This rapture bullshit can be easily refuted by 2 verses: Matthew 24 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13 32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Bibolotry is dangerous. The Bible is a tool to help us develop a relationship with Christ so we can come to know of our Father-Mother through him. Ever hear of the Hedonist Paradox? If you are too focused on the means to happiness you miss finding it? If you are too focused on what the end will be like you will miss out on what the story is supposed to be about.

I thought it was refuted by the fact that the person who said it took "Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth" Genesis 7:4 combined with "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day", decided the Great Flood was in 4990 BC, Did some math, and magically found this date. Also, hears one I can't recite from Memory, so I'm copying an pasting it. I don't know if it proves that doomsday is upon us, but it might prove that TuPac is still alive. Quote: 1. According to Camping, the number five equals "atonement", the number ten equals "completeness", and the number seventeen equals "heaven". 2. Christ is said to have hung on the cross on April 1, 33 AD. The time between April 1, 33 AD and April 1, 2011 is 1,978 years. 3. If 1,978 is multiplied by 365.2422 days (the number of days in a solar year, not to be confused with the lunar year), the result is 722,449. 4. The time between April 1 and May 21 is 51 days. 5. 51 added to 722,449 is 722,500. 6. (5 × 10 × 17)2 or (atonement × completeness × heaven)2 also equals 722,500. I think it disproves itself.

Well yeah it's self-refuting itself of course, this was more of an aid for those that could not see it's own self-refuting features.

What's going to happen to the people that gave up everything for this? Camping is hiding out in his little mansion, refusing calls and visitors, but there are people who have no homes, no jobs, and no savings, because they gave them all up for this. This just...makes me nauseous.

Alright...
I know this is callous of me, but people actually gave everything up for this s*** !?...
Okay, that's out of my system...
I know that for any occult story that gets media attention, there must be a significant amount of followers for it to get that attention. It sickened me when I first heard it on the radio, and with times being as hard as they have been for so many people, it is easy for the ignorant among them to cling to false hope like that. The wish for the end of the hardship is all that so many people can focus on now. The people who tend to buy this bullarky tend to b those with nothing left to lose, and who could have used some real help before they developed a taste for the sugar-drowned poop that they were fed.
Okay, that all sounds a bit callous too... Sorry, this whole episode rubbed me way wrong... I would love to take every person who was decieved by this as'le, and just give them all a big hug, and a bit of reprieve from whatever turned them to this belief in the first place. The problem with starting a fund though, is that many people who the fund is started for would never get help because they wouldn't step forward to say they fell for the scam. Mostly people who like to exploit charities would come forward to say that they were had, but in reality, they would be the moochers of the system, and that pisses me off as well....

It rubs me the wrong way too and no it doesn't sound callous but concerned. Yes a charity would be a big risk but that's part of "not seeing and believing." Taking that risk that people are going to exploit one's kindness and to help a few who do need it. Again this is just an idea I'm kicking around, I'm not sure if I am going to be able to go through with something like that though, partially because I don't know who to organize such a thing and also because I am scared of being ripped off. It's also the trail of those who were decieved to admit that they made a mistake. You just illustrated that it's hard to ask forgiveness.

An instant bar of aid to all repeat offenders should probably be instituted. 3nodding Otherwise, I think an effort like this would do justice to redeem some of the Christian image that is frequently lost due to the failure of such events. I was thinking that too. I mean to me it would seem to be the "Christian" (at least what I was taught Christian meant growing up before this evangelical craze) thing to do, to help those wronged, especially those by those claiming prophecy. Some questions that come to mind about organizing something like this is how to raise awareness? How to collect such funds? How to distribute such funds? And what to do with any left over donations either after a particular time has passed or if all those wronged have been serve?
