Zuri'ramla had left the graveyard and found herself in the area known as the Southlands. She was still on her 'quest of secrets', but as of yet had not found any clues as to what she was looking for.
Bored, and not seeing any others of any interest for some time, she found her way over to a very skinny tree, the shade it produced not even enough to cover Zuri's slim form. She plopped herself down very ungracefully, not much caring right now who or what saw her like this. The facade was starting to be more of a bother then anything else, but it was fun to mess with others minds.
She closed her eyes and dozed off, her ears flicking around her head, picking up the noises that the slight breeze would bring to her.

The adolescent that was seemingly creeping around her wasn't quiet enough.
Without opening her eyes, the lioness lifted her head, and gave out a prolonged yawn. She slowly opened her sun-golden eyes, and stared at the lion that was infront of her. Her ears flicked forward as she scanned his body. No full mane, must just be around that time though...seemed pretty timid too, interesting.
She flicked her blue-striped white tail idly near her body, wondering if she should speak or not...aww hell, she might as well. He seemed more then just a little timit.
"'Lo there, traveler. How have you come across me in these vast lands?"

Hijiku was taken by surprise when the lioness spoke to him. He stopped walking and looked over at her. Well, what did he expect? Lions could hear very well actually all. "Oh-hum... Hello!" he replied, trying to sound perfectly normal. His voice had gotten deeper, now that he had grown up to an adolescent... finally. "Actually, I was just... wandering around. I guess it was pure coincidence, that I came across you." he added with a nod. Hijiku wasn't exactly shy, he was more uncomfortable than anything else. Rarely was he ever around other lions, only a few times did he have conversations with them. He even didn't have a... close friend. He was a loner. To that thought the young lion looked down at his front paws. But for once he wanted that to change. As he looked up to the lioness in front of him, he noticed her golden eyes. They were shiny, just like the sun during a hot afternoon. "W-what are you doing here... in the middle of nowhere, if I may ask?" said Hijiku, not sure if he should ask anything from her.

The orange-golden lioness smiled. He seemed cute. Nice enough, if speaking a little awkwardly. She remembered being that age, and had a little sympathy for him. It was an awkward age.
"But are you sure that it was a coincidence, or perhaps something more? Fate loves to play a strange hand now and again."
Her smiled warmed up a bit, feeling a bit comfortable, if not awkwardly herself. He seemed kind enough, and perhaps not the smartest, but sometimes smarts were something that could get in the way of friendships.
"In all actuality, I've left my homeland to search for something. A something that is my sister by spirit. I have been searching for clues, but alas, have found nothing but the bones of elephants."
Her eyes twinkled at that, wondering if this male had run across the graveyard?

Hijiku blinked as she answered to his question. "Fate...?" he sounded confused for a moment, as he thought. What did she mean by that? "Perhaps... but I've never come to believe in fate ever before." he said, dark hair almost completely hidding his right eye. Though she sounded wise and much older than he was, she seemed nice so far. Maybe could he make friend with her, and finally have a partner to travel around these vast lands. "Ah? The graveyard is it?" he said as he looked away. "I've never been there, I went a different way to come here. I've heard it wasn't such a great place for young lions like myself." he explained, looking down at the dust around his front paws. He then realise that might have been stupid to say that. But it was too late.

"Hmmm....that is odd, since I only met a young little lion there, and didn't see anything of danger. Perhaps I had not visited at the right time to find these older beasts, though."
She smiled playfully at him, humored by how it seemed that once he began to speak, it was hard to make him stop. Cute, in a way. Dangerous every now and again, but he seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. Just needed a little more experience that most his age always missed.
"Fate is something I believe in, even if others do not. But I take no offence at it, we are all permitted to believe in what we wish."
Zuri'ramla gave a petite yawn and pulled herself up into a sitting position, giving a big stretch of her back before settling on her haunches. Her mind was still playing with the idea of perhaps a partner to travel with, even if only for a time. Being along had its advantages, but it wasn't always so calm as it was in the Southlands.

Hijiku felt slightly stupid as she spoke. Of course the graveyard isn't a dangerous place. What could giant elephant bones do to him anyway? He felt his cheeks burn for a short moment as his dark eyes looked away once more. "Well then I probably didn't hear right... or that lion I heard was wrong." he shrugged. As she spoke once more, the young male looked up at her with curiosity. He nodded to her sayings. Indeed she was right, but that he kept to himself. Hijiku observed the female as she sat, and so did he. Then he came to realize he didn't know her name. Shyly, he looked up at her. "Hijiku... My name is Hijiku." he said, breaking the silent.

Zuri blinked at him, then gave a very heary, and normal, laugh.
"I doubt you hear wrong, really! All I found was a lone little lion, but it seemed she lived there with some odd sort of pride, so I'm sure that there are dangers there."
She smiled softly again, her tail swishing behind her. "I apologize for my strange choice of words, but it's how I was raised. I thank you for having some sort of patience with it."
She gave a quick little bow, being polite. "My name is Zuri'ramla, my friend Hijiku. I come from the north, so my ways are different....and the creatures I cross paths with are all very interesting. You especially, being such a quiet, yet kind male."
She gave a quick, small devilish grin, wondering just how he'd take that.

Hijiku nodded, listening to the lioness speak to him. A pride living in the elephant graveyards? That was a little weird. But he shrugged it off, thinking to each their own life. "Don't worry about the way you speak... I can tell you I understand perfectly. I've come across much stranger creatures in the past." he said, his dark eyes brushing the surrounding. As Zuri'ramla bowed, saying her name, Hijiku bowed his head lightly, not too sure if he should have bowed more or not. Though all of a sudden he blinked to what she had just said. A quiet, kind male? Was she being serious or just playing him. His facial expression remained normal as he observed her features, trying to find a clue. Though even if she grinned a strange way, she seemed somewhat honest. Hijiku gave a small grin, "Well I guess I'll take that as a compliment. Therefore thank you!" he said.

The adolescent looked around once more. "Did you say you were on some sort of quest...?" he asked to the female sitting in front of him.

"Hmmm? Ah, well, yes I am. I've come from the northern lands to find my dear sister....but have not come across any hints as to where she may be."
Zuri was visibly disappointed with this, but did her best to hide it off.
"I'm sure I will find her when the time permits, though."

Zuri cocked her head, and gave him another smile. "You do not socialize much, do you? You seem very unsure of yourself....not declaring that it is a terrible thing, though! Just very....interesting, really."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 28, 2006 6:22 pm

The young male blinked. The thought about what Zuri had just said about her sister went from a side to another, as he was pre-occupied by her last comment. What was so interesting in him not being socializable? It's not that he didn't want to, he just didn't have a clue about it! Hijiku looked at Zuri, that was still smiling to him. He did not say a word for a few seconds, his face not showing any emotions. His tail flicked behind him as he thought about what she had just said, and what he was going to answer. He didn't want to sound like some sort of newbie in sociolizing... even though it sort of is what he is. "Well... No I don't really. I've pretty much always lived on my own and have taken care of myself only. And very rarely did I meet people to talk to." he explained with a soft voice. "You're probably the first lion I've spoken the longest so far..." he added, staring right into her eyes.

"Mmm....I see."
Zuri glanced at him also, her sun-golden eyes staring into his deep red/brown ones.
"Well, as I said, never a bad thing. Sometimes you can learn more about oneself my merely being alone."
Zuri pulled herself out of her sitting position to ad around him, her hips swinging in an exaggerated manner. She slinked around hi, judging him up again, but not saying anything of the matter.
"So if you haven't conversed with another for a time, then you have not come across her...." She sighed. "I guess I must search again."

Hijiku staid in his sitting position, not moving one bit as the lioness walked around him. His eyes watched her carefully, in silence. Her movements were graceful and every single one of them looked coordinated, almost as if she was performing a dance. "I came across a few very young lions, and one lioness, like you. But she was more of a very light brown color. I doubt she would be your sister..." said Hijiku. He remained silent for a moment. "May I ask... why are you looking for her? Did she get in some sort of trouble?"

Zuri'ramla halted as he asked his last question, in mid-stance. She peered at him, contemplating if she should really say....but perhaps she was just being too sensitive to it. She gave herself a mental shrug, and relaxed. She sat back down, almost all the way behind Hijiku. She waited another moment before speaking.
"...she is older then me, but by far not as mature as one such as I. She fled her homeland when we needed her, and I was sent, as a seer, to find her. I cannot return home until I find her..." Her eyes were almost soulless as she spoke, her body still. "She was to inherit the throne, to become one of the leaders of our pride, but instead she fled."
Suddenly, Zuri's eyes grew bright again, and her tail twitched.
"She is of a near pure-blue, very quiet...but definately fast on her feet." Zuri gave off a light smile. "As I can see, since I cannot find her."
