 Pachelbel sighed as he wandered around the edge of the forest sort of aimlessly. He'd been sent out on a collecting mission by his mother, Rondel but wasn't having much luck finding anything. He'd tried to find his grandmother somewhere in the forest but she hadn't been anywhere to be found, not unusual, but it was discouraging for him.
He huffed again and stamped a foot sending his bells ringing out making his presence known to anyone around, then moved over to a stream to get a drink letting the cold water soothe his frazzled nerves.

Bronwyn trotted through the forest appreciating the quiet. Her mother, Aiyana was off again being ridiculously silly with her aunt Amaya. Really she'd never understand how those two could be so happy-go-lucky. She was much more practical and had no time for silly pranks.
The sound of bells made her pause and tilt her head in curiosity. "What in the world?" she muttered to herself as she headed towards the sound. Coming to a stream she blinked at the frazzled looking male. He looked.. interesting and a bit upset. Maybe he was lost? Shrugging she called out "Hello? Are you ok?"

Pachelbel nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound of another voice, especially a female one. He calmly, or at least he hoped appeared to be calm straightened up to look at the brilliant green mare.
"Ah...uh...I'm...I'm fine." he managed. "Just having a bad day." he finished. He looked in both directions then back at her. "Are...are you lost? I didn't know anyone else lived close to this area." he shuffled a bit then got himself to stand still as his bells started to go off.

She nodded "I don't live too far from here. Just outside the forest, so no I'm not lost." She studied him a moment, then shrugged "Well since I'm here.. anything I can do to help with your bad day?"

Pach blinked then suddenly felt himself blushing slightly although he didn't know why...maybe her catching him in such a dark mood?
"Ah, ah, no. Least I don't think so." he said shyly scuffing a hoof. "I was just looking for some herbs my mother sent me to look for. I can't find them but I don't think she really expected me to find them anyway. Just," he paused for a moment. "An excuse to get my brother and I away from the grove and have a little..um...quiet time with father." he said coloring slightly at the thought of parental indiscretions.

She wrinkled her nose at the though of parental 'quiet time'. Not that her mother had much but still.. ick. "Ah I see... well if that were me I'd jump at the excuse to leave. My mom and dad don't live together so there's no 'quiet time' for me to worry about luckily. Just the normal insanity she and my aunt get up to."
She paused wondering at her sudden chattiness and hoping this didn't mean she was turning into her perky mother. Shrugging she turned her attention back to him "Sooo... whats your name anyway?" Might as well know who she was talking to.

Pachelbel nodded. "My brother and I often wander off when they get that look in their eye." he said shaking his head, then stopped and listed to her. He was trying to think of something polite and tactful to say to her comment about her mother, but was instantly relieved when she changed the subject to his name.
"Pach, uh, Pachelbel." he said. "And you are?" he asked her in return.

"Bronwyn. Pleasure to meet you." Giving him a smile as leaned against a nearby tree. "So Pach.. how long do you have to pretend to look for herbs? Is there a signal or something you get when its safe to go back?"

Pachelbel shook his head. "Not really, Beat and I usually just kill time until evening then wander our way back home." he looked up at the sky. "I'd say...I have lots of time." he glanced back at her and smiled sheepishly.
"What about you? How do you know when its safe to go home?" he asked shuffling a bit.

She gave a bit of a wicked grin "It's never safe to go home. It's always enter at your own risk over there so most of the time I try to guess when either they'll be out or exhausted and sleeping."

Pach flushed slightly under that grin. "I see..." he stammered. He coughed and returned more or less to his normal color. "I guess if that works for you." he said with a nod.
