Oh how the mighty have fallen. Melethia had gone from a queen, to a well dressed mage, to being declared insane, to now an escaped criminal who is fleeing the country in only rags. She had ran from the asylum to the forest and did her best to stay hidden. The human interaction was almost non-existent. There were one or two times she ran into someone. They didn't recognize who she was. Those people thought she was just a homeless person wandering in the woods. They gave her a little bit of food and let her be. She didn't kill them, that would have drawn attention to her and she didn't need it.

With all the animals that were in the woods Melethia did get back to her normal weight and figure. She was still though those same rags from the asylum. Her hair was a mess as well. She knew she would be able to steal some stuff once she got to Sentria. It was a desert country, she knew how it worked because she lived in one before she came to Learania. People stole things and women. Woman became sex slaves, granted Melethia was not going to let that happen to her. She's kill the men who tried anything like that to her.

After a bit of time Melethia had made it to the desert country of Sentria. The very hot air and sand felt like home to her. She started making her way to a village. She could smell the people from a distance. She was able to make her way to the village in about a day. Granted she stole from some poor sap who was traveling alone. Now she would live and he would be another victim of the desert. He had food, water, clothes, and money. She at least let him keep his clothes so he would die with some dignity left.

Her first trip was to a clothing store. Melethia had to rough a guy up to let her shop with some form of peace. She went with white instead of her normal black since white doesn‘t absorb heat and black really does. As she put some gloves on someone noticed the scar on her hand and asked her about it.

“It‘s really something I don‘t like to talk about.” She said. The half-dragon‘s next trip was to a weapons store. That was a little harder to manage to get what she wanted. There were a few men trying to kidnap her. She grabbed the nearest weapon, a sword, and had to slice one of those ******** in half to let them know she was serious. The owner of the store was surprised at Melethia‘s skill with a sword because once again it was a woman not submitting to be a sex slave.

“My father always wanted his children to learn how to fight.” She stated. It may have sounded odd to the owner, but it was the truth. Melethia‘s father wanted his children to learn how to use a sword. Melethia though preferred the power of magic. The sword skills never did quite go away. She wasn‘t as good as someone who normally fights all the time with a sword, but she would get by.

As she looked around the store, she saw that the place didn‘t have any tomes. The place was mostly axes, there were some swords, the lances and bows were very little in numbers, and there was a good selection of knives. The half-dragon then look at the sword she picked up. It was a curved iron sword. She was able to wield it with one hand, which suited her.

“Is there any idea where I can find tomes?” She asked. The store owner looked at her like she was stupid. Melethia‘s eyes narrowed a bit and she growled, letting her fangs show a little.

“Th-th-the capital has tomes ma‘am.” The owner answered. Melethia‘s glare lessened a little. She walked out of the shop with the sword that she of course did not pay for. The owner was a little intimidated to give her a price. By the time he got over the intimidation, she was long gone.

Melethia shopping continued with the ‘purchases‘ of a map, food, water, some cloth, and a camel. She then fixed her hair a little and headed for the capital so she could get the tomes she desired.

Legault

'Just over the hill and...wonderful! More desert!' thought Legault, his expression as bitter and hopeless as the situation he was in right now. What had he done to deserve such a divine prank? Legault, the former 'cleaner' of the infamous Black Fang of Elibe, was quite aware of the dirty dealings of his past and whatnot that may have constituted some higher being to punish him, but goodness - at least he'd been trying to repent! After Eliwood's party had defeated that insufferably persistent Fire Dragon back on Valor, Legault had parted ways with the group and gone throughout the land to help the remains of the Black Fang piece their lives back together. Even though he could be considered a traitor, he figured it didn't really matter since the group was dissolved anyway.

It was during this time that he'd woken up one morning, opened the door of the abandoned house he'd been staying in for the night, and suddenly found himself face-first in the sands of an unknown world. Since then, he'd been shuffling through the desert as best he could, quite glad he'd had all his equipment with him when he'd stepped through that blasted doorway. The water had all but run out, though...and he could hardly bear to eat the bread with such a dry mouth. He was also sweating like a pig, but he didn't bother to take his clothes off - the last thing he needed were heavy burns all over his body. The first thing he did need, however, was the sweet replenishing liquid that was water...and soon.

It was at this time that Legault noticed a figure in the distance. Squinting, he saw that it was a camel with a fiery-haired woman on top of it. "Looks like i'm going to have to play beggar this time around," he mumbled, sighing and forcing his feet onward. There was no way he could swipe anything from this person - not with her being able to spot him quite easily from virtually all directions he could come from. Besides, taking stuff from a person traveling through the desert wasn't like snatching treasure from chests or from clueless enemies. If something like that were to happen, the person being robbed may just find themselves ending their lives by feebly crawling through the blistering hot desert...and that was a fate Legault wouldn't wish on a lot of people, especially not now when he was being subjugated to it himself.

The former Hurricane of the Black Fang stepped in front of the camel's path from farther away and began walking closer. He waved his hand to get the woman's attention and showed that his other one was not grasping any weapons...of which he had a Killing Edge and a Rune Sword, still strapped onto his belt. He fully intended on asking the woman for water when she got closer, but couldn't find it in him to yell at the moment.

Melethia had been traveling in the desert for a few days now. She had made sure her supplies stocked. It was easy for her since she would sweet talk for a little bit and then threaten them with a sword. The gave her what she needed and she let them be.

As she was riding her camel something caught, Melethia's eye. It looked like a guy.

"Looks like he's trying to get my attention," She said to herself,"But why is he wearing that dark clothing. He looks like he should be sneaking around somewhere not trying to get my attention. He looks better than most of the men I've see since I've gotten to this country. I think his hair is lavender too."

She started to slow the camel down. For some reason, she wanted to help this guy. Once the camel stopped she got a better look at the guy. She noticed the scars on the guys face and suddenly the scar on her face felt itchy. She ignored the feeling for the time being.

"You got my attention," She said, "Is there something you want from me?"

Legault

Legault fancied himself as a man who could roughly make out a person's nature from a first glance. Naturally, he'd been wrong a few times - like with Jaffar. He'd never expected the Angel of Death of all people to turn his coat, and yet he'd done it just for little Nino's sake. He'd also been right a lot too, one obvious case being with Eliwood's bunch during their fight with Marquess Darin. At the moment, however, he was getting the vague impression that this woman was dangerous. Maybe it was the fact that she was traveling the desert alone, or maybe it was that those scars spoke of a past as such. Legault's, too, may have said something similar, but he never really thought of himself in that sort of light.

Whatever the thoughts in the back of his head, though, Legault wasn't about to deprive himself of getting what his body sorely required. He smiled as charmingly as he could and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a sleeve before speaking. "Ah, well you see, i'm in a spot of trouble here. I seem to have...hm...stumbled upon this vast pile of cursed sand and find myself without water or direction. I wonder if you might have a canteen I could borrow for a moment?"

"Stumbled?" Melethia said with some confusion, "Did you happen to go through a door to a place you thought was something you knew and it turned out you aren't in you're own world anymore?" From what he just said, she had a good idea he wasn't from around here. She still kept an eye on him just to make sure though. She wasn't going to get caught by surprise if he was pulling a trick.

Legault

Legault had his mouth agape for a moment before he composed himself and chuckled nervously. "Heh, that was much too good for a guess. Could it be that you too are a victim of this cosmic prank?" he asked, finding it hard to believe that it could be anything else but that. His thirst was set aside momentarily to process this strange bit of information and size up the woman a bit more thoroughly.

"Quite a few actually. People from various worlds have ended up in this world. Though a lot of them are in another country. How you ended up here in Sentria and not Learania is weird. Everyone I knew back in Learania ended up in there," Melethia said. Then she remembered that the man wanted water.

"Oh yes you said you wanted some water." She gave him a spare canteen she had stolen from someone, not that he need to know. "It's a spare one I have. So what is your name?"

Legault

"Hmm...curious, very curious. It's comforting to know that i'm not the only one to have been so suddenly relocated into this...world. I've never so much as heard of those places you just mentioned in my entire life, so I can only assume given from what you told me that this indeed is another dimension...if I haven't gone mad, that is," ventured Legault, mostly thinking aloud. If he hadn't known of the world beyond the Dragon's Gate, the idea of parallel dimensions would never have even come to mind, the reason being that it simply sounded otherwise ridiculous. There were many questions that came with this conclusion of his, of course, but it was a start. For now, though, Legault decided not to dwell on it anymore, at least not until he got to civilization.

Legault took the offered canteen gratefully and uncorked it as soon as he had it in hand. Being careful to not force it down all at once, he slowly took a prolonged swig until he was satisfied. There was nothing he could do to beat the heat, but at least he'd got some clean drinking water with him at last. He nodded at the women appreciatively and took a moment to affix the lid back onto the precious water-canteen before answering her. "The name's Legault, and again I thank you for the water. Come to think of it, I do believe you saved my life. If you don't mind, may I have your name as well?"

"Well I can tell you a little about where we are now. This is Sentria, a desert country." Melethia stated, "As for who I am, I'm Melethia Dagon." So he had no clue where he was. She had a strange feeling that she should help him. Maybe it would help her a little.

"I think we can help each other out. This country is known for making women their slaves." She stated. "I'm heading to the capital, that is probably worse. I'll take you to the capital, if you promise to help keep some men off of me."

Legault

Legault nodded politely as the woman introduced herself, also making sure to take a mental note of this place he was in being called Sentria. He didn't know if there was a way back to Elibe, but he figured getting to know this world's set-up couldn't hurt. There may or may not have been a reason he was relocated to this world, but for now he decided to operate on the assumption that he'd be stuck here for a while if not forever.

As she stated her proposal, Legault couldn't help but smirk to himself. "So, the lady needs an escort, is that it?" he said, looking somewhat amused. Then adopting a thoughtful expression on his face and looking over Melethia once more, he spoke again. "Well, Melethia, if you're this far along into the desert with a camel and other supplies to your credit, it seems you've done well enough...in fact, I'd think you could handle yourself just fine. If you feel like you need my assistance, though, I would be more than happy to oblige."

Legault figured it'd be mutually beneficial for the two of them to partner up for the time being. Besides, if she was heading toward civilization, that was obviously where he wanted to go too.

"I just want the random men to leave me alone," Melethia said. "A good number of men tried to make me one of the little toys. If they see me with a man, maybe they will think differently, or attract more people too me because a man is with me but I don't look like a little whore." Melethia really didn't want to think of what could happen when she got to the capital. She needed to just not be alone when she got there.

"If you are going to help me then get on Legault," She stated.

Legault

Legault's signature smile finally seemed to stick by this point, his uncertain crawl through the desert ended by the arrival of this women who bore supplies and information. "Well then, Melethia, I'll gladly do whatever I can!" he said, unscrewing the water bottle's lid and raising it to his lips before adding, "here's hoping my knives will serve you well in the time we're together." He then took another swig, savoured it for a moment as if it were a fine wine, and swallowed. He was understandably looking quite relieved to have found water and a ride out of the desert...or at least from the unpopulated part of it, anyway. Without further ado, he made his way over to the camel and climed on.

[I don't know if the camel was bending down low enough for him to get on, so I just assumed it was.]

As the camel rose up there was a small smile on Melethia's face. This wasn't a smile of evil plotting, but a genuine smile. Things started to look better for her. Even though she was in a desert country were a lot of woman became slaves, she was at least able to defend herself. She wasn't able to do that in the asylum.

Melethia made the motion necessary to make the camel move again. The journey to the capital would take a few more days, but there would get there ok. She had stolen quite a bit of stuff and after getting good enough looks at Legault made her think he was good at stealing too. She was sure this was going to work out while they were here.

-----------------Time Skip---------------------

After a few days the duo end up right outside the capital.

"Well," She said as the camel was making it's way closer to the city, "Here we are the capital. This is where I expect some trouble to be. This is why I asked for some help. I expect this place to be crawling with bandit and men who would just LOVE to have a woman like me as a slave. Be ready Legault."

Legault

Legault nodded at Melethia before remembering he was behind her. "Right, I'll keep a sharp eye out," he assured, not really expecting to run into any real difficulties. There were few thieves who could successfully steal from them with Legault around, so the real concern were those bandits and slavers Melethia kept mentioning. There were sure some less-than-pleasant looking individuals around, he saw, but no one really stood out as someone he couldn't take on. Besides, the average petty bandit might just think twice before picking a fight with them. Legault could look pretty fearsome if he wanted to - his days as the 'Cleaner' with the Black Fang sure gave him the ability to put up a certain aura of danger at times when the situation called for it.

He also had a feeling that while Melethia was a woman with some nice, erm, assets, some people might notice her own aura of danger as Legault had. After all, she was in the capital of this patriarchal society for reasons unknown and well-armed to boot. If anything, Legault figured she could take care of herself. Still, out of gratitude and respect for the person who'd saved his life, he continued to keep watch as if she were a defenseless woman with a target on her forehead. He constantly switched hands to casually keep one near where his knives were sheathed...just in case.
