PURPOSE: Personnel on border recon missions have been reporting wild dogs sneaking into their supplies in the night. For some reason the dogs are not being detected by the Konoha Forest Fuuin system or the sensor type shinobi. Though a nuisance, the dogs are of a low threat and need to be removed in case the enemy figures out a way to use them for infiltration. TASK: Find and eliminate the wild dogs. As a secondary, non-essential task, capture a dog for study. CONDITIONS: Given available 1st Platoon Genin. Members / Current Location
Rhaim / Roaming
Felix / Complete

Roleplaying Rules 1. Aruil and ProtoXtreme are the only users allowed to control NPCs. 2. OOC comments will be conducted in the Konoha Cbox, except by the crew for clarification purposes. 3. This mission is along a separate timeline from the main village. (i.e. you can RP in both) 4. All normal guild rules in effect.

READ THIS POST Rhaim finished etching a Konoha leaf into four sides of a tree with his kunai to mark the position of the first platoon base camp with a sigh. Upon doing so he pulled out a small scroll on a string and attached it to the tree. With the preparation work completed the boy stepped back and shot himself up into the trees to begin his patrolling. Written on the scroll:
The the Genin of 1st Platoon, our goal is simply to stop the wild dogs in the area. Lethal force is authorized. I, Nara Rhaim, will be constantly patrolling the area of operations more in case something happens and you need back up. Once you've defeated two dogs, leave something to identify the defeated as yours and return to the barracks. I'll recover the bodies. ((YOUR FIRST POST MUST BE EITHER A STEALTH POST OR AN AWARENESS POST))

HP:20 Huh... so that must be how we mark where a Konohagakure camp is... Felix nodded, taking mental notes of the picture of the base camp presented to him upon his arrival. He noted the scroll hanging by the string from the tree and read the instructions carefully. "...Wild dogs huh..." Felix read on... wondering how wild dogs could be a problem... they were in the wild right? The forest... but then again, the main problem was that the defense system wasn't picking up on the dogs. He could see how that would be a problem. Suppose I'd better get to it then... Felix flexed his fingers down by his sides, mentally preparing for some sort of fight and drawing one of his Kunai from his side pouch. Tao was out on a walk when he noticed a tree bearing a scroll along with Konoha symbols carved into the bark. Dogs? Well that seems like a task fit for academy students not genin. I guess I might as well get this over with quickly. it certainly seemed like overkill for him to go after some dogs but something being able to get past their defenses was a serious problem. Before setting out to find two dogs Tao reread the scroll to make sure he had the rules right. At least lethal force is authorized, it certainly makes things easier. he confirmed for himself. With the rules of engagement clarified and his target clear Tao knew that it was time to start the mission. So where do the wild dogs live? Tao thought as he began to look around for clues.

A faint shadow moved off between trees in the distance. It moved slow and low to the ground, barely over the foliage.
It costs 1 attack roll to move within range to identify the object. It costs 2 attack rolls to make Stealth checks towards the object. It is not within throwing range. Any skill checks cost 1 attack roll.
TAIRU-
A short ways off from the camp the Genin began hearing a faint rustling sound. Upon closer examination a mass of fur was spotted in a clearing on a makeshift bed of leaves.
It costs 1 attack roll to close the gap to melee range. It is already in throwing range. Any skill checks cost 1 attack roll.

He was extremely nervous of course, but even more so he was afraid to loose sight of his first possible target. And so Felix lifted his Kunai before himself defensively, stepping through the branches of the trees blocking his path and making his way toward the shadow quickly, but defensively. Moving as silently as he could of course, but with his intention on speed, not wanting to loose sight of his target now. (moving within range to identify.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The sudden crunching of leaves and breaking of brush caused the moving dark mass to come to a halt. A fair sized black dog, about knee height on the boy, stood in front of Felix as he rounded the final tree in front of it. The animal stared directly at the Genin with its' fur clearly on edge. As soon as it caught sight of the kunai in his hand the canine knew that this child was not out to offer it a snack. Thanks to the quick rushing of Felix, the beast was not only ready but able to launch itself, jaws open, at the boys' hand. It had every intention of latching onto the child and wrenching the weapon from him.

HP:17 Felix grimaced as the dog's jaws bit into his forearm.. feeling warm blood stain his skin and shirt. Thankfully he had caught the dog on his arm though, and was fortunate that he had not been tackled and mauled by it. Grunting through the pain, he switched his Kunai from his left hand to his right, and attempted to jab at the dog with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 15 + attack bonus (1) = 16 Hit.

The beast almost appeared to actually suck on the wound that it had created on the boy. Its' tongue felt as if it were wrapping around Felixs' arm up until the point that it was stabbed. With a clearly unhappy snarl the dog released its' grip on the young ninja as the blade sliced along its' left front leg. Though curiously it didn't jump back away from the child in pain. The animal simply landed on all fours and immediately lurched with gaping jaws at the ankle of its' attacker. The paws of the creature tore into the ground as it made the lunge for its' victim.
In the distance more growls could be heard.
