We recently celebrated Queensday (=Koninginnedag), on which we celebrate the birthday of our former Queen (our current Queen's mother). Out of respect for her mother our current Queen kept this holiday on her mother's birthday.
On "Koninginnenacht" (Queen night, quite literally), we celebrate by going out into the city and get wasted on booze. The next day (April 30th) we celebrate the Queen's birthday by holding markets out in the streets, little markets on which we sell stuff we no longer have any use for and others might find useful.
Our royal family also goes out on this holiday to be among the citizens, visiting one city each year, in which several events are planned for the royal family. Those events differ a lot, depending on what keeps that city busy.
If I'm wrong about something here, other Dutchies are very welcome to correct me. sweatdrop

4th of May is Dodenherdenking (Deadmemmoration or something) Thats the day we have 2 minutes of silence at 8pm to honour all the people who died in WWII and the people who still die every day in war.
5th of May is Bevrijdingsdag (Liberationday ) to celebrate that we were freed from the Germans... And still live in freedom.
And last 8th of May it was Moederdag (Mothersday) were we give our mothers and grandmothers presents to say that we love them and thank them.

He's like Santa Clause but he comes to the Netherlands from Spain with his steamboat and his helpers. And he brings presents to the children who have been good. If you're not... he'll put you in the sack and take you with him to Spain!
