_____________The Story Thus Far
As the Sephira War ended and cleanup of the Seireitei began, the Shinigami and inhabitants of the Soul Society slowly began to trickle back into their home over the course of several months. By the time several months had passed, the Soul Society completed repairs and continued to fight off hollow, struggling between the two duties along with their others. Many things that had been put on hold, like proper funeral services and reports from the Liuetenant Commander to the Central 46 were finally underway, one report of which called for Hakase Hei's trial for forcing Hollowfication upon Hibiki Kirisho. He was sentenced to imprisonment, but his contributions to the Seireitei and removal of the Captains' hollows powers granted him a lessened sentence. Sentenced to the 2nd level prison "Mōjū Naraku", Hei said his goodbyes to his family and was imprisoned there, but not before reversing the Vizard Captain's Hollowfication.
With Hei gone, Tsukiko was once more forced to take up the position of acting 12th Division Captain, a task she accepted graciously though with small amount of worry considering she was not aware she had done it in the past and was afraid she'd fail. This worry, on top of both her parents being gone began to put a mental strain on the girl, causing her to become unfocused and belligerent towards others. Unlike before, Tsukiko did not enter a self-destructive rage spiral, but instead became sulky and inattentive, overlooking details that she would have noticed in her sleep, and neglected to eat sometimes. As time passed, she stayed later and later at the labs, locking herself in to hide herself from the rest of the world, embarrassed to be seen. Her new, erratic behavior sparked attention by her newfound friend, Nu.
In an attempt to help out, Nu shouldered her friend's workload while insisting that Tsukiko rest, leading to an unavoidable erratic sleep pattern in Nu, who in turn became more irritable with Lee, whom she had been getting close to over the years. Lee, noticing something is wrong attempts to tend to her to no avail, unsure of why her condition is not getting better. In a final bout of determination, Lee traces the source of Nu's problems back to Tsukiko, whom he soon discovers is this way due to Hei being locked up. Even though several months had passed since his imprisonment, Lee still felt like he was to blame for Nu's condition, wanting to find any way to put the blame on the man he hated.
As time continued to pass, Lee's own mind began to eat away at itself, causing a lack of sleep in him and making him generally unfocused. One day, many many months after this chain reaction began, Lee allowed his feelings to get the better of him during a training session, and upon a backfire of two of his most powerful, forbidden spells, he inadvertently and unwittingly created a rip in the space-time continuum. Without being aware of what he had done, he left the problem to stew, treating it as a minor mishap, and went about his daily life, still in a slump about everything.
As the weeks flew by, this rip grew wider and wider until one night, a white-robed, masked creature appeared in the middle of the Seireitei under the cover of darkness and began spending it's nights sauntering around the Seireitei, continuously degrading the fabric of space and time. It went noticed by a few, but these witnesses could not provide credible proof and were believed to be drunk, so the issue was never looked into. Gradually, more and more of these creatures began to appear until all of a sudden, there were ten or more roaming the Seireitei.
_____________Setting
The setting is all of the Seireitei after hours. A normal day of finishing repairs and regular duties has ended and while most lower seats are on patrol, the higher ups are getting ready to sleep or are finishing up their tasks for the day.
As Taigaa has asked of you all, you are to provide a location in each post. It MUST be outside the body of the post.
_____________Story
At first, everyone will be where they would be to prepare for the night. However, the first person to post --whomever that may be -- gets the privilege of having their RPC notice one of the creatures. Upon noticing it, he or she will attempt to engage it, and send out others to alert the captains of the intruders.
_____________Information
I've noticed in past arcs that everyone seems to posses the ability to sense others immediately, because that's usually how we believe Reiatsu sensing works. Contrary to that, most of the Captains in the SS arc were unaware of the intruders until they were told. So, with that said, I'd like to avoid having every single RPC suddenly know exactly where one of these creatures is and go right to it. Be creative; send your RPC out and have him or her bump into one of them or have your RPC get lost or something. My point is, not everyone should be automatically aware of where to go right away unless the NPC Shinigami your RPC talks to is a direction wizard.
Also, the above information for background is strictly for arc development. Like always, you can write whatever your character was doing during that time. If they noticed something amiss in the aforementioned individuals, that's fine, but be reasonable. Obviously if someone doesn't know a character very well, they likely wouldn't notice.
_____________Terms
- Avant-garde (Vanguard)
A race that was created due to Lee's mishap, the Avant-garde are being's whose very presence degrades the fabric of space-time over the course of several months. They have the power of Chronolock, which allows them to exist outside of space to the extent that their bodies do not sustain damage no matter the cause. They can take a hit, such as being cut or burned to ashes, but their solid form always reforms. This power, while appearing similar to regeneration, does not require internal energy to function, but instead relies on the fact that the Avant-garde exist outside of space, and thus, exist outside of the capacity to sustain damage.
