User Image The sound of humans outside the shed had become background noise to the brown vixen. She had spent days, weeks, months, even years in this very shed, painting the scenes she had seen throughout the day. The foxes, the flowers, the cracks in the sidewalks. She hadn't ever run out of topics to paint. Until now. Her paw hovered by the paper she had stolen from the art-shop. Both the paint and paper were items she had stolen.

She had painted everything she had ever wanted to. She had painted master-pieces, to shameful speckles of art. The city was covered in her paintings that no one would look twice at because they were not behind glass and frame. The abandoned shed had served it's purpose, and so had she. Riku was done, she could not find anything anymore. She wanted to paint, wanted something colorful and lively, but, what could she find when she herself was dull? When all she attracted was a few mice and her home was a steel city? A forest of steel. Foxes were not prone to coming near her. She was boring. She was a tan and brown mess with a simply tattoo around her eye, and two piercings.

She wondered why her other sisters had luck with foxes. Why they were not seen as plain, but she was. This was unfair sometimes. Sometimes she wondered if the reason she painted was because she herself would never amount to anything, would never be painted for her own beauty. Maybe she painted just to be like her sisters, who also painted. Sometimes she wondered if that was all she was. A copier.

The door to the shed was ajar slightly, revealing several of her paintings, both on walls and stolen paper. If one were to pass by and would truly pay attention they'd see the paintings of sidewalks, of fallen flowers, of human children. And a blank piece of paper that had been white for to long.

Out of all the places she ever traveled to and gotten lost at, this was by far the most frightening. Any passing fox could tell that it was clearly her time time in any sort of city. The black and neon vixen was an expert at living in the woods but she had no street smarts what so ever. She had wondered into the city by accident, gotten turned around, and now was completely lost and nearly straight up terrified.

Era scurried along the streets, darting this way and that. She kept herself very low to the ground, ears twitching wildly trying to take in all the sounds. There were so many humans about but there just as many giant metal things that zoomed around as there were humans. A particularly loud metal thing flew by her, causing Era to jump feet in the air and take off in the other direction. As she ran, she was hit with the scent of a fox.

A fox! Era skidded to a halt. There was another fox in this place! Not caring about the niceness or evilness of the one she might find, Era dashed off in the direction of the scent.... Which led to some sort of small house?

Era peaked her head inside the slightly ajared door. "Hello? Anyone in he--" Her words trailed off as she caught sight of the paintings. She slowly entered the shed, eyes widely moving about taking in all of the colors, lines, and patterns of the paintings before her.

Riku whipped around as she heard soft paws touch metal and a voice let out a yell that seemed more pleading than anything. Her heart stopped for a beat, staring at the black and neon colored vixen before her with wide, blue-green eyes. Who was this vixen? Her eyes followed the vixens, noticing that she was staring at her art. Her artwork. This vixen had stopped to look at her art. Someone was paying attention.

Who was she?

Riku noticed the look of the vixen. She seemed to be built for the forest, and not for the loud city. She didn't have the running muscles to be able to flee from both humans and the metal of the steel forest. A small smile flicked across her lips at this thought. Had a fox truly found her? Had someone finally come to her, and not one of her many sisters?

"Hello." She was unsure what to say, only sure that the vixen was staring at her art-work, and Riku at her. She felt something inside her stir, that longing to paint. This vixen was both colorful and beautiful, and Riku wanted nothing more than to paint the very moment that she had entered, eyes flicking between different forms of art.

"What do you think of the art?"

Although it was the smell of another fox that brought her to the shed, the other vixen’s voice caught Era completely off guard. She had been so wrapped up in the paintings that she had forgotten the whole reason she had run in there; to find help. Era dragged her eyes from the paintings to find the vixen who had spoken only to be left speechless yet again.

Era had known from an early age that she had a stronger attraction to vixens than she did male foxes, her fling with Katie was proof of that, but she had no idea that she would find one this attractive. She stared at the vixen, almost like she had stared at the paintings, taking in every detail about her like she herself was a work of art.

“Beautiful.” Era managed to choke out after staring at the unknown vixen in silence. “The art.” She quickly added, embarrassed. “The art is beautiful. Did you do all of these?”

A soft hint of pink touched the light colored vixen's cheeks, looking over at one of her paintings she had painted merely a few days ago. Beautiful? Her paintings were beautiful? Riku turned to eye the attractive vixen, tail swishing to cover the paint cans she had kidnapped from the nearby art-store, searching for their tops with the tip of her tail. When she found them she turned around, biting the edge carefully of each lid and placing them delicately over the cans.

"Thank you." Riku nearly stammered, turning to look once more at the vixen. She was really pretty, and, Riku wanted to pain her. More than anything. Though, she already could tell she'd need to steal more paint. Her colors were far brighter than the steel of the city.

"I uhm, I'm Riku." She was overjoyed at this point, and it showed by how her tail swished side to side and her ears were raised, almost pulling themselves off her head. A fox! She had company, finally! And an attractive one at that. Now, if only she could ask if she could paint her.... Though she felt that was to forward.

This vixen had broken her dead muse, maybe Riku could paint her in secret? Perhaps! If the vixen never came back she'd never know, though, Riku felt her ears lower at this thought.

Era had to admit that the sort of stutter or stammer to Riku's speech was absolutely adorable. She couldn't help but wonder what Riku's sexual orientation was. Most of the cute vixens she ran into always turned out to be straight, which was very disappointing for Era. But Era could always hope.

"It's nice to meet you Riku." Era said with a smile that had the smallest hint of a flirtatious edge to it. "I'm Era." The introductions reminded Era just exactly why she had run into Riku in the first place. "I seem to be lost. See, I wonder around a lot and took a few wrong turns in the city here and now I can't tell one way from the other."

Era took a few more steps closer to Riku as she looked around the shed at the paintings once again. "If it's not to much to ask, would you mind showing me around when you have time? You seem to know the city pretty well as evident in your amazing paintings."

She blinked up at the vixen from where she stood, glancing at her paintings once more. Were they truly amazing? She blushed even darker at this point, smiling happily at the vixen. She hadn't noticed the flirty smile, mostly because Riku would not ever imagine someone giving her such a look. She grinned once more at the thought of showing Era around. Someone had requested her presence? And someone so pretty as Era? She moved closer to the vixen, nodding.

"Really? You think they are amazing? Thank you!" She wiggled slightly in place, in seconds realizing how silly she looked and biting her bottom lip. "I'd be glad to show you around, just, be careful to not let any humans touch you. Some like to pick you up." She remembered as a kit walking out with three of her sisters, being nabbed up by a human and squealing as her sisters tackled the human. What a day that had been.

"Are you from the forest?" She asked, moving to nudge the door open slightly. She was still giddy by how the vixen had commented on her art. She turned around, flashing Era a wide smile. "I'm from the city, and never really have left it before."

Era nodded at the advice Riku had given her. So far she had been very wary of the many humans that populated the city. They were all so noisy and big. She was actually afraid to ask what would happen if one of the humans picked her up or got a hold of her. There were so many of them around that it had been difficult to avoid them thus far. It really was a wonder how any fox managed to live around them. But if what Riku said was true then she had grown up around them and could manage them much better than herself.

"I am." Responded the black and highlighted vixen as she followed Era over to the door. "I've traveled around for many years so it's been awhile since I've been to a good forest but this is my first time ever being in a city." She looked around once more at the paintings that lined the walls. The city did have it's perks, she had never seen such creativity out in the woods before.

A smile touched her features. The thought that she could be useful and help someone made her smile, she would enjoy this little adventure of theirs then. Though tempted to ask what the forest was like she held her tongue, watching the vixen move around and look at her pictures. A part of her wanted to cringe, hide behind a picture, though Era had earlier mentioned how she liked them..... She didn't mind as much... It made her feel special, that was for sure.

Padding to the door of the shed and nudging Era lightly she tilted her head back. It almost felt like a crime to touch such a pretty fox... Oh.... she found herself growing more self conscience as she realized just how pretty Era really was. Nnnn.

What she really wanted was to ask to paint her, or just something with her colors. Her lack of inspiration had shattered, replaced with the need to paint this beautiful girl. She had to. She needed to. Perhaps when she left Riku would spend a long time perfecting a picture with her markings..... And perhaps she should stop staring!

Of all the foxes she'd met, Era knew she wasn't the most intuitive fox out there but she couldn't help but feel like Riku didn't really want to show her around, but instead had something else on her mind. Perhaps it was the way Riku looked at her, almost as if she was one of her paintings. Or the way subtle way Riku almost flinched away when Era got to close. Era tried to put it from her mind and exit the shed, but something held her.

"Is everything okay?" Era asked as she noticed Riku staring at her. She wondered if it was because there weren't many foxes in the city. Or if it was because she was from the forest and she looked strange, unlike Riku. The cream color of the other vixen blended so well with the different shades of brown and white that traced her body. The way her hair framed her face, the way her tattoo made her eye pop. No, there was strangeness to her, only pure beauty.

After a moment, Era realized that she was the one staring now. Embarrassed, she turned her head and pawed at the ground.

Her eyes flicked away when they met Era's, kneading the ground. She must look like a fool to her.... but she couldn't help staring. The question snapped Riku from her thoughts, looking up quickly. Hm? She must have been acting strange...

Though she really did want to paint her! Or her colors...or.... A thought rose in her mind, smile flickering onto her face. "Say." She chirped, cheerful this time. "If I show you around, can I...paint you?" For a second she wondered if that would upset the vixen, shaking her head. "You are....really pretty. I would love to paint you. I lost my muse recently and..." Now she felt shy, withdrawing. Maybe she didn't have a muse because she was a bad artist? Hmm.

...What? Era stared at the vixen before for a few moments while what she was saying actually sank in. Riku thought she was pretty? And wanted to paint her? Well, that explained the staring and the feeling Era got that something else was on Riku's mind. Era felt a blush come to her cheeks. She had brought back Riku's muse to paint?

"I believe that if you are kind enough to show me around the city, then allowing you to paint me would be the least I could do to make it up to you." Era said with a flirty smile. Riku had just stated her request but Era was already anticipating Riku's eyes studying her while she painted. "Oh, and just so you know, you are really pretty too." In case she wasn't being obvious enough, Era through in a wink just for good measure.

Riku had been by the door by the time she heard Era, head whipping around to stare at her, a bright blush touching her cheeks. "W-What?" No one called her pretty... she was just brown and cream! Era was a mixture of beautiful colors, perfectly arranged on her body to emphasize her curves and delicate features. That stripe on her muzzle... Riku felt like it'd be dangerous if Era was face to face with her.

"T-Thank you." Oh, the compliment had left her shaking slightly, and the wink almost was overkill. Looking away, the brown haired vixen pawed the door open wider, slipping outside and turning around to face Era.

'What do you want to see first? Something natural or something human made?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2011 10:03 am

The compliment almost seemed to throw Riku off guard. Era couldn't help but wonder if anyone not related to her told her how beautiful she was. Of all the foxes she knew, Era was sure that Riku was on the top of the list for deserving to be called beautiful. But the reaction Riku gave was very encouraging. She didn't look or cringe away from the compliment or wink. That was a good sign.

Era caught herself and tried to force the thoughts away. She didn't want to get her hopes up to soon. Even if Riku didn't mind her being also a vixen, Riku was only interested in painting her. Era repeated this to herself a few times, trying not to look to deeply into things. Finally Era cleared her head enough to follow Riku out the door of the shed.

"Human made." She replied, almost absentmindedly. "I've seen enough of natural for awhile."

Nodded, she glanced back to shut the door without actually shutting it, padding off. She checked to see if she was following, pleased when she was, and lead the vixen.

She paused before a man-made fountain, the water changing color every few seconds. She sat down, tail flicking lazily. "We are in the nicer part of the city." She mewed, checking back for Era. "There is a place where art is posted all over the front, but I can't enter." She grumbled at this, she really wanted to enter the art museum but, hrm.

"This place has plenty of food and places where you can just walk up and steal jewelry." She should steal a trinket for Era later...
