There was an empty space in Eilian's music room where her harpsichord had stood, causing exultation to rise through the teen at its absence. It was a sign of victory over the fact that she wouldn't always have to do what daddy wanted and the unending hours of music that no one had any interest in were coming towards an end. There had been some suspicion as to who exactly had vandalized the priceless instrument of course. But she wasn't talking.

Father had insisted, instead, on an extra day of piano. Fingers danced around the ivory and black keys to make sound pour out of the strong instrument, but Eilian's mind wasn't on the notes she mangled or missed. No her mind was on what Birhan had done and what she and Ares were going to do about it. There were a few loyal...CLANG!

A jarring note as her vibrating Blackberry fell off of the ledge of the piano onto a set of keys and messed up her careful fingering. Brows knit and then eyes widened a bit at who it was from. Fallon? Texting? Yeah that was...unusual. Had something happened? Maybe her captain just wanted the company of Eilian. Maybe she wanted something other than the replacement look-alike of her mirror girlfriend.

Maybe, maybe, maybe. Facts were what were important and the fact was Fallon almost never sent a text asking her to come by the condo. It took less time than crossing the room for the Crystal student to have her henshin pen out. Calling a cab would take too long.

A block away from the condo the Senshi of Echoes faded back into Eilian Halpan and the Welsh girl was hard-pressed to not just jog up the sidewalk. Her feet ate up ground and rapped in a no-nonsense fashion on the front door. Three times, evenly, no more. She'd find out what Fallon wanted soon enough.

Eilian's best feature had always been her reliability. Fallon could almost time down to a second how long it would take the dark-haired girl to arrive at her place. That was what was so wonderful about her. She moved in synchronization with Fallon, not against her. That was what Fallon needed right now: an ally. She didn't know if Eilian knew about the dead civilian, but there was a part of her that just needed to see the face of someone who cared about her in spite of Ares.

Fallon had finished arranging her marbles and was standing in the foyer, straightening a painting. A knock thudded through the door. Her hands paused on the frame, brushed across the scalloped edge. Anxiety seized her chest. Would Eilian look angry? Disappointed? Sad? This made Fallon more nervous than any of the judgments the rest of the Inner Sanctum might pile on her.

Wiping her hands down the front of her pale blue dress, Fallon crossed barefoot to the door, grabbed the handle, and pulled it open. It might have been the way the lamplight cast a blue glow across Eilian's hair, or maybe it was something about the concern and care that lingered in her deep blue eyes. Whatever it was, Fallon took one look at her and then lost herself.

Open arms slipped around Eilian's waist, pulling the girl against her chest. She pressed her lips against a surprised mouth. One hand traced its way around her side and slipped up the nape of her neck to softly grip her hair. Fallon tilted backward, lifting Eilian off her feet and stumbling back into the foyer with the shorter girl held tight to her. She kicked the door shut, pushing a thin cardigan off of Eilian's shoulders and dropping it to the floor. For once, Fallon did not make her guest take her shoes off before entering her bedroom.

Later, under a downy comforter and beneath the hazy glow of moonlight, Fallon pressed up against Eilian's back, burying her face in the girl's neck. She kissed softly at the pale skin of her throat and whispered, "I did something I shouldn't have last night." Her nose pressed down, traced a line across her shoulder. "I don't know how I feel about myself anymore." Her other arm slipped beneath Eilian and the mattress, pulling her tight. Fallon couldn't bear Eilian's eyes now, but she could bury her secrets in her skin.

Fallon had always been a little intense by virtue of her obsession -- never disorder -- with having everything where it should be and making sure that she never touched anything she shouldn't. Eilian had always admired and respected this, especially seeing as physical contact on an everyday level was something that seemed so...awkward. Why did you have to hug in the hallways? Did you really have to hold hands ALL THE TIME and once she saw a girl licking the side of another girl's face as a joke. That was far past where she drew the line and agreed that there was an unnatural amount of touching in today's society.

The intensity that had met her at the door, however, was unlike anything Eilian had previously experienced from her friend. Before she could even get her bearings the pair were wrapped up in each other and she would have cut off her arm before interrupting that moment. Touching was unnatural...unless it was Fallon doing the touching. Concern rippled through as Eilian's mind cleared in the stillness of the bedroom and one hand stroked soothingly down the other girl's back, the other against her hair.

"Something happened? Tell me." There was no 'will you' or 'can you' it was only 'tell me'. Fallon wouldn't have even bothered speaking of it if she hadn't wanted to continue the conversation. Certainly they wouldn't even be here, the way they were now, if she hadn't trusted Eilian with the information or the feeling. It certainly made her all warm inside, even if the warmth did war with the knowledge that something was very wrong here.

Fallon traced the curve of Eilian's arm with her fingertips, drawing a tiny circle on her forearm. Her skin was so smooth. A well-groomed girl like Fallon could appreciate it. She pressed her lips on a rounded shoulder. There were so many things that Fallon wanted to tell the other girl. This was what she had done with Ouranos before. They would slip away and then confide in each other until the pain and sorrow did not seem so severe. Together, they overcame the circumstances of their situation. Fallon needed that person back in her life, even if it came in the form of someone who just looked like her.

Even though she had accepted what she had done, there was still a part of her that was afraid to say it out loud. Her lips parted and then closed again. "No, not yet," she said. "I'm the same person I've always been, Eilian." Why did she say that? It was like she was trying to convince herself.

A pregnant pause lapsed between the two. Fallon took to brushing the hair behind Eilian's ear with her fingers. She rested her cheek against the soft mound of dark hair splayed over her pillow. She had never felt so at home in her own bed, not once before Eilian was in it. Fallon wondered idly if it would ever feel full again without her there. The thought made her pull Eilian closer, matching their breathing until their chests rose and fell in the same even beats. It was so warm there with her. Outside, there was darkness, but here in bed with Eilian, Fallon only felt comfort.

A thrill slid through Eilian when she was pulled close and the whole thing made her feel rather...treasured. It was a new feeling. Of course she wasn't some sob-story neglected daughter but her family, though disdaining the fact, were high-class British. They simply weren't demonstrative in any sort of fashion and for the most part she was alright with this fact. But she was young and female in the end so that Eilian was wrapped up entirely in the heady sense of affection and comfort filling the bedroom.

An eyebrow started to raise a bit at the need to speak with conviction that Fallon was 'the same person'. So it was something that had happened with Ares? Well she could have seen that coming a mile away and dismissed the thought. Cuddling down against the darker girl, fingertips brushed up and down her back listening to them breathing for a moment.

A thought occurred to her in that moment that it might be a very good time to ask the question that had been forcibly shoved into the very back of Eilian's mental closet for the past week or two. So Fallon didn't want to talk about what happened, fine. She'd change the subject. Dark lashes brushed down against a pink-tinged cheek for a moment to summon courage. It was always lurking beneath the surface so it wasn't too hard to find a bunch.

"Fallon?" A pause so that their eyes met through the veil of Eilian's lashes as she looked up at her friend. "I want to go to prom."

Fallon lifted her head up briefly to catch Eilian's eye. She held the gaze for a moment, flickering between the girl's mouth and level blue stare. One hand reached out to cup Eilian's chin. Leaning forward, she kissed her softly, eyelashes brushing against eyelashes. Fallon pulled back gently, resting her forehead against Eilian's. This was what she had needed, even if she didn't realize it at the time. She just needed a moment to breathe with someone who would let her do it.

Their mouths were still inches apart. "So we'll go to prom," she said quietly.

Her lips pressed against Eilian's again. Fallon tangled her arms around the smaller girl and flipped her over with a laugh, kissing her over and over. It was late, past midnight, but neither Blood Moon senshi would go on patrol. Fallon would leave her henshin pen in the drawer for one night and try to remember what it meant to be human.
