 Head held high, Axel cantered along next to the stream, his hooves occasionally landing in the water and making a splashing noise. Not that he minded getting wet, swimming was, after all, one of his favorite activities next to flying and looking for the next notch in on his teepee. The forest loomed to his right, and he quickly glanced over in its direction. Never can tell when the ladies might be watching, He thought to himself. The alicorn puffed himself up just a little bit more, for the benefit of any who might be hiding from his view.

 Amu had been enjoying the shade, it was an escape from the hot day. While she was enjoying the shade, a bright pink stallion caught her eye. He seemed to be one of those cocky types because he had his head held high. After observing him longer, she watched him puff himself up and she laughed out loud. She couldn't help the laughter, he just looked so silly trying to be so big and tough. Amu figured he heard her laughter so she poked out from under her shade tree. "Do you think you could puff up any bigger?" She decided to ask him but as she was asking him, she got into the stream, as if to try and stay cool longer.

The alicorn turned his most charming smile onto the mare.
"Perhaps, if given the right encouragment. Would you like to see me try it?"
Axel couldn't help himself and tried to puff up much larger, only to succeed in failing.
"I think breathing trumps the puffing up larger," he managed as he gasped for breath.

Amu shook her head and only laughed harder at the stallion. "Amu, nice to meet you puff." She decided to give him a nickname, she thought he was cute but her heart was spoken for by Kuro. She began to think that he could become something else to her, maybe a friend or a father figure even at the most? Amu began to swim around in the little stream, she was not used to staying still.

Bright blue eyes rolled, "Puff? That's not a very dignified name." He grinned and intentionally splashed in the water, "I'm Axel, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Amu." He bowed to her, "Though I think I'll let you call me Puff if you'd like. I don't get many nicknames."

Amu giggled about his comment towards Puff but she thought it suited him. "I apologize, how about daddy?" She was kidding about the nickname this time, she tried to hide her smile and giggles.

He stopped abruptly and blinked, "Well...That could work too...But I haven't really earned that one, have I?" Axel shook his head, "Not that I couldn't earn it...but we've only just met..."

Amu burst into a fit of laughter and began to try and splash him using her wings. Her playfulness was failing miserably so she took to the sky and then came back down to fly a little above him. She began to go around in circles around him. "You seem way to serious mister Axel." She began to tease him and followed suit with more laughter.

Axel jumped into the air, nipping at her playfully. His deep laugh rumbled out of his chest and he grinned, "I suppose I am, but I don't usually have anyone around who's as entertaining as you are either." He shook his head, "I don't usually have anyone around at all, for that matter."

Amu landed back onto the grass and began to run around, she was really hyper today for some reason. "Well good company is all you need sometimes." She told him as she raced past him and ran through the water to the other side.

"I agree," Axel said as he fluttered to the other side of the stream. "Have you had too much sugar, or are you always so zoomy?" He smiled at down at her. "That could be your nickname, you know."

Amu stopped moving and looked back at him, he was being serious? "I am just wanting to move around, I don't want to sit still." She told him, it was a figure of speech but it still applied. "I don't want to be called zoomy, I want a proper nickname but my name is too short." She told him, she felt like being honest and open about herself for once. She walked closer to the water but she didn't move back to the other side where he was standing.

Axel nodded, his beard tickling his chest as he did so. "You're right...Zoomy isn't a very good nickname....I'll have to think on it for a bit. Your name is rather short...and I don't want to call you Mu...you're not a cow after all..." He landed and stepped into the water toward her, "Want to walk since you don't want to stand still?"

Amu shook her head and declined his offer to walk and talk. "No I'll stand still and talk right here." She told him but instead she began to lay on the grass. She thought it was rude to walk and talk at the same time.
