West was running. He had been running every morning since his stint in Fitness Club forced him to come to the conclusion that he was as out of shape as, well, Barth probably was. He didn't know. Maybe the sloth demon was a distance runner or something, but West doubted it very sincerely.
He continued to run. He ran past the Undead dorms and the Reaper dorms and the Ghost dorms, down to the forest where... who was that? There was an extremely pale ghoul nosing around all by herself at the edge of the tree line. Remembering the last time he had picked a fight with a strange ghoul, West almost turned and started back to his dorm, but he stopped himself, partially because he was curious about this weird student he had never seen before, but mostly because he was tired.
"Hey!" he called, jogging halfheartedly over to the tatzelwurm and narrowing his eyes at her. "What're y'doin'ere?"

Surely there was a wood of some sort nearby she could hike in. She could go for some exploring right about now. Trailing aimlessly around the campus, eyeing all the tall buildings she finally came across a line of trunks. Alrighty! Standing there looking for various ways in, Levi didn't expect anyone else to approach her. Her ears twitched at the voice of a gruff sounding boil.
She turned to face his direction with unfocused eyes, slowly.... transforming.... to wide starring eyes. Coupled with a wide grin. This one ain't as small as Demi. Possibly a tough fella? She began to walk towards the boil as she answered. Lookin' fer an alright route in'ta this 'ere forest fer sum rompin' is all. What's yer- she paused noticing two things:
Tail (ODD) Ears (???...ODD)
Well I'll be gosh darned in a ditch. What kinda critter are ya?! If pointing was deemed impolite, Levi's choice to get closer to the boil, examining him, would be x10 worse than that. She leaned in closely (they were eye-to-eye) and her eyes narrowed, trying to find the answer hidden in the back of his skull. Then, switching slightly upward, her brow furrowed as well when she promptly put a finger and thumb to the boil's right horn. It's solid like stone!

What was it with ghouls and his horns? West made a slight sound of disgust as this odd student pinched at one of them, and he backed away a touch. It wasn't like he could feel her fingers or anything, he simply had no desire to be manhandled by someone he had just met.
"Critter? What?" he said, his brows dipping slightly at the center with his usual scowl. "I'ma demon," he said, a hint of haughtiness slipping into his tone. He might not have dwelled on it as often as others of his ilk, but West was actually a bit proud of his heritage and grateful that his kind had a clear and necessary purpose. He wasn't quite sure what he would have done with himself if he awoke one day to find he was a monster or a ghost. Not hat he knew what to do with himself as it was, but he hoped Amityville would help him with that eventually.
"What kinda... critter're you?" he parroted, flicking a finger at one of her fluffy white ears.

A demon?...demon, demon. Levi crossed an arm against her middle and tapped her chin with her other free hand in thought. Listening to the boil and studying his physical reaction, she playfully rocked back and forth on her heels. He looked pretty certain and serious about this demon factor, so the ghoul gathered they must be an important part of his being. Nodding in approval of this devotion to his kin, Levi moved back in towards him in order to continue her inspection. She hadn't expected him to return the curiosity, picking up on his light mockery as he flicked her ear; an automatic ear twitch occurring in response.
Yeeeehehee~ ya sure gotta'lota spunk, don'tcha? Imma tatzel kinda critter. Don't gather ya know 'bout ma kin none, huh, demon Levi didn't so much expect a response from him in regards to her kind. So far, all the students she'd met hadn't known about her secluded mountain folk. She did, however, decide that he was holding out on her somehow. He's definitely got fight in'im Like a creature of it's own, Levi's tatzel tail went around the boil to take hold of his tail. Coiling the end around the thinner stem of the demon's tail, she tugged playfully while examining its potential strength. Don't look none like ya'll'er strong by yer tails.
She smirked, purposefully now wanting to see just what a rough demon boil was made of.

"Tatzel? Hmm'ey!" He had been formulating a scathing reply, something suitably snarky for this... tatzel to chew on, when she grabbed his tail with hers and pulled on it like he was one of those silly talking human toys his uncle had gone on about once after one too many glasses of screaming whine.
He tried to free his tail by its strength alone, but she was right on that front at least. West's tail wasn't made for grabbing and yanking. At best, it helped him balance and could be used as a whip in emergencies, at worst, it was simply decorative.
"Looks'kin be deceivin'," he said with a smirk of his own. "I can't..." He paused, glaring behind him at her pale, invading tail. "...do whatever tha'is. But I'm strong'nuf fer you." West punched his fist into his opposite palm and narrowed his eyes at the ghoul.

She blinked at first, trying to make out the words. Ya' sure do hava funny way 'a talkin'. Mind speakin' bit more clearly next time soes I kin git an understandin' better? She paused to take the time to process and decompress the words coming from the demon. Boil, yer best bets takin' yer own advice thar. Uncoiling her tail, she moved back a step or two and seemed to be going back to an unthreatening plain stand. Sported a small innocent smile, she did not leave eye contact when he made his punching gesture.
Then her tail moved again. The end lined itself up to the ground and pressed down hard, taking in her full body weight. If viewed in slow motion, one would note the white-haired ghoul being lifted off the ground by her tail alone, bringing her knees high up in a sort of sit with a building wide grin. Yer advice- I'm 'agreein' that looks 'er deceivin' He definitely reminded her of the boils back home with his punch gesturing and smirky expression. Let's give it a go then.
Without warning, it happened; Levi furrowed her brow again, brought her knees up to her chest and pushed off with both feet together. A slight rolling hum of a meow melted into a hiss as her feet kicked off hard into the demon's chest; teeth now fully exposed. The shock rippled through her with satisfaction.

He scoffed when she asked him to speak slower. West was vaguely aware that he tended to rush, well, everything, but he firmly believed that life was too short to take one's time. Even with the knowledge that this was his philosophy, he rarely thought about his tendency toward haste. It was a part of him, as much as his near-constant anger. The funny thing was, he had never actually been called on it. Not that she was one to talk. West was having to pay more attention than usual in order to decipher her backwoods drawl.
"Too quick fer ya, kitty?" he sneered. His voice trailed off slightly as she let go of his tail only to stand on her own and...
The sound West made when Levi's feet made contact with his chest was a cross between an oof and an urk. Damn ghouls and their damn surprise attacks! He really needed to start anticipating these sorts of things, especially when he was the one provoking them. He staggered back, bringing a hand to his chest. He coughed. He smiled.
"b***h."
West lunged for the ghoul, throwing all of his strength into a punch that he hoped would land... somewhere. The urge to smash was rising and he honestly wasn't all that interested in the specifics anymore.

Yep. Quick. That's what ya are! She snickered; there were multiple meanings/insults in this suggestion and she felt so clever for realizing it after the fact.
An eyebrow raised at the word he used to define her as a visible smile arose from his lips. Oh- so that's how it was going to be. Aye-! Ya givin' me lip, boil?!
Then he was right where she wanted him. Typical- first thing to fly was a fist. She decided to throw him a curve ball. Normally the boils would know her well enough not to trust all her tricky movements, but since this was their first time ever seeing each other...
...the demon was going to get a bit of trickery.
Levi, now sturdily standing on both feet, moved into his punch face first. He was quick to move so she tried to make it seem like she was going to try and counter punch him in return, stopping with her knuckles digging into his gut. Her jaw, however, felt like it was just smashed into by a rock. She fell.
She fell on her side and proped herself on her hands slowly, staring at him. Her eyes were wide as she frowned. Ya...ya hit me. How could'ya do that?! She placed a hand over her cheek and was soooooooo huuuuurt............really. No trickery.

Taking another hit to his vulnerable midsection so soon after the first probably wasn't the best idea. West shrugged off the pain, as always, but his chest and stomach felt looser somehow, like they had attracted the attentions of a meat tenderizer. The ghoul hit hard.
This was going to be fun.
Or maybe not.
West frowned down at the tatzel after she fell. "Come at me'gain'n I'll showya how," he muttered. If she went down that easily, making ghouly eyes and excuses, maybe she wasn't as tough as he thought. He huffed out a disgruntled sigh, then turned to leave. "Y'ain't worth m'time."

She just listened and observed. Waited. Then the thing she'd been waiting for finally happened. Gotcha As soon as those green eyes faced away from her, she promptly moved into a crouching position and bared her teeth.
N' bingo was his name' o Just like a moth to the flame. The boil was going to take it easy on her and retreat. Bad move. She actually laughed when she leaped onto the demon's back, arms twisting around his neck. She wrapped her legs around his already worked midsection for that wonderful salt-on-the-wound effect. Prove I ain't, demon~ Her tail at this point remained free to curl in her delight of the attack. She happily continued to squeeze at the boil's neck instead.

What? Had she lost her mind? West had the inclination to turn back around to ask her what in the hell she was talking about, he was just about to, in fact, when - FWOOMP! - a squirmy, crushing weight slammed into his back. The ghoul knocked him forward and he almost fell over, but managed to catch himself before they both ended up in the dirt.
He shouted once as she started to choke him, then punched at her legs where they were curled around his stomach. This was not happening.
"Not... again," he grated, refocusing his pummeling attempts from her legs to her arms. He began to skitter backwards, as quickly as he could without toppling, in the hopes that he would miraculously back into a tree and crush this ghoul's spine.

Levi was a tad surprised at the choice of words he'd managed to mutter out with his remaining linguistic freedom. So! this ain't yer first rodeo, eh boil? I figured, but ya gotta speak up. Can't hear ya none... She tried to parallel her elbows under his jaw as she squeezed. It was when he jolted back that she began to worry. Yep. He was going to try and beat her off. Evidence resided in the stings of his punches at her gripping legs.
mmmrrhhhhsssssssss!!! She fumbled a bit on her grasp of his neck when her now perfectly vertical back lined up with the bark of a tall tree. Resisting the urge to black out at the sudden shock, the tatzel removed one arm and wrapped it under his arm to dig her claws into his shoulder from the front. Need to slow down those guns. That all ya got?! Sporting a smirk from behind, she was determined to take this one down.

West gulped in a mouthful of air when her grip loosened for that split second, then he foolishly used most of that breath to scream out a string of progressively more violent curses. At least he had managed to get a proper hit on her again, but if she kept strangling him like this, he was going to go down sooner rather than later. He had no intention of going down.
It was time to take drastic action.
Ever since he had learned they existed, West had hated his wings. His father's were proper wings in his opinion, large and black with liberal spatterings of deep red at their feathery tips. Most of the time they could barely be seen, but they never truly went away, and unlike West's they could be used anywhere, not just where there was enough FEAR. The boil had inherited his mother's pale, fluffy monstrosities and although they were fine on a ghoul, he thought they were an utter embarrassment on him. Truth be told, he might have grown to like them over the years if his parents hadn't made fun of the things every time he was forced to use them.
West let go of her arms and stopped beating at her legs, using what remained of that breath he had taken to sprint forward and leap into the air, his wings flaring into existence with their customary drop in air pressure. Because of her proximity to his back, they had appeared further away from him than he was used to and he flapped wildly to compensate. He vaguely hoped a sudden wall of white feathers in combination with the slap of branches from the surprise tree they were flying through (hello tree!) would surprise her enough to let go.

He was a bird. A cussin' bird. New surprises were really coming down on her within the short time that she'd been in this school. In all the time she'd been fighting with those boils back home, never did they take flight. Sure, there was air attacks but- wings. Wings (she really had no other way of describing the obviously feathered things that suddenly appeared) meant sustainable flight. Right?
That led to trouble for Levi; tatzels jumped with use of their tails well into the sky (a signature pride to her kin), but eventually they would need to return to solid ground. They didn't stay airborne. So, when her new squeeze toy decided to take off and propel them into a tree, she did what she did best- bounce. Her head ducked and her eyes were clenched shut while she held on for all she was worth. The tatzel hissed at the branches whipping away at her during the unsteady (and rapid) flapping of the...white fluffy...blood red-tipped wings.
Baring the tree assault, she opened an eye just enough to try and make out the branches as they passed. At first chance, she coiled her tail and sprang against what looked like a large sturdy branch. She also did this in unison to the demon's flapping just as his wings were outstretched enough to take in a new gust of wind from the spring's force. The two student shot up above the treetops. For one shining moment, at the peak of the spring's force, they were even weightless. Levi opened her eyes again to overlook her safe position......? Air. She was in nothing but air now.... dangit. bright idea.

Admittedly, the whole tree idea had been a poor one, but that was probably because it was less of an idea and more of a mistake. The move earned him a handful of breaths at least, but as West prepared to turn around and dive, his new ghoul backpack used her considerable tail strength to fling them upward at what was, for a moment, a truly face-melting speed.
His stomach dropped as they shot higher, and even though he had been raging on the ground, West found that he was grinning in the air. He certainly hadn't lost this fight yet, and he wasn't planning on doing so. It was somehow easier to see that from up here where there was nothing else to see. This was kind of fun, but, like so many other things, that was not something he would readily admit. It wasn't every day he found someone so willing to challenge him.
They hung in the silent air, a good distance above the trees, and then instead of diving properly, West closed his wings a touch and they swiftly began to fall. Let's see how she liked plummeting to her potential death.
