Mokovu had finally entered the mountainous lands. The wind was cold and ruthless and the ice so cold it felt like teeth against his paws. As harsh as it was it brought back memories of home. As he moved he felt the wind buffeting his fur hard, it was slowly getting worse as he made his way further into the land. He was unsure if he would ever find his old home, he could just end up getting lost...again.

He bit back the thoughts of coming this far to only turn back, he would not let it happen. His body has been through a lot trying to get here, he had met many lions and even other species on the journey. Many had wished him luck on making it no matter what he would find at the end of the road. He was last here as a cub when he wandered to far and a storm hit splitting him up from his family and home. This has been his first return since then and it still felt like home to him.

He made his way so a small split between the rocks to block the wind from his face for a bit. He opened his eyes more to a bright white world and breathed in the fresh air. His eyes glanced around wondering where to go now. He just wished he had more memory of these lands but he was so young.

He sighed finally deciding to rest till perhaps this storm settled down enough to continue, there was nothing he could do with this wind and snow billowing around him. He laid his stomach on the cold ground and rested his head on his paws. He did now sleep, his eyes stayed open looking out into the storm as darkness came. He could hear the wind howling and sound of snow being swept off the ground.

He was almost there.

Isidomu was settled in a small patch of grass, uncovered beneath the snow and very fresh indeed. Apparently he had decided to sleep on the food he had been given, rather than eat it. And after all that work to locate something alive under all the heavy snow, too. If wasn’t like patches of grass were easy to come by, even ones just on the outskirts of a cave, where they were waiting out a snowstorm. Sometimes, Nquma wondered why she was even bothering looking after the little animal- it wasn’t like she had a real obligation to him.

Aside from eating his mother and wearing her coat as a prize, of course.

“Isidomu,” she said softly, “come further in- the snow will make you cold if you sleep there. I’m going to look for some roots, since you’re not going to eat that flatten grass now.” Isidomu giggled and trotted into the cave, the tiny ibex plopping down towards the back of the den. Meanwhile, the large Goddess got to her paws, venturing slowly out of the cave and into the snow. The wind was harsh, blasting against her face, but she didn’t mind. The cold only comforted her. After all, the Goddess of Glaciers wouldn’t find something like cold a bother, now would she?

Slowly, she made her way down the mountainside, kicking the snow with her mighty paws, feeling beneath the white for something her pseudo son might actually eat instead of rest on. As she slowly progressed, her paw connected with something quite different from a root- something warm. Frowning, she peered through the snow rushing past, noticing the darkened frame of a… something in the powder.

“Ah!” She yelped, startled by the appearance of another life form. Her illusion was cast, her mortal form nothing more than an ordinary lioness, but still she was worried. What if he didn’t like her? What if she was interrupting him?

“Y-you shouldn’t be sleeping in the snow, you know,” she informed him, her attempt to show concern coming off more smug than anything else. A common problem with the unsociable lioness.

Mokovu haven fallen asleep became victim once again to his past. Memories of being amongst his family and loved ones before the storm. As the storm picked up in his dream he was abruptly brought back to the real world. His eyes shot open as he looked at what had waken him. He felt a rather large paw against his body but yet what his eyes saw seemed to deceive him. Here was a smaller lioness, her paws seemed much smaller then they felt. He got up and stretched the now sore muscles as the lioness spoke. She didn't seem to concern she had just stepped on him yet she didn't seem rather social at all. He assumed she was a mountain lion indeed, not use to many encounters.

"Well it seemed like a good idea at the time. Not like I would have found a better spot during this storm" He said with a slight chuckle to himself. He was too light hearted to throw her attitude back in her face and show her sass. It just wasn't the way he lived his life, he had a very pure soul. He shook his fur from the cold snow that started to melt it's way and looked at her with curious eyes.

"My name is Baridi Mokovu, call me Mokovu" he said with a kind smile and curt nod to the lioness. He did not want to scare away the only company he has had in days.

Ah! He was alive after all.

Nervously, she watched her, aware she was larger and more powerful, yet scared all the same. Frowning, she tilted her head to one side, scared of what he might do, even as he introduced him. “Nquma,” she replied faintly, “that’s… my name. I… live in this area. If you would like… I’ll let you stay in my cave until the storm passes.” Why was she offering her home?! She didn’t owe him any favors! And she didn’t even know him that well. If he ended up being a completely evil lion, then she would have to kill him.

It would be a problem. In any case, however, she would be very rude to go back on her offer now. But there was one problem she needed to address before allowing him anywhere.

“But… there’s a guest in my den. An Ibex. If you harm him, I will run you through with my horn… err… just… don’t hurt him.” Damnit! With her illusion, he couldn’t see her horns. Why would he want to? They looked weird and she knew it would probably scare him if she exposed them. So she tried to act as though she hadn’t said anything at all, looking away from him while she waited for him to decide if she wanted to come with him or not.

“Maybe you can tell me what you’re doing all the way out here,” she added after a moment, “this isn’t the kind of place that usually gets traffic.”

Mokovo eyed the lioness carefully, suddenly he felt nervous to be in her presence, but he thought for a split second she was the nervous one. She seemed different, like even her spirit seemed different to him, he could sense it. However he was glad to have met someone familiar with the area and even more glad that she offered her home. He nodded as she spoke and looked at her with kind eyes.

"Nquma it is a pleasure and thank you for offering me shelter" He said with a curt nod to her. She was rather kind in an odd type of way, then again maybe it was this area that made her like that. There were not many others around here. Yet she spoke of a Ibex and she spoke rather protective of it, he looked at her but didn't ask any questions. Besides he would never hurt anyone unless he had no other choice.

"Of course I would never lay hands on a living spirit" he said as he tried to not giggle at her threat. Horns? what was she talking about? maybe she really believed she was an Ibex. He played along as though she did not say anything, he was certain something was unique about her. He hoped to find out what soon, he was rather curious when it came to individuals. As she spoke her words were true but Mokovu had waited his whole life to gather the courage to come here. She possibly couldn't ever understand.

"I came to the mountains in search for my pride lands, you see as a cub I was wandering and got lost during a snowstorm I havent returned since..." His words gently trailed off as he looked around, he suddenly felt a loss of hope. He looked back at her almost wanting to ask her the same but his words were still stuck in his thoughts.
