User ImageThe day was bright. A cool breeze drifted across the land but it wasn't heeded. Foul mood reigned supreme for Omutia. If things couldn't get worse. After traveling through the night she'd finally caved and collapsed unable to move forward. Her wounds seeped where her scabs had torn from her walking. She couldn't stand being still since her attack. Her attack had occurred over a month ago but she still continued to be pained by the cuts the skinwalkers teeth had left on her hind. Worse yet her saddle blanket was torn. She hated to think she'd have to see one of those two leggers to mend her blanket.

The grass beneath her was cool but dry, it had obviously felt the full wrath of the sun as the days grew hotter. She still remembered the night when she'd been attacked. She'd nearly been killed the thought was annoying, as well as upsetting. Pain was all she'd known for the past month. It was more then she could bare. She settled her head upon the grass willing herself to have it all end. It saddened her she'd never see Berk again. She'd thrust him away and oddly enough she wished she'd be able to have one more fight with him.

The warm wind and eager sunlight had prompted Sakura to step out of her comfort zone slightly and head out to the nearby plains. There, the sun shone brightly across the vivid blue sky, unhindered by a thick canopy of leaves and branches. The mare was in a jovial mood, a spring gracing her step as she trotted across the grass, yet there was slight refinement which did not usually exist. She disliked not being in the protective boundaries of the forest.

A pale yellow shape amid the grass made her pause in her stride. It... looked like a Soquili? Perhaps someone had decided to take a nap in the sunlight? As Sakura pondered whether to go over to chat or not, the breeze changed direction and brought with it the faint stench of blood. Alarm shot through her. All her former discomfort vanished as she cantered over to the mare, calling out a quick "Hello! Are you alright?".

"Oh..!" She exclaimed as she saw Omutia's injuries, though she quickly shook her head to clear the surprise. The cogs within her mind worked quickly, scanning over the scabs. "Don't you worry, my name is Sakura and I'm part uni. I'll heal you." Bowing her head, Sakura began to concentrate, allowing her magic to build up within her horn.

Omutia would have jumped up if her body could have physically done so at the scare the pink mare gave her. She'd been ready to give up when the pink mare had shown up. She'd been resting her head on the ground willing for it to all end and then suddenly a voice had appeared. Asking if she was alright. Normally she'd have quipped back some snipe smart a** retort similar to... No Genius I'm just bleeding on my rear. Perfectly fine... however she was not in such a mood and the fancy didn't strike her to retort in a smart way. She merely decided to let the question fall.

Letting the question fall did not stop the pink mare though. Annoying pink mares, all bubbly inside least that is what she figured the mare would be like. Then came more words. Surprise and then she'd heal her. She shook her head at the mare. Part uni she'd heal her, no she didn't need healing she wanted it to end. "I need no help. I shall just lay here and wait. I'm done, things have come to an end for me." Sad to say that she'd merely given up unwanting to move on and forward. She'd not be a pleasant patient either. even once her wounds were healed she'd need healing far beyond that of the physical kind.

The mare looked bone-weary as she lay upon the ground, not even putting up the slightest bit of resistance. In fact, it was almost as though she was giving up on life. Sakura's eyes expertly scanned over the stranger's body, looking for the worst cuts and any signs of infection. Meanwhile, the magic continued to well. The half-breed found that if she concentrated her powers for a few minutes, she could heal much more overall, though it would certainly tire her out much more than a quick, thoughtless healing of a minor scrape.

Through her intense focus on the task at hand, Sakura barely heard the mare's plea for a finish. "No one truly wishes to die, even if they believe it for a moment." She murmured gently, more to herself than to her patient. "If you had truly wished to put an end to life, you would have found a much more effective way to do it than this painful and weary path." Her horn buzzed with energy just wishing to be released. She was ready.

"I'm going to start healing now. It may feel a bit strange, but try not to fight it or it will only feel even weirder."

It was useless, though the mare had appeared not to be as bubbly as Omutia would have once assumed she was still annoying. The kind of annoying that was based on persistence. Not that she had really objected to the part uni mare. She had merely grumbled, said he peace and willed herself for the end. Though the pink mares comment, she thought more toward herself then in response, got Omutia to snort at her. Sure there could be a way to find herself some reason to go on but she did not want to think about that.

Sulking in misery is all she wanted to do. Surely this mare didn't think she'd set out to end her life. Nought of these cuts were self inflicted. She rolled her eyes thinking that the mare missed that she merely wanted to give up. "I would have preferred to not have been attacked. Then never would I wish and end to it all" She grumbled with her head still upon the ground. She tilted it though so that she could look at the sky, blurred that it was. She frowned at the blurred vision and tried to blink it away and found something wet rolling down her face. Her frown deepened with her confusion at the moisture. It was not raining yet there was something on her face. She was so distracted by the odd moisture she payed not much mind to the mare and merely grumbled okay to her forewarning about the healing.

"Wounds can be healed, and eventually forgotten." She whispered gently, trying to offer some comfort. "Sometimes, life can throw things like this at you, for no reason. The good, the bad, the innocent. All are affected. But the trick is to never give up, hold your head high and face the challenge." Her words trailed off as her face creased in concentration, her breathing slowing as she closed her eyes.

Though she was not the strongest of healers by magic, she had been trained well by pure blood unis. She knew the tricks that would help her maximize her abilities, and with injuries as severe and old as these, she would need them. Breathe. In, two, three, four. Out, two, three, four. Slowly, she calmed her mind. If someone was on the brink of death, she would not have time for such preparations, she would have to stem the bleeding immediately and do the best she could, but in this situation she had a bit more freedom. Time was, for once, on her side. Having achieved a relative feeling of peace, she delved deep into her consciousness, looking for the ball of energy she knew was within her.

And there it was. Slowly, she withdrew a continuous stream of the power, channeling it up towards her horn. Bit by bit, thread by thread, she fed it until it began to glow gently. The luminous horn vibrated faintly, almost as though it were happy, or eager to be used. Then the mare bent her neck and touched the tip of her horn to Omutia's body. The magic channeled out, flowing from the end and spread across Omutia's hide. With her mind she sought out the worst of the wounds, a deep gash. First, she cleared away the scabs exposing the wound. Then she reached deeper into the wound, flushing it out. She forced the bacteria and other bits of debris that did not belong out. Following the cleansing, the muscles began to knit back together to become whole once more. And then the skin began to close over. She did not heal it completely, for that would take too much of her strength, but she healed it well enough for nature to be able to finish the job easily.

One down, many to go. Meticulously, she sought out the worst of the injuries and one by one cleansed and rewove the muscles. Soon, only a few cuts were left, though they were minor. But even those she cleansed, to prevent infection.

Gasping with effort, Sakura leaned away, her legs slightly shaky. It had felt like it had taken hours, though the ordeal couldn't have been more than a minute or two. Sweat stained the pink fur into darker shades upon her neck. "I think... I think I'm done."

Omutia snorted at the Mare and her words forgotten. No she'd never forget running for her life. If was a terrifying feeling knowing at any moment you could get caught and killed. Give up, she had been tired of fighting and she had become useless there was no way for her to effectively move about giving up was all she could have done. Facing this challenge had defeated her. She rolled her eyes at it all there was no use.

Things got quiet and still after the mare stopped talking. It was eerie but she tried to ignore the sudden still quietness that had overcome what once had been a very one sided conversation. It seemed like the healing was taking forever and as if it was doing absolutely nothing but the moment the other mare lowered her head Omutia realized that it hadn't even begun. She would have made a snorting noise but for the odd feeling that entered her body as the mare touched her. She wanted to move away from the tingling sensation that spread across her hide and she would have once the actually healing part began had the pain not been so distinct. It burned, stung, itched, and hurt sad but sure signs of healing but all wrapped into one large lump some of healing. It continued throughout and cause pain still as it reached other wounds. If she though that the initial pain was bad this was much much worse.

The actual healing had taken that long but the lingering effect of the pain, itching, and burning lasted beyond the mare's words of thinking she was done. Normally hearing the words I think would have set her off. The mare hadn't known if she was fully healed what was to say that a vital part wasn't healed. No she didn't care to tear into the mare. She was in pain and that was the prevalent thought. She winced and twitched as the waves of pain began to subside and she glanced at the now tired mare that seemed so exhausted after the healing. "You should rest, you're much too tired to go farther before falling." She knew what that looked like. Mare and Stallions alike had their limits and those humans always had pushed them beyond such points.
