Chris waved goodbye to his teammates as they parted ways, heading down from the practice field. It wasn’t even noon yet, but they’d already been practicing for their upcoming game for the past four hours. No, it wasn’t a horrible situation, but now he had a couple hours before his next class. Going back to his apartment would be pointless, and he’d already showered and changed for class, so all that was left was waiting.

He was tempted to head up to the library and study for a bit, but after such a long and crazy winter, he was kind of starved for sun and warmth. So studying out under a tree seemed to be the best idea to him.

Well, it had been a good idea, had he not glanced up to look at the passing tour group, a familiar bundle of curly red hair.

A grin made its way to his face as he quickly moved to fall behind the group, his bag of books slung over his shoulder. He made sure he was close enough before he made his presence known, not wanting to startle her or distract anyone from the group.

“Lily!” he called from only a couple feet behind her, still smiling brightly for when she turned around, if she heard him. It was nice to know she was touring the campus! Maybe he could convince her to go to DCU with him!

Lily was on campus visiting, getting familiar despite having visit just two days prior with Christa. She was still trying hard to make her parents see everything was right and normal with her, so that she could move out into an apartment for college. So she walked about with the orientation group and enjoyed people watching while the older student talked about building and the like.

Lily turned at her name, not expecting anyone to be calling out to her, but smiling brightly as she saw Chris. She waved and headed back to him to say hello.

"Christopher," she said as she reached him and gave quick hug. "It feels like ages since I last saw you. I have been so busy with prom coming up and finals, and preparing for college that I have not even had time to visit the animal shelter."

She couldn't help, but to smile. She had almost forgotten Chris attended DCU and was overjoyed she would have a friend who was already attending to help her learn the ropes. The thought of course reminded her to look back to see if her group had stopped, but she turned to see they had continued on when she stop. "Oh dear, looks like I lost the group."

Christopher laughed lightly at her response to seeing him, reaching out to hug her back.

"It has been a while, hasn't it? It's okay, though. I've been completely swamped with school and baseball. The shelter is fine, though. Mr. Squeak was finally adopted! A young couple came in wanting to adopt the cat that has been there the longest, so... he finally has a home," he told her, still happy that their oldest resident cat had been given a place to live.

He did blink at her when she mentioned the group, wincing lightly when it appeared that he'd distracted her enough to have them leave her behind. "Well... crap... Did you want to catch up with them...? Are you here with anyone? If you didn't mind ditching them, I don't have class for another... two hours," he confirmed after glancing at the watch on his wrist. "I could show you around, if you wanted. Maybe grab some lunch?"

He didn't like losing contact with his friends, and it felt as though this past year he'd been completely separated from everyone but his school work and classmates and teammates. Now that it was almost summer, though, he was more than willing to put other things aside in favor of hanging out with his friends.

"Tour groups don't give you the real information, anyway," he mock whispered, jabbing a thumb towards where the group must have wandered off to.

Lily's eyes lit up, "really Mr. Squeak," she said obviously overjoyed, "that is wonderful news to hear. Mr Squeak was at the shelter even longer than Eamon before I took him home. Oh I wish i could have met them."

She shrugged, not really minding that the tour group had left, she stupid giggles from the girls in front of her she could hear them talking about her, wondering who she thought was and saying she was way overdressed. Jealously was a nasty thing, or maybe she was overdressed. She hadn't thought so, but what she know about college or fashion for that matter.

"No, I do not want to catch them. In truth I explored with a friend just a day or two ago. I would have to say that I much prefer to take a tour with a you, I am sure we can find lots to talk about and lunch sounds wonderful. I bet the tour would have been ended in one of the lesser cafe's."

She grinned red curls blowing in the wind slightly, "So where to Mr. Baseball star, real information would be much appreciated."

"They come by every so often to volunteer, so maybe you can meed them sometime," he reassured her, happy that she was just as excited as he was about the adoption of their oldest resident. "How is Eamon, anyway? I haven't seen him since... the last time I saw you!" he pointed out, still smiling lightly.

And he hardly cared that she might be just a... little overdressed. He thought she looked great, so why not dress up and enjoy life? Besides, she was wearing a skirt of decently short length, so of course he wasn't going to complain.

"You look nice," he said, remembering to look up at her face instead of down at her skirt to her shoes, "Have a hot date later on?" What? It wasn't like he knew! He was just asking! He hadn't known if she'd been there with someone or by herself until she'd told him, so... he was just trying to get the facts straight. Or something like that.

Chris let out a short laugh at her "baseball star" comment, shaking his head in amusement, but not really adding on to the subject. There were a lot of great players on the team. The only difference between him and the others was that he happened to stink at hitting as opposed to throwing. He really needed to work on that, though... He didn't think he would find a way to forgive himself for slacking off and being kicked off the team for something like his batting average.

"I would love to show you around. But if you've already been here, you must at least know some of the buildings," he said, partially to himself as he took a step towards one of the large brick buildings in front of them. "I'm guessing you already know where the music and dance buildings are. And that one in front of us is the psychology building. But what they don't like telling the student during the tour is that it's haunted," he said matter-of-factly, nodding lightly in agreement with himself.

Lily's face lit up at the prospect of possibly meeting the couple. She felt guilty that life as a senshi made it so hard for her to keep up her obligations currently for her it was school work and senshidom she worked on, but she need desperately to get back into her favorite active.

"Eamon, is great. Just as lazy as ever though, I have been thinking about getting him a playmate, not sure if I want a younger dog or an older dog though."

She blushed at the complimented and flushed even deeper at the question that followed. Her hands went up waving as she shook her head no, her whole body indicating her embrassment. "A date me, ... eh haha, I can't even get a date to prom," she laughed quite flustered her words an embarrassed mumble.

Still flushed she did turn to look at the building Chris pointed out, "I do know where the music and english buildings are," she said willing her embrassment away, "but I have never been into the dance building, is it with the art and music. Or maybe the more physical classes."

Her eye brows rose when he mentioned the building was hunted and she shook her head, "Hunted, really? Chris tell me you do not believe that ... though they was things are in Destiny, one never knows."

It was okay if she had other things to do in her life. Volunteering at the shelter was really only if people had time, so when life got in the way, it was understandable to place things like that on the side until everything calms down again.

Chris smiled, glad to hear that her dog was doing well, laughing lightly at the thought of him lazing around. "You should come by the shelter when you have time!" he suggested, though not saying it to pressure her into going, "I could introduce you to the newest residents." They were always getting new dogs and cats and other animals at the shelter, so there was always a new animal to meet. Hopefully there would be an increase of adoptions for the summer, but with the economy as it is, it's no wonder so many animals go homeless.

Awww, she didn't have anything to be embarrassed about! He smiled softly at her blush, but he didn't comment about it, not wanting her to be even more embarrassed than she apparently was. "Sorry," he apologized, not having meant for her to get so flustered, "You do look really nice, though..." he insisted, hoping he wasn't bothering her too much about it.

"I think the dance classes are in the varsity gym... They should have a whole floor for dancing. At least that's what I've heard. I haven't exactly been inside it. Too left feet, after all," he joked, though other than a few ballroom dances, he didn't think he would be all that coordinated with steps.

He laughed again at her expression in response to the haunted building, grinning and nodding slowly. "Of course I do!" he joked, though it was probably pretty obvious that he was being sarcastic. "Haunted by a professor that died years ago, but still comes in to teach. In one of the dorms, there's a male ghost that haunts the girl's bathroom... But that's because it used to be an all male dorm," he explained, clearly amused by the stories he'd heard about the campus.

Lily smiled brightly thinking about the possibility of volunteering and meeting new animals. She might find the perfect companion for Eamon in one of the newer residents, doubting to many of the older residents were still there. "I actually I time this weekend. Will you be there, if so I promise to stop by and you can show me."

The blush remained even as he apologized, Lily got flustered at that sort of thing it was just her. As far as romance was concerned she was extremely green. Her only experience with it came from Tali and Lily hadn't exactly had a choice in the matter. "Thank you," she said still blushing, it was nice to get compliments. She hardly noticed appreciative glance and stares so it was nice to hear it.

"In the gym, huh? I do not think I have visited the gym, my brother went here. That is why I know a few things, but my brother is far from athletic. And I am sure you dance just fine, two left feet or not," she said sweetly.

She laughed as he joked about believing giving him a disbelieving look with paired with a mischievous smirk. "Oh come now, it just sound as though your talking about that book, that book turned movie ... uh what is it called? I think he have it at home."

She thought for a moment before she remembered it, "right, Harry Potter. That story sound like an odd version of Harry Potter."

She looked at the psychology for a moment before shaking her head, "I'm not really up for ghost hunting. Will you show me the gym?"

"I will definitely be there this weekend! I'm going in on Sunday from ten to five," he told her, grinning brightly at the thought of her coming by the shelter. "Feel free to come by then! Or if you want, I can probably go in Saturday morning, before noon, if that's better for you," he offered, not minding, either way. He'd already set aside a lot of his weekend to the shelter. "I just have a game on Saturday around five, so I need to warm up with the team."

He laughed when she brought up Harry Potter, not having thought about it like that before, but he could agree that it certainly sounded similar. "I didn't think you would be up for ghost hunting," he quickly reassured her, hoping she didn't believe that he was serious about paranormal things like that. It was just fun to tell new students!

Chris nodded as they headed towards the gym, not minding exploring a little on his own. After all, he hadn't been in the gym all that much. The baseball team used a different facility to get changed in and for practice when the weather was bad.

"I didn't know your brother went here," Chris told her with a small frown, wondering why he hadn't heard that little bit of information before. Although, he supposed it just wasn't really that important to go around telling people. He didn't go around telling people that his little brother was in fourth grade in Knightside Elementary, after all. "What did he major in?" He couldn't help but be curious! He liked hearing about other people's families... It reassured him that, despite his little brother, he had a normal family experience... minus the large extended part, but whatever.

"After you," he insisted, reaching out to pull the gym door open once they reached it. Hopefully they wouldn't get lost...

"It's okay. I will volunteer on Sunday to. I haven't got anything planned. I can call the shelter and make sure its okay, if not I will stop by around midshift," she said with a smile, "no need to change up your plans. But, um, maybe I could come to your game on Saturday. If I'm going to go here, I should start supporting the team early."

She joked lightly as they walked outright laughing when he assured her he did not think she would be up for ghost hunting, " I was only joking," she managed still laughing lightly.

She was really growing to appreciate the friends that she had. She loved how some could make her laugh really laugh, it felt to good especially knowing now she did not often have much to laugh about.

She wore an amused smile as they walked and when he opened the gym door she thanked him and went in. It was so big, much bigger than meadowviews gym and of course she said so, "It is so much bigger than the gym at school. It will be nice to have a few classes in here, though I do not think my ballet instructor will be to happy if I study under another even briefly."

She looked around before looking back to Chris, "Do you know where the ballet rooms are?"

Chris grinned in excitement when she said she would call in for a shift, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, that should be fine. I mean, you know we always need more people to help. So even if everyone is there, we can still figure out something for you to do," he said, wanting to reassure her that her efforts will still benefit the animals, no matter what. It was always good to know others who cared about animals as he did. Just one of those things that really made his day.

"If you want!" he said, laughing lightly at her suggestion of seeing his game. "I'll be starting, so if you do end up going, I really hope I don't screw things up for the team!" His tone indicated that he was just joking about it, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't always at least a little nervous about not being able to prove himself worthy of his scholarship. It sucked, too, especially when he was up against some really good batters on other teams. "I would love for you to come, though, if you're not busy, of course. If you can't, though, it's not like it's the last game of the season."

"Yeah, no kidding," he agreed with her comment on the size of the gym, letting the door shut behind them as they looked around the place, "Azure's gym was pretty small, too." And so was Hillworth's, for that matter. No, he hadn't gone to either Meadowview or Hillworth for school, but he did have games against the teams there, so he got the opportunity to at least see inside the gyms there.

"Oh yeah!" he quickly answered her when she asked if he knew where the ballet rooms were. "They were down this way when I took ballet last semester!" he said, pointing down one of the halls, before pausing to grin at her. "No, sorry, I have no idea where they would be," he admitted. It hadn't been his fault he was unable to resist a bit of teasing for a question like that! Of course he didn't know where the dance rooms were!

"We can definitely find them, though," he said, giving her a knowing little wink as he started down the hall towards where he assumed the rooms would be. It would just take a little bit of snooping around. "We're looking for a room with mirrors and bars, right...?"
PostPosted: Sat May 21, 2011 8:10 pm

Lily grinned excited to volunteer again and mentally checking out another step back toward normality. She would never have guessed in that moment that Wolframite would put her in the hospital and Chris would be left to wonder what had happened when she neither showed up to his game or to volunteer without so much as a whisper of why.

"I can't wait to be with the animals again," she said with a smile before listening to him answer her question about coming to the baseball game. She definitely would love to come support her friend. It was exciting and really made her feel like a DCU student ready to cheer on the home team.

She could help but questions Chris's statement about Azure's gym, even knowing the boys attending weren't really known for their athleticism. "It is really," she asked pausing for a minute before speaking again," but I guess it would be, huh?"

Lily looked affronted at his teasing if only momentarily, she had walked right into that one, not that she really realized it. "Oh you," she said giving her friend a light push, not enough to move him, but enough to say that so wasn't funny.

She did however smile at the suggestion of finding them and nodded at his question, "Yes mirrors and bars, and wooden floors."

It would have definitely been nice to see her at his game and shelter, but things sometimes happened that none of them could control...

"Yeah, no kidding," he said again and snorted lightly in agreement with her comment. "Usually they used the gym for science fair competitions and aero physics classes," he told her, almost grumbling at the memories. He was glad he was done with high school. And he was also glad that someone had mentioned to a scout that they might want to check out the Azure baseball team, even though they lost almost every game they played. He was lucky, in that sense, to actually want to do sports but not have much competition on his actual team.

Then again, it was also a double edged sword, because the only way he could even attempt to better himself was in games against much better schools. It was probably why he was always self-conscious about playing at DCU — what if they'd made a mistake and only saw him as a good player because he just happened to be more athletic than a lot of the others...?

But that was a conversation for another day, and he laughed as she pushed at him, quickly lifting his hands in defense. "I'm just teasing! It would be embarrassing to see me try ballet," he promised, his hands still raised as they continued along to try and find the classroom. "I don't mind watching, but I don't think I can pull off the leotard look." That, and he would much prefer his feet to remain on solid ground. He was sure his mother would be thrilled if she had an opportunity to dress him up in some princely outfit for a production, but for now she would just have to deal with making costumes for his little brother.

He came to a stop at the first room, peering into the window in the door. "Well... There's mirrors and wooden floors, but no bar... That might be a different dance room," he assumed, taking a step back for her to look in as well.
PostPosted: Mon May 23, 2011 7:36 pm

Lily grinned, "Oh yeah, that is right isn't it. Didn't they have science fairs in it a few times. I think I went to one when my brother attended. I was very young then though, still in elementary school," she said musing more that anything.

She followed Chris and laughed when he said it would be embarrassing to see him in ballet, but then she shook her head wiping tears away. "Do not think that way. I bet you would do just fine and you would look great in a leotard." The last part was said jokingly and she was fighting not to laugh, but a small giggled escaped. "You silly," she finally said, "a lot of the boys practice in loose pants, like workout pants, although they do wear the leotard underneath."

She poked her head in when they came to the first dance room and she nodded when Chris said it wasn't the right one and stepping back to let him lead the way once more.

'You have me curious now as to what you would be like dancing ballet. I think one day I shall just have to see that," she was grinning but it was obvious she wasn't really joking.

Gyms being used for science fairs... ridiculous. Well, it did give everyone enough room, but some people actually liked using the gym for what it was. He was lucky he could use the field whenever he wanted to practice, otherwise he was pretty sure he would have gone crazy.

Chris grimaced at the thought of himself in a leotard, pants worn over top or not. "See? I'd only agree to it if I could wear the tutu, too," he joked, though he still wore a half horrified expression. "Pretty and sparkly and pink, please." Yeah, that would be a sight. Seeing him in a tutu... with those... shoes they wore. Point shoes? Somehow he imagined himself up and walking off the stage if he was ever put in that situation. Or running. That could work, too.

"I would probably pull something... or break something," he mumbled, still not so excited about the thought of himself dancing ballet, but hey... he had to admit that it was a pretty amusing thought. "What about this one?" he asked, a few doors down, peering into the room before pushing it open for her to see. "Mirror, wood floor, and a bar." Ah! At least it met the specifications!
