I normally wash my hair only every other day, and shampoo it and condition it with whatever Dar buys because I'm not too picky about the brand / products, and blow dry my hair after. I washed my hair two days in a row (yesterday and today) just because (I know it's different for everybody, but I've heard you can wash your hair too often and wash out the good oils) and this usually works for me because it seems fine, and it's not like it was gross or dirty before, but omg, my hair is sooo much softer than normal, I will be washing my hair every day from now on. 4laugh

Whenever I use Brandon's Head and Shoulder's shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp, my hair is so ******** soft I can't stop touching it all day.

this is a bad idea.
sooner or later your hair will stop being so soft and seem really knotty or brittle. i mean, if it never does, then awesome. but hair isn't meant to be washed every day.
i do know people who can wash their hair every day but really it's just ridic.

I will in the summer simply because I sweat more and working 12 hour shifts, jumping in and out of an ambulance really makes for a greasy nappy head. But every other season I only wash every day or two.

Angi your hair is soft because it's dead. You know this.

Uh Safety Feature, all the hair that is visible is biologically considered dead, fyi. Doesn't matter if it's soft or hard.
Anyway, I used to wash my hair every day when it was short and blow dried it. I don't think my hair ever suffered that much, although it possibly got oily quicker, I don't remind what my hair was like before.
Eventually it just got too time consuming and expensive (in terms of conditioner/shampoo) when it grew longer though. So now I wash every other day. But I still feel like my head is abnormally itchy on the days I haven't washed it.
But meh, I say if it works for you, go for it. The great thing about hair is that it is dead, but it'll grow back. If you mess up your hair, you can start again. Permanent damage to hair is rare, usually as a result of ******** up the hair follicles, but if you're only affecting the visible hair shafts, then I doubt there's really much you can do in the way of damage.

I still don't get this. I've washed my hair almost every day for 30 years and this has yet to happen. If I don't wash my hair, it smells awful (yes, if I don't wsah it, it stinks enough that I can smell my own scalp) and gets greasy and limp. Two days is the most I can push this without smelling like a hobo.
It feels awful and matted if I don't wash it every day. I went through my early teen swithout washing my hair often and it smelled and looked hideous.

I used to wash my hair every day and I was fine. I think my hair would get greasy faster, but since I was washing every day, it didn't matter! Now i wash every other day (or every two days, sometimes) mostly just because it uses less shampoo. :3
