Grus flinched as a rock hit her arm. She wanted to cry with frustration. The youma, twice her height, was hurling anything and everything it could at her with arms that spun like windmills. It gave a hollow roar and found a large-ish branch and threw it Grus' way. She dodged it, hiding behind a car and holding her arm. What the hell was she supposed to do!?
It had been a quiet night. She had sat on a rooftop, smoothing her skirts and dangling her feet from the rooftop's edge, marvalling at the lights of Destiny City. Sneaking out was getting easier now that she had convinced her father it was time for a lock on her door. She said goodnight to the family, locked her door, and away she went. After wandering for half an hour, Grus got bored and ta da! Sitting on a roof.
Some time later, she noticed the youma crashing through an alley, spraying the walls of the buildings with garbage and debris. She hesitated, then made her way to face the creature.
But the thought of physically hitting the thing made her stomach turn. Instead, she had stared at it stupidly, and then it starting throwing things at her.
Now she was trapped behind some poor guy's ruined Buick. She thought frantically, but no good ideas came to mind.
god DAMNIT!

Super Sailor Kallichore stood on the precipice of a nearby building, unsure of what it meant to be upgraded now. Her fuku was much different now, and as difficult as it looked with one loose boot, she could still run as much as she did before. Kallichore decided not to try and figure it out this time. Senshi magic and whatnot didn't seem to follow any real rules that she could come up with. She pulled out her phone to do a quick scan of the surrounding environment. Whether or not the phone could tell who was what power level was still unknown to her, but she didn't have much time to contemplate. Someone was very near a youma and nothing seemed to be happening between the two. She didn't want to barge in on someone's fight if it wasn't necessary - that was bad form. So the senshi of madness decided to take a look.
And she was suddenly very glad she did.
There was a youma, very tall and lanky perhaps, throwing all manner of garbage and debris at a car. The car had definitely seen better days, and was now missing a windshield and the door looked like a crater. Kallichore leaped to another building to get a look at the senshi she felt nearby - was she hiding to prepare an attack or something? Upon closer inspection, it certainly didn't look that way. Maybe she should help? Shaking her head, Kallichore dropped to street level and began running. Her new fuku additions certainly didn't make her aerodynamic like she had hoped, but what could you do?
After reaching the best speed she could, the senshi barged into the youma with her shoulder in an attempt to knock it off balance. The flying debris stopped for a moment and the youma let out a shriek of surprise. As it stumbled, Kallichore called to the senshi behind the car. "Are you alright?!"

The window above her shattered, and Grus winced and shook her head free of fallen glass shards. People around her were screaming and hiding in buildings, staring through the windows at the creature that advanced on the car. She peeked out from behind the back bumper in time to see someone bash into the youma. It stopped throwing things, and she came out from behind the car shakily as the other person called out "Are you alright!?"
She nodded, then shouted back "I'm ok!" She ran forward toward the second person.. a senshi she mentally corrected, and said "I never was good at catching things. That's why I didn't play baseball!" Grus stared at the youma, unsure of what to do.

Kallichore half expected the senshi to run out, cast her attack and be done with the youma, but such was not the case. The senshi stared at the youma with a look of apprehension as the beast tried to right itself. Kallichore looked puzzled. She thought the girl only needed the opportunity to attack, but perhaps she was new like Nunki? She taught Nunki some new things as well. Since the girl looked quite clueless, Kallichore placed herself in between the youma and the new senshi.
The super senshi (she had to remember to call herself that now) spoke over her shoulder. "I don't suppose you're new at this? I'm Super Sailor Kallichore. Pleasure to meet you." The gray haired senshi turned to watch the youma right itself finally. It looked like a lankier, weaker version of something she'd been chasing earlier. Did this piece break off and gain sentience or something? "Do you need help with this thing? If so, let me help you take it down."
I've wanted to fire off my new attack for a while, but if she's never done this before, it would serve her better to try it herself. thought the senshi, frowning. She didn't even know the girl's name, but that would change in time.

The new senshi placed herself between Grus and the youma, and she felt a bit calmer. She wasn't fighting this thing alone now.
"I am new at this." she admitted sheepishly. "I'm Sailor Grus. It's nice to meet you too. I, uh, don't really know what I'm doing right now. My attack is defensive I guess, so I can't really get rid of this thing."
Her face fell a little, the frown deepening on her mouth. She wanted to look down, hell, even sit on the ground and cry, but the throwing youma was right side up now, and it had advanced on the girls, resuming it's throwing of random objects.

She was new? Fine, that made sense. Everyone had to be new at some point. It wasn't too long ago that Kallichore herself was new.
But her attack being defensive too?
Kallichore shook her head. "If your attack is defensive, then we'll need to figure out another way to take this thing out." she explained, holding up her forearms to try and deflect the incoming rocks and trash. She wouldn't give up her position in between the youma and Grus, not for anything. Looking around, she saw the car Grus was kneeling behind was now missing the window glass and had several items in the backseat - including a baseball bat. When the opportunity presented itself, Kallichore pointed it out.
"When you're out of options, try and find an alternative." Stepping up, the super senshi called up her attack. "Surge of the Maddened!" Swinging her arms, a smokelike mist swirled up around her and flew at the youma, engulfing it. Soon, the youma would be distracted with several other targets only it could see, giving the senshi the opportunity to land a real blow. The super senshi ducked into the car window and took out the baseball bat and a crowbar she found on the floor of the vehicle. Handing the bat to Grus, Kallichore made a move towards the youma.
"Now we can strike."

Grus nodded and stared at the bat in her hand while the youma was unable to attack. He seemed to be distracted or something. Grus would ask what her power sphere was later. She fell into step beside Kallichore, holding up the bat threateningly. But her hands shook. She was going to hit this thing with a bat? How was that going to take it down?
The closer she got, the more nervous she became. Her stomach was doing the threatening now. It flipped and twisted and caused her to feel sick.
She took a deep breath, shut her eyes, and ran the remaining distance, swinging the bat at the youma. She didn't see where it hit, only felt the bat come to a stop somewhere on the creature. She gasped, taking a couple steps backwards. She wanted to drop the bat and run, but her mind told her that if she let go of that thing, the youma was going to realize it was tricked and come after her.

Kallichore could see the nervousness on Grus' face. It was not unlike the anxiety she herself once felt, and the same that she saw on other senshi's faces. Not everyone was as willing to fight as she was. Christa had a great deal of things she was fighting for - Serpentarius, the Blood Moon Court, her family... Perhaps that's what Grus needed.
But that could be decided later. came a thought as the crowbar lodged itself in what appeared to be the youma's lower jaw. Kallichore tried to dodge the swings of the creature's arms as she pulled, trying to rip what she could off of the monster. The fewer parts it had, the less likely it could cause damage. It was brutal, but since her acceptance into the Blood Moon, she couldn't afford to waste time thinking of the creature as anything more than a monster born out of darkness. All it was tryin gto do was kill people, and she couldn't allow that.
A few more good swings brought the youma to its knees. Kallichore knew it was only a matter of time then. She looked up at Grus. "Sometimes you have to use the environment to your advantage if you want to win." she explained, holding the crowbar threateningly under the youma's neck area. "But you can't back down. If you do, other people without powers will get hurt."
A swift CRACK indicated that the youma was no more, and was beginning to dissipate. Kallichore's face did not soften for Grus very much though. She needed training, and whether or not the super senshi was the person to do that would be up in the air. "Are you alright?"

Grus stood back after swinging the bat while Kallichore made quick work of the youma. There wasn't any blood, nothing spilled out of the youma when it was torn to shreds. It simply turned to dust at their feet. Just like the one before had when it had fallen off the building...
It was so easy for her to kill it. She could even give her advice while doing it.
She looked at the bat, then dropped it quickly, eyes squeezing shut. The feel of the bat coming to a stop on the creature echoed i her hands, and the THUMP it made combined with the creatures yowl rang in her ears. Her stomach was trying to twist itself in half now. She covered her mouth, opened her eyes and, without looking at Kallichore, ran to the side of the street. Back to the car that had saved her life.
When she had stopped throwing up, the world spun before her eyes. She leaned against the car, praying for a breeze to come by and cool her heated face. She didn't want to look at Kallichore, knowing that she was probably mocking her, or thought she was the worst senshi ever.

Kallichore trotted over to Grus when she saw the look on the girl's face. That was a familiar look, the one of over anxiety. The senshi in red passed by her quickly and went over to the parked car. She was definitely sick by the sound of things, which concerned the super senshi. Leaning on the side of the car, Kallichore tried not to look. If she looked, she might get sick too.
"Grus? Are you okay?"
Youma being monsters was nothing new to the senshi of madness. It didn't bother her in the slightest to kill them since all they wanted to do was kill other innocent people. She couldn't have that, not while she had the power to put a stop to it. Her heels clicked against the ground as she waited, watching as a few people were brave enough to come out of their houses to see what was happening. Were youma attacks becoming more frequent? Kallichore decided she needed to watch the news to find out whether the frequency was being stepped up.
"If you need me to, I can take you home." she offered, feeling like she had been too hard on the girl. Perhaps she should have taken the youma somewhere else? Hindsight was 20/20... Kallichore shook her head and sighed. "If you don't live too far from here, I can escort you back. Make sure nothing happens to you."

She waited for a minute before responding to Kallichore.
"I'm ok." she said weakly, coming out from behind the car unsteadily. She avoided looking Kallichore in the eyes, opting to make it look like she needed to search for something to hold on to. This was absolutely embarrassing.
But she did look up at the offer of taking her home. Weren't senshi supposed to keep their identities a secret? Did that include from eachother as well as the Negaverse? The offer sounded good, and the thought of her bed sounded even batter.
"Aren't we not supposed to, like tell eachother who we are or anything?" She asked dumbly.

Folding her hands over her stomach, Kallichore watched Grus with a critical eye. Would she come to grown into being a senshi, or will she give it up? Could someone give up something like this? Kallichore knew she couldn't put down the henshin pen even if she wanted to. "We don't have to tell each other our identities, no." she explained with a shake of her head. "That's up to the individual. Sometimes I think it's best to let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak."
The super senshi backed up a ways, allowing Grus some room to maneuver and breathe. If she wanted to be escorted home, that would be no problem at all. "Maybe after you've gotten more used to this, I can introduce you to some friends of mine. We watch each other's backs - all for one and one for all, and all that." Heels clicking against the moistened pavement, Kallichore started a slow walk in no real direction. She didn't know where Grus lived and would begin to move with prompting, should Grus decide.

Grus looked at the place where the youma had fallen, the pile of dust considerably smaller. She was too tired to worry about people, and too shaky to make it home in one piece. And Kallichore was walking away...
"Wait."
She took a deep breath, and followed Kallichore. "You said your name was Kallichore right? If your not too busy.." She trailed off, feeling woozy. "I think some company home would be nice." She offered a weak smile.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude or anything, I just..don't know ho these things work." She went on to say, taking a few steps to the left of where Kallichore was going. That was the quickest way to her house.

Upon hearing the request to wait, the gray haired senshi turned to look over her should. Her face was placid and she turned in place to face her red counterpart. Grus explained she wanted someone to accompany her, which was completely fine by the super senshi's standards. "Very well," she said with a nod and a slight smile, "just point me in the right direction and I'll get you home safely."
Crossing her arms behind her back, Kallichore maintained speed with Grus in order to speak with her as they walked. "You're not being rude." came a reply. "Everyone was new at some point. Even me." Even me not too long ago, actually. The weight of the cosmic war they were all involved in still hadn't quite settled on Kallichore's shoulders. She wasn't sure when it would be, but she knew the longer she participated, the more open her scope would become. She'd learn to see everything, to know her place and her ultimate goal.
Grus would eventually do the same, she thought. "Don't feel bad about not knowing. How much did the cat tell you?"

"How not new are you?" She asked, looking the girl over. Her outfit seemed to be falling apart in places, tattered and torn. She wondered if this was a mark of just how many battles Kallichore had been in. Grus wondered if her own fuku would end up the same way, shredded and such. She dearly hoped not. She was just starting to get used to having it, and quite liked the faint feather pattern that adorned her skirt.
She followed the first street, then turned left, gazing aimlessly at the house windows.
"She told me a lot actually." She said, "But I feel like I can't remember much of it. Probably because I was panicking a bit when it all happened." She smiled fondly at the memory of her freaking out. "I know that I am a senshi, and that the Negaverse produces youma, and the cat gave me a pen that awoke my powers. And that my power sphere is Feathers."
