OOC and Rolls http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=21545967You find yourself in the 'Command Chamber' of the large unoccupied ship that you had just successfully obtained from the loading docs. (The way I am limiting only to the parties imagination.) The party all sits around the large table around a map of The River Styx. The ship has yet to be explored except what is the large deck and the 'command chamber' you are currently siting. In one corner stands a tall beautiful women dressed in thick but revealing mage robs. She told everyone upon the party taking the ship that she is the only one that knows how to sail the ship and without a crew the ship will not be able to stay running long. She also told everyone her name was eve. (That makes it your choice how to start things out.)

One of the deserters, a giant of a man with a frighteningly-scarred visage and a scowl thereupon, stared at the map. He could read maps just fine, but he hated doing it. They always had so many odd squiggles and symbols that made no sense whatsoever. Admittedly, reading was never his 'thing', but still, he could read, dammit, and these made no sense! "Hmph. So, any bets on how fast our superiors realize we've off and deserted on this tub?" He adjusts his bronzed and knotted arms under a stitched hide tunic, adjusting himself within his stiff breeches. "Wherever we go, we should get there before they find out and get pissed."

The feral looking man in the corner snorted awake at the most recent exchange of words. He didn't even glance at the map on the table. "They shouldn't notice real soon, it would've taken a while to get the ship to them." Krean scratched himself absently and continued, "More importantly, how do we know the pretty mage-lady over there is gonna' take us where we want to go?"

Another deserter grumbled from outside the ship, leaning his draconic eye near the window. "He has a point you know. We should have a fair amount of time before they suspect anything is amiss." The dragon snorted with disgust. "Even as vile as he is." Harrow had taken the form of a local breed of a dragon, aptly named the Styx Dragon, known for swimming the river's infinite length.
"Have you any suggestions as to where we should be going? I am open to anywhere you might have in mind." His voice rumbled out of the draconic mouth.

(1 power point spent on repletion)
Despite standing slightly askew of the chamber he might as well not be there as his constant invisibility gave him the exact opposite of a striking visual presence. Akiris made sense of the recent goings on. They had gone AWOL and were discussing where to go and if they could trust the ship handler to take them there. In his that situation was aces' as long as didn't pull something relatively lethal. Dropping the blame for issues returning due to a necessary but surly prisoner..... better than the truth at any rate.
He then turned to brainstorming possible destinations. (Knowledge: The Planes check. 36)

Eve takes a step toward the table and waves her hand over the map. 3 cites on the map begin to faintly glow the same dark purple as her robs. "If I may sirs, these locations are the the closest if you would like or if you have something in mind i can take you anywhere you would like to go. The ship in its currant state however wont make it as far or nearly as fast as it could travel however." The cites on the map for those who look are Pandora (Aka: The Gate to Pandemonium) Gravea (Aka: Gehenna's Archway) and Mortita the undisputed capital of Styx.

The burliest of the deserters gave almost a 'Harrumph'. "We should probably get out of this territory soon. Our superiors will eventually come looking for us here, and as far as the natives are concerned, we're the enemy. I don't trust Mortita, so that leaves Gehenna, which we might be able to get away with by citing 'unexpected delays, but we're on our way' to buy some time, or straight to Pandemonium, which clears us completely from both sides' jurisdiction."

"Pandemonium sounds like it could be interesting. But it would be helpful if we had a goal in mind." Harrow rumbled from outside the ship. "Other than get away really fast anyway." He swam idly near the ship, its speed not consequential to his current forms abilities. He considered swimming ahead or maybe towards th banks. Anything to relieve the oppressive gloom.

"Eh, anywhere'd be better than this place" growled the shifter, and then as an afterthought, Though somewhere with less fire than land'd be nice.

Eve turns and walks back over to the spot she stood in before and remains silent as if pre-programmed to do so. The ship aimlessly floating slowly down the river as time passes.

"According to our orders the enemy will be crippled without this gear, so they will naturally attempt to take this ship and its contents back from us. That would suggest making a beeline back home a terminally bad idea as I assume any forces they could spare will be rushing to cut us off. However, if we make a break for Pandemonium we should be able to escape most of their elements by the time we get out of the warzone. We should be able to bribe anyone we need to with the very expensive loot this ship is carrying and then hopefully our pursuers will be prevented from attacking in force for fear of provoking a second enemy and making their situation worse. Once we are out of the threat of unholy hell bearing down on us then we start counting eggs. Any objections?"

"Right." The burly man rises to his feet, and saunters out onto the ship deck. "SERGEANT, REPORT ON THE DOUBLE!" he bellows across the deck, his voice carrying. Having a squad of 61 fellow deserters under his boot certainly helped. Well, they weren't *completely* under his boot, of course... The warrior never had the patience to be a tyrant. All the same, these men would likely follow him anywhere. Hopefully, that included Pandemonium.

A vary tall Tiefling wearing black and gray (The colors of the Acheron military) full plate armor steps forward from the band. "Ragnarok reporting sir." The band shifts behind him some looking uncomfortable others worryed some happy. The band all in uniform lines showing the years of regimenting thay have all gone through. All of them ware similar black and gray armor signifying rank. The privets wearing chain, first class wearing scale Specialists in studded leather, Corporals in half-plate. The whole band with the exception of the 'mules'. A group of humans in the back that are carrying all the gear not currently being used by the rest of the ranked men. All of them lightly trained in combat. Among the mules however mixed in are a quite a fue Specialists. One of the young Specialists in the back come to the front with Ragnarok. Gurkuul knows him as the brain in charge of the teams tactics. Who never leaves the young strong Tiefling's side.

"Well, Sergeant, you've probably already guessed at my plans." the man grinned. "Sad fact is, though, if we're gonna bolt in this tub, we're gonna have to make the tub run. That's where you boys come in. I don't know how much experience you have on the water, but we got an associate that seems to know how to make this ship go. The lady's name is Eva. She's a civilian, so respect her orders, but do not salute. And always remember: I supersede her. Questions?"

Harrow layed his massive head on the deck, flashing his teeth. "I have one." His voice rumbled from the draconic maw. "Can I... have anyone who... disagrees?" The eyes looked at the men hungrily. "I'm sure I could help with... discipline."
He wrapped himself more firmly around the bow. "It would be a... pleasure." The voice sent chills up the spines of lesser men. Which consisted of the entire squad of subordinates.
