I may seem formal and intimidating but I'm really soft-hearted and laid back. When I was younger, I often came off as being arrogant, though I didn't intend to be. I'm confident in myself, which is what I suppose people took as being conceited. It didn't help that I was under the influence of my family's name and had to act accordingly. That was probably the reason for my placement in Slytherin, though I have changed since my youth. I can be fun when I want to be though, when the situation demands, I look on the serious side of things.

My background story is I was born in Scotland to a long line of pureblood witches and wizards, though I don't particularly care about my bloodline. My parents wanted me to receive an excellent magic education so I could uphold my family's grandiose reputation, so they sent me to Hogwarts where I did exceedingly well, as was expected. I didn't much care for the curriculum, though I enjoyed magic for what it was. The greatest enjoyment I took from my school years was playing as chaser on the Slytherin house quidditch team. Flying was something my parents hadn't intended for me to become involved with, and that might be why I loved it so much. It presented a freedom and ability to cut loose from the pressure my family's name placed on me. I looked forward to quidditch practice more than anything, and so it was only natural that I pursue flying after my gradution. My parents were not pleased, but I continued with quidditch and ended up on the Scottish National team. After several years of playing, I heard about an opening here at Hogwarts as the flying instructor. I had been able to live out my dream of playing quidditch, and returning to the place of my youth education to teach others about my passion was an alluring next step for me, so I took the job.

I enjoy flying, watching quidditch (and sometimes playing, to relive my days on the national team), light conversation, the occasional drink, and order in class.

I despise those who don't work hard, prejudice, purebloods who boast excessively about their heritage, being judged by my family's name, and falling off a broom tends to suck.
