Mark Reads Twilight is a blog about a gay Atheist man reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (a.k.a. Smeyer). Fans beware! Mark is not afraid to point out the sexist, preachy, boring, abusive, manipulative, poorly written and over all offensive writing style behind the Twilight books and the characters within. All with hilarious results.

Or heck, even if you are a fan you may want to read this and reconsider your view of the series.

Before you ask, yes I have read the books so I am entitled to not like them. Just like Mark is. 3nodding

I know Twilight has a cult following and you are allowed to like it. Others are equally entitled to dislike the series. This is not meant to offend anyone personally.

I down loaded the Ebook (free of course) few pages bore the hell out of me and deleted. I then down loaded the electronic e-book and listen to it while I was doing my thing. I swear it felt like listening to a repeated record over and over and over. I mean really we get Edward's skin is like marble ><

I never went past book 1. Unlest the movie you didn't have to hear the same adjectives over and over and over and over... gonk

To be honest, this sounds like something you read from fan fic forums.

I down loaded the Ebook (free of course) few pages bore the hell out of me and deleted. I then down loaded the electronic e-book and listen to it while I was doing my thing. This whole series is a joke. The entire thing is SMeyer's self-insertion fan fiction, she ADMITS that Edward comes to her in dreams and tells her what to write about. This woman is insane.

I have a friend who used to be babysat by SMeyer. He says she's nice, but bat s**t insane. Mormon housewives usually are, because they're so bored with their lives they have to make s**t up to make it through each day. I hate Mormons... stare

Well you can hate whoever you want too, lol, just keep in mind that Smeyer doesn't represent the Mormon culture as a whole. Though she makes it tempting...her Mormonism seems to be set in the old racist/sexist/etc tendencies of the religion, modern day Mormons have moved away from that. Basically, Smeyer is a bad example for them. burning_eyes

On a related note, the Quileute tribe that's all through the books? She got their culture completely wrong. Go figure.

And I heard she took stuff from The Vampire Diaries (novel) and added it her own book. Like the main characters both feed off of animal blood, both are in love with a human girl, etc.

Maybe Twilight is a bad TVD fanfic? Who freakin knows, and she claims she has a BD in English? Sure doesn't show in her books..

I rather watch True Blood. The vampires and werewolves stay true to their lore. Not some cannibalism pixie claimed to be a vampire.

I'm not sure about the fine details but I know they're not well written books, and Smeyer has outright bragged about doing as little research as possible for her books. Also Bella is widely known as a Mary Sue, I really wouldn't be surprised if she 'borrowed' a bit from what she sees from day to day.
