The smell of sweet spices and sugar tickled Tsetsiliya's nose as she walked slowly through the school courtyards. The paper bag crinkled against her as she tightened her grip, not wanting it to cave and having treats go spilling all over the lawn. Despite her resoundingly full stomach (her stroll around the grounds had more than one purpose - one being for the exercise), the smell drew her eye and she once again looked into the bag at the sticky, sugar-coated rolls.

What in Halloween was she going to do with all of these skinnamon rolls?

Not that she certainly didn't appreciate her grandmother's enthusiasm. The massive scare package bearing her home address for the return had come as a wonderful surprise; Grandma Nadya could truly be an amazing ghoul once she put the sauce away. Tsetsiliya had plans for the two sunflowers that had been sent. The encouraging note that had come with it was taped in a place of honor on her boudoir (so she could stay oriented when at her lowest). The only expected portion of her package was tucked in a small box in her desk drawer, waiting for the right moment to be presented, which left the issue of the treats. She had already enjoyed the eyebread and a small portion of the skinnamon rolls, but she thought it such a shame to eat them all by herself.

So here she was, walking through the school courtyards on this lovely autumn day, hoping that she might run into a familiar face (if not, she contemplated dropping it with Ren, as she already had plans to go see him anyway.. or perhaps West as an apology for ditching him at the dance all that time ago). As much as she enjoyed the delicious treats, she wasn't sure she could eat much more of them without gaining a ridiculous amount of weight (not that she ever had to worry about weight gain before, but it was better to be safe than sorry).

Holly was on her way back to her dorm from possibly the most awkward encounter with a boil to date. Why were they so annoying? She sighed as she walked. Though part of it was her fault. She's decided to try on these more normal clothes instead of her normal pajamas. Him seeing said clothing was probably her fault but he didn't have to make fun of her! Blocking that from her mind for the moment she tried to think of what she had to do this day still.

Ugh. She had homework to do for some classes. Not looking forward to that at all. This school just sucked. Boils, dangerous field trips, homework. Wasn't there anything fun or not sucky?

Maybe she could go bum around somewhere. The forest? No. School? No. She could go bug someone but wasn't feeling up to it at the moment. Holly needed something to cheer her up or distract her or both.

She looked up and saw a slightly familiar face. Oh. That ghoul from the dance. She'd been West's date or something. Oh the dance. Holly wanted to forget about that forever. Riley suggested/dared her to dance with that boil and one does not cross a mindflayer. The ghoul did feel bad having had cut in on that date.

Problem. She didn't remember that other ghoul's name. Holly walked across the court. "Hey, long time no see." Name, name. She couldn't remember it. "Name's Holly, I don't think I ever introduced myself before." Something, she could smell something. It smelled amazing.

Tsetsiliya had allowed her thoughts to drift a little, the smell of sticky sweet treats dazing her senses. It was with a dogged effort that she returned to the present, hearing somebody calling from far off. A few students were wandering here and there, and as she shifted the bag a little, she finally registered someone coming towards her. The ghoul was certainly familiar, where had she seen her.. ? A timid smile crossed her face in welcome as she tried to puzzle the ghoul's identity behind said smile.. oh yes! She was West's friend from the Scarentines Dance. Upon remembering so, her mouth dried and she felt her throat constrict with guilt.

However if the newcomer had come to say anything about that, it was certainly not presented right away as she amiably greeted the poludnica and supplied her name.

"A-ah, yes, it is being a long time, yes?" Tsetsiliya's words stumbled as they normally did, and she once again moved the bag in her arms to hold her hand out for a handshake. "T-Tsetsiliya. I-it is nice to be meeting you more directly, Holly. H-How are you being?" She smiled a little less nervously now, but in holding the bag with one less arm, she felt the other begin to ache. For Jack's sake, why did her grandmother always send her so many treats? Skinnamon rolls were certainly delicious, but so terribly heavy. The purpose for bringing them out in the first place suddenly came back to her.

"O-oh! Are you liking a skinnamon roll?" She opened the top of the bag a little wider and tilted it to allow Holly a peek at the goods inside. "My grandmother is sending too many so I am happy to share!" An added bonus, she thought, was that this could be a good step towards friendship, right?

Personally she hoped the other ghoul wasn't going to bring up the dance either. From what she remembered neither seemed happy to have been there so she doubted it would come up. Holly still had a grudge against that boil for dancing with her, ugh that had been awkward.

The ghoul brought up her own hand and shook her hand back. Why was she nervous sounding? Was Holly scary, she never thought she was personally. Tsetsiliya, that was it. How'd she forget a unique name like that. "Yeah, nice to meet you properly this time. I've been good, school is school you know. You?" She looked at the bag and was about to ask about it when Tset informed her about the skinnamon rolls.

"What's a skinnamon roll?" Holly looked into the bag. Whatever they were they defiantly looked pretty good even though she didn't need to really eat. "Sure, I'll try one if you need to get rid of them! What's in them exactly?"

"I-I am being also good." Tsetsiliya nodded as she shifted the bag between her arms to give one a break from the load. Well, saying she was good was a partial lie - unless one called a jacking meltdown "doing good", but she wasn't about to say that much to anyone other than her minipets. Well, Jareth as well.. but that was only because he had happened upon her during said meltdown.

When Holly peeked into the open part of the bag, the poludnica's face lit up in a smile at the other ghoul's curiosity. "They are having melted sugar, and.. and some kind of bread, I am thinking." She paused in thought. "And cinnamon, lots of cinnamon. My grandmother is adding a special ingredient but she is not saying what it is.. still, it is being very much tasty." Despite her better judgment, her mouth started to water just by describing it. Hadn't she had enough of them to last her a week, already?

Glancing around, she spotted a bench a short ways away. Tsetsiliya beckoned Holly by nodding over to it. "Come, perhaps we can be sitting over there while we are enjoying.. if you are liking, anyway." She was happy to share her skinnamon rolls but she did not want to distract the ghoul if she were on her way elsewhere.

Holly nodded. "Good to hear you are well then. Besides classwork I'm sure right?" The ghoul grinned. It was some law she was sure that all students had to be miserable when it came to classwork. Otherwise they'd be crazy since who would like doing all the homework? She'd minipet problems of her own but wasn't about to speak up of them either.

Sugar, bread, cinnamon? She'd tried some of those before but never together like this before. How could she pass that up? Holly would have to be crazy. A special ingredient... well it wasn't like it could kill her. "Alright, twist my arm, I'll try one. I don't have anything else to do today." The fox ghoul grinned again. Bench, that seemed like a good idea.

"Yeah, lead the way. Much more comfortable to eat and sit right?" Or at least she had observed that during the lunch hours. When they got to the bench she took a seat and waited on the other ghoul. She didn't want to just take the bag from Tsetsiliya so she waited on her to offer them. "Been up to anything fun since I last saw ya?"

"The homework is being nothing that I am not managing alright," Tsetsiliya replied as they walked towards the bench, but she paused in thought and scratched her cheek. "At least, I am hoping so.. how are you managing?" Truthfully it'd been a while since she'd sat down and studied. Again, she blamed recent events. Perhaps it would be good to reinstate what her old regime had been - she needed some semblance of structure back in her life.

With Holly sitting down, she joined her on the bench and placed the bag between them. She fiddled with the edges of the paper bag as she considered the ghoul's next question: unfortunately recent events had not been too terribly fun. A lot of it she blamed on herself, but that's what she was trying to do now, right? Change for the better?

"Being honest.." Tsetsiliya paused, eyes staring distantly into the bag. "I am feeling a little, how you say, attention-starved? I am not leaving my room for a short time since we are getting home." Her fingers tapped the edge, and her head bobbed up as she thought on the matter. "Oh, but I am seeing West not too long ago! He is being very much helpful lately." She gave a decisive smile - West was a good conversation point, since they both knew him, right? She held her smile and marched the conversation on, deciding not to spend the whole time being a Debbie Downer. "Are you doing anything fun as of late?" Instead, she opened the bag more fully and reached in a long-nailed hand to grab one of the skinnamon buns. They were still warm from her room, which she kept rather hot to suit her needs best. As she pulled one out, she kind of wished she had thought of napkins but pants and sashes would have to do for the time being. She offered it to Holly with a smile.

"I am hoping you like, although too many is never a good thing." She laughed a little as she reached in for another with her free hand, dropping that one into her lap. She'd had Jack knows how many of these since the package arrived and here she was having another one. It was a good thing physical activity was a big part of her daily routine. "If you are liking, I am always receiving more from home and am happy to share."

"Yeah, I'm glad I haven't gotten a lot of homework yet so I'm kind of glad." Now that she said that, she was expecting all her classes to just pile on the work. Great. "But I can manage all the work so it's all good." Holly wasn't one to study much but seemed to do fine in classes. She'd been distracted recently too, darn boils. Blocking that thought to the back of her mind she rose a brow as the other ghoul spoke. What'd happen to the other ghoul? She seemed so nice! Wait, wait, wait. West was helping her with something, interesting. "Er, you okay? I mean, uh, anything I can help with." The ghoul scratched the back of her own neck. "What's West helping ya with, fighting?" It was the only thing she could think of that he'd actually help someone with. "If so, I could help too, or if ya need someone else to go to, about ... things." That was what ghouls did for each other right? Holly just felt sad that the other was down about something. Odd.

The turning of the conversation was welcome. She'd gotten out if Tsetsiliya ever wanted help with anything that she could help. As long as West wasn't there though, she didn't want to see him yet after that incident. "Fun. Well, joined one of the clubs, nap club or something." Holly thought for a moment. "Not fun but I didn't get this awesome 'hoodie' as I heard it called from Lizzy. It's got the tail and ears like my pajamas." Ghouls talked about clothes, right?

She reached out and tok the bun from Tsetsiliya. "Thanks, it looks good!" The thought of napkins didn't cross her mind at all. Holly took a bite of it. Jack, it was amazing. "This is really good! I never knew things like this existed." After all she didn't need to eat and rarely tried things the school offered. But this, this was great. "If you ever want to get rid of any more, I could take them off your hands." The ghoul had offered anyway. "You know how to make these or just ya grandmother?"

"It is looking very nice on you!" Tsetsiliya replied, although she had never seen Holly's pajamas truthfully so she took the ghoul's word for it. "As far as skinnamon rolls are going, I am trying to master the recipe, but it is still being a work in progress." She looked down at the skinnamon roll in her own hands. "My grandmother is always making them the best, though." She took a small bite, savoring the sweetness - of course this is what got her in trouble with controlling how many she ate. "But I am being glad you like them," she replied after a moment, swallowing. "There are always plenty coming in every scare package."

For the moment she seemed to avoid the subject of why she had been down, but she had brought it up, and it was terribly kind of Holly to offer a listening ear. Tsetsiliya still had a thing or two to learn when it came to sharing her problems too openly, though; years of ingrained habit tended to do that to a ghoul. "Well.." Her fingers tapped the bun in her hands, getting melted sugar all over them. "Yes, he is helping me with fighting. Mostly strength.. as it is mostly where I am lacking. I was being very, how to say.. unable during the Island." Did she dare go on? Already she was feeling guilt curdling in her stomach, and the skinnamon roll was looking none too appetizing anymore. Her fingers clenched into the dough. "If I am being stronger, then maybe it might help.. or I am being more useful to others anyway."

Then, just as suddenly as the bitter mood had resurfaced, Tsetsiliya blushed profusely and stuffed it back away. "I-I apologize, I should not have been going off like that!" The more she spoke, the more foolish she felt, so to quiet that she took a large bite of her skinnamon roll. Her face still glowed brightly. Chewing slowly, she swallowed, and looked to Holly, still feeling exposed and embarrassed. "I-If you are needing anyone to also talk to, my ear is always being open.." It was kind of a sudden thing to promise, but the ghoul had listened to her. She should offer the same in return, since Holly seemed like a nice ghoul.

The ghoul couldn't remember much if she had been in said pajamas when she'd meet Tsetsiliya previously. There had been the dance which she'd obviously not been in them but another time? She couldn't remember. "I bet they are still good though yes? If you ever need someone to taste test, I'd be more than happy too." Second opinions didn't hurt right? "Hard to compare to the original. Or that is what I heard." Haven't really cooked much herself but Holly thought it seemed like it made sense. She took another one and started to munch on it.

Another bun finished before the other ghoul decided to talk. She knew well that Tsetsiliya would talk if she wanted to. It was not very strange sounding that West was helping someone with fighting. If he was good at teaching one thing, she hoped it to be that. Oh, the island. "A lot of us on the island that should have been able to take care of ourselves ... weren't able to." She had fallen herself. Fallen and thought dead by the others. She knew she wasn't since the ghoul could remember previous events. One good thing about being dead already. "Don't worry, come the next event, Jack knows this school will involve in more, you'll be able to help. Or find me, make it through together okay?" Holly wasn't sure exactly why she offered to help but the ghoul was helpful she thought.

"Na, it's fine, don't worry." She smiled. The ghoul finished yet another roll. "Uh, thanks. I'll be sure to take you up on that offer if I ever need to." Something did come to mind but Holly hadn't felt like speaking about it at this exact moment. "You go to the dance the other day? Fun right?" Or mostly fun.

Even though the time she had spent at Amityville was slowly pulling her away from her shyness around others and Debbie Downer behavior, Tsetsiliya was still honestly surprised about Holly's offer to come find her should another "Island"-like incident occur... touched, even. It was still hard at times for her to believe that there would be others who would extend themselves for her. Immediately she blushed darker, chewing thoughtfully on her skinnamon roll.

"I-I will, t-thank you." Yes, Holly was a very nice ghoul, she decided. She would definitely bring her more skinnamon rolls! Hopefully taste testing wouldn't be a horrible experience.. for both baker and tester.

The poludnica's mood visibly brightened a little when the dance was brought up. Lacing her hands together in her lap, her legs swung idly back and forth as she leaned back on the bench. "Oh yes, it was being very much fun! Well, mostly.. that one.. particular dance was being rather strange. But my dates are being nice.. we all are enjoying it though, even if the end came so quickly." She smiled at Holly. "Prom was being fun for you too, I am hoping. West is being your date to it, yes?" The question was innocent enough. Holly and West, from the couple of times she had seen them together, seemed like pretty good friends. She forgot to factor in other possible friends, or a set-up similar to her dates with the anonymous box, but to her it was logical they would go together, right? However somewhere in the back of her mind, she remembered Holly's answer to her questions on Groanspring following the Prom. Had something gone wrong, perhaps?
PostPosted: Sat Jul 30, 2011 2:34 pm

Had it been before the Island-event thing, Holly would have probably not offered any help to another. During that time she didn't have many ghoul friends and didn't bother. Though after going through some of that and having some friends, she thought differently. She didn't know Tsetsiliya too well but liked the ghoul well enough. No one should have to go through things like what had happened on the island by themselves anyway. "It's not a problem at all, really. I fear this darn school will probably send us off on another one soon too..." They enjoyed doing so it seemed.

Holly grinned a bit. She lost one of the dance competitions but that hadn't spoiled her mood then at all. That part had still been exciting. Tsetsiliya had dates, as in multiple? "Who'd you end up going with?"

"It was, uh, fun enough. Yeah I went with him. Don't know many other boils and to tell the truth he was the one that asked." That part was completely and utterly unexpected and part of her still didn't believe he asked. It did start out as a 'let's go and make fun of people' but something else about him wasn't right that day. "Did find out that one of my other friends dislikes him a lot so that was weird." And hilarious. "But yes, was good for the most part, but..." She hadn't told anyone yet what had happened at the end of the dance, mostly because she wasn't sure what happened. Tsetsiliya didn't seem like one to make fun of anyone at all though. Holly would tell only if asked more, she decided.

"Oh, Petro and Colette were being my dates," Tsetsiliya replied with a smile. It was such a fun event, even if the night had been short. "I am knowing Colette from the first field trip, but Petro I am meeting through this dance. He is a very nice boil." Albeit rather serious at times, she thought.

As Holly answered her question about West, the poludnica's eyes widened just a little. West had actually asked Holly to the dance, that was rather surprising! Not that she knew the wrath demon that well but he did not strike her as the type to do such a thing. Then again, everyone is capable of changing, but she wondered what had moved him to do so. Her companion's explanation showed that perhaps she, too, was a bit confused on the proceedings, and when she hesitated at the end, Tsetsiliya frowned sympathetically. Holly had listened to her, perhaps it was in good taste that the poludnica did the same. She was such a nice ghoul after all and if she could do something for her, then this would be it.

"W-what is happening next.. ?" she invited, reaching for another skinnamon roll.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:53 pm

The other ghoul sounded like she went on something set up but she had fun so that is what counted. Colette she knew, that ghoul was nice but the other she hadn't heard of. "Petro? Haven't met him yet, I'll take your word that he's nice." Tsetsiliya seemed pretty honest about those things.

Holly took another bit of her skinnamon roll before continuing. Seemed like the other wanted to hear more of her tale. Well she'd just listened to Tsetsiliya just about spill all her secrets so why not her? Nor did she seem like one to go and blab what she was about to hear all over the school. The ghoul rubbed the back of her own neck. It wasn't the dancing she'd been acting strangely over. No, dancing at a dance was given and she'd technically tried the dancing with West thing already. "... After we danced, he kind of, well kissed my cheek ... then left me at the dance. Haven't seen him since." That jerk. "Not really sure what that means, kind of weird right?"

Wait a minute.

West.. kissed Holly?

Tsetsiliya blinked, slowly nodding as Holly finished her story. It was.. well, it was rather peculiar to her thinking. Immediately she thought about her family's normal custom of kissing guests on both cheeks whenever they arrived or departed from their home, but that was her family - she wasn't sheltered enough to believe that everybody did the same thing. And then there was somebody of West's character. The running off after the kiss on the cheek got her to thinking.

Well, he had to have a reason for doing all of that in the first place, and apparently he and Holly were good friends, so the logical conclusion was..

Tsetsiliya blushed. "U-Uhm.. perhaps.. it is being possible that there is something more to this? I-I am meaning.." She clasped her fingers together and lay them in her lap, but they continued to fumble. "I-it is seeming to me that.. perhaps he is liking you.. more than as a friend, yes?" Oh, she hoped that didn't embarrass poor Holly! "I-I am meaning, f-from how he seems, with the running away after.. that is how it is appearing to me, anyway." Her fingers finally lay to rest in her lap, now that she was squeezing them tightly together to keep them from their typical fidgeting.

Tsetsiliya could see why Holly was reluctant at first to say anything. Talking about something like this was terribly embarrassing, even for her.
