liquid/gas state. so maybe just she can only breathe in chemicals or poisons?
the post where you first mention Corduroy.
that's essentially what central air is. most newer buildings have them, they gently suck up hot/cold air and expel cold/hot air into the room.

Le Franz I feel that this pretty well-rounded character, but what happens if the smoke that is an extension of herself is somehow captured? If that makes sense? Well, it'd have to be in an air-tight compartment first, so the smoke can't get out. As well, since the smoke can't stay too far from Clowrey and ends up disappearing after an amount of time...
I guess what I'm really trying to say is, what ever would happens depends on who captured it and what they can do.

Well, it's not to be forgotten she can store smog inside her~ :'O
I know; I just suck at explaining~ x'P I put somewhere, I think in the part about her powers, that she inhales mostly 'polluted' stuff. For example, mist covering the ground...She can't use that. It's kinda useless to her. However, she can't inhale chemicals and poisons straight up. Must be in some sort of gassy forms, and not too dangerous~
Wut about it? I'm confuzzled. . A.
She glares at them B'| The power would have to be kicked up a notch, or two, before it would actually cause her problems. Her smoke, though not invincible, is more resilient to it. Of course, there is the issue if she's low on smoke and strong winds blows regular smoke away before she can inhale them...
@Franz- Uhm. Well, from what I understand...This would be my answer: Clowrey does not have an infinite amount of smoke, and each time she uses some...it disappears and she has to get more smoke.
Some smoke being captured is the same thing.
Her body isn't made of smoke, if that's what you actually meant by 'her mass' instead of how much smoke she has?
