 Amenophis had been resting in the shade by the large lake for what seemed like hours. He had enough of the hot weather and finally sought shelter somewhere cool. What was cooler than a being under a large shade tree beside water? He certainly couldn't think of anything, sometimes he wished the gold would come off but it was what made him who he was. People thought he was royalty just because of the gold and sometimes it got him special treatment. He closed his eyes and was enjoying the feeling of no warmth or heat radiating against him.

 Caryiln Naia groaned as she walked along the lake's edge. The shade wasn't that much further, she kept telling her self. Soon the unicorn flopped down unceremoniously in the shade, a sigh escaping her. She caught something out of the corner of her eye and moved to look at it.
"Oh...I didn't realize this shade was already occupied..."
She started to get up, "I can leave..."

Amenophis was a little surprised when the mare flopped down in the shade spot. He blinked when she noticed him but he smiled at the same time. It probably looked extremely weird so he stopped. "Oh your not a bother, relax." He told her, he didn't want her to leave, sometimes he enjoyed having company.

"If you're sure." She returned the smile and organized herself in a more lady-like manner,folding her legs underneath her. "I've been walking for what seems like forever looking for a nice shaded spot along the lake. Thank you for sharing yours with me." She nodded her head politely in thanks to the stallion.

Amenophis chuckled a little and looked at her. "This spot isn't mine, I found it just like you did, no thanks are needed." He explained to her and then glanced at the water as his tail swished to keep the bugs away. He enjoyed looking at the lake because he enjoyed seeing the fish but he had company. "Name is Amenophis." He decided he should probably introduce himself.

Caryiln blushed, "Oh...then the more the merrier I suppose." Her smile became more timid at her mistake, but she tried bravely to keep it on her face. "My name is Caryiln Naia. Caryiln for short. Not that it's that much shorter or anything," She stopped and laughed, shaking her head so that her mane fell down around her, "I'm rambling, aren't I?"

Amenophis smiled at Carilyn and just raised an eyebrow at her. "Relax, everyone rambles but you can relax here." He said what he did because she was starting to make him nervous. When he was nervous, things turned bad really fast.

A few deep breaths later, Caryiln was finally feeling a little more at ease, "I'm sorry. I get nervous and everything just seems to keep going. Amenophis...that's a very interesting name. What does it mean?"

Amenophis accepted her apology and was actually surprised that she wanted to know the meaning of this name. No one that he has met yet had asked him about his name. "It doesn't really have a meaning." He told her and then glanced down at the grass. He wasn't bound to tell her that it was a name of a pharaoh.

The draft unicorn frowned, her eyes watching him. He didn't seem to like her asking about his name. She hadn't wanted to upset him, in truth, and thought that perhaps such a thing would lead to more conversation. Do I let it go or do I ask about it? Caryiln sighed, "You don't seem to like your name..." She bit her lip nervously, "I'm sure I'm out of place saying this to you, but I think it's a great name. It sounds strong, and it's certainly intriguing. Like there's more to it than meets the eye."

Amenophis sighed and figured that she would be even more interested. "Your right there is more to it, its the name of a pharaoh." He told her while looking at her but then he stood up and got into the water. He needed something to soothe him, the water was the perfect source.

Caryiln blinked back surprise. "Wow, now that's pretty neat! Does that make you a pharaoh?" She felt silly now, but he had told her to relax...so she might as well try and do it. Her curly tail flipped up along her side, swatting some of the obnoxious bugs that seemed to like to pester those who were hot. "The morning and the evening star...who would have thought he'd be right here under the same shade tree as I am?"

Amenophis nodded a little bit, he didn't really think it was that special. He wasn't anything like pharaoh, but people thought that he was but it was growing old. "I don't consider myself one, its just the name of one." He told her, he wanted to be honest and not have to lie anymore. He had no idea what she was talking about stars so he just assumed she was babbling to herself. He got to his feet and ventured out into the sun to nibble on some grass.

"Do you like it?" Caryiln tilted her head as she asked. He was hard to read, which made talking to him hard. She felt uneasy about it because she didn't want to upset Amenophis, but she didn't really want to sit in silence either.

Amenophis raised his head and looked back at the red mare. "I have to like it, people treat me like I'm royalty just because of the gold but its what makes me who I am." He turned around and walked back to her with a frown on his face.
