It was beyond embarrassing. Absolutely beyond.
If curiosity could kill the cat, then this little kitty should have been dead ages ago. Luckily for the little grey kitten, this wasn't the case. No. Instead, it often led her into awkward situations where she was stuck between a) a hard place, and b) a boulder.
Or was it a mountain? For a brief moment the kitten appeared distracted from the barks of an angry dog from down below. However the moment was fleeting and she looked down nervously. How had she gotten herself into this anyways?
Oh yeah.
Right.
She'd been chased out of a building by an angry old man who seemed unreasonably upset that she'd had her head stuck in a half-empty can of tuna. Originally she'd only been there to scope out for Small Lady, but her tummy had growled and it smelled so good. If she could have just explained her situation it would have been easier, but humans didn't seem to take well to cats that could speak, so she'd just ran as the broom came hurtling down after her.
Once outside she'd bolted up a wall, and dropped down to the other side. The landing had been particularly soft, and she'd been grateful. It was only when she heard the growling that she quickly came to the realization that stray dogs did not like being used as sand bags.
So there she was.
Stuck up a tree.
An angry dog that seemed bound and determined to turn her into kitty mince-meat, and no closer to achieving her goal (not to mention, the continued rumbling of a tiny belly). Her little lip quivered and she shook with frustration with the situation, giving a pathetic mewling noise as she did.
This was a terrible city. Was it too much to ask for something to go right for a change?

Carter had a lot to think about. The past couple of days replayed over and over in his head: the events that nearly split up the team only to bring him closer to someone, closer than he ever expected. Recalling the events still brought a bright blush to his face. In some ways, it was still hard to believe all of the events that lead up to it.
He was distracted to the point that he didn't notice the curb until his skateboard crashed into it, jarring him out of his dreamland and straight onto the sidewalk. “Oof! Ow!” He winced, arms up and over his head as he tumbled to a stop.
Granted, he managed to tumble to a stop right on top of the stray dog. The dog didn't take well to it, turning to snap and snarl at Carter. “s**t! Ow! Ow! Fu-” He scrambled to his feet and ran, ducking into the nearby alley. The dog gave chase.
There was a flash of light, a shout, and a very soggy doggy came running out of the alley with its tail between its legs. “HA! That's what I'm talkin' about!” Super Sailor Merope shouted, leaving the alley to point dramatically at the hound. It didn't help that half of his side was soaked with sea water, and that he had a couple dog bites on his arm. All in all, he looked rather proud of himself.

Just when she thought she was going to be taking up permanent residence in the treetop district, the kitten seemed to come upon an unlikely source of good luck. As she watched the boy tumble onto the dog she tensed up, worried about the human's welfare. When he took off, her head snapped up, watching on in abject horror. What was wrong with that kid? Who taunted an angry dog like th-
Light? What was that all about?
That energy...
Her lips pursed (as well as cat lips could) as the dog came yelping out of the alleyway, a laughing senshi following along after it. He seemed pleased with himself with his method of doggy disposal. It was a rather uncouth display of power, and normally the she'd light into someone in such situations. Given that he'd just unwittingly saved her from the rabid creature, she'd save her breath.
However, there was other business to attend to.
Taking a deep breath, her little butt wiggled up in the tree as she hunched down slightly on her front paws. She then took a little leap, landing gingerly (though for only a few mere seconds) upon the blue haired senshi's head, and then landing to sit in front of him.
She looked up, the motion causing the little bell on her collar to tinkle. There was a relieved look on her face for a few moments before she suddenly turned serious. "Senshi!" her squeaky little voice pipped up at Merope. "My name is Diana, guardian of Small Lady. While I thank you most graciously for saving me from that terrible creature, I must request that you take me to the princess this very instant. I have been separated from her for far too long and I am concerned for her well being." the words tumbled out with ease. Almost like she'd prepared for something like this (in fact, she had. She just hadn't been fortunate enough to come across a senshi until this moment to make such demands).

It was a horrible waste of power. Not to mention it was damn stupid of him to do it. But dogs were just as bad as youma sometimes. He would need to get his bites looked at, possibly get a rabies shot as well just to be on the safe side. Then again, there probably wasn't any way of getting out of it once Damian caught wind of what he did. Not to mention Po might scold him. Living with a guardian cat had its ups and downs.
These things weren't running through Merope's mind currently. Right now, he had more important things to attend to off the top of his head. Literally -- he jumped when the kitten jumped onto him, taking a step back in surprise.
He stared. Another guardian cat? The small kitten stared up at him and spoke, no, commanded him to take her to... who? "Er, nice to meet you Diana?" He began hesitantly, scratching the back of his head. "But... Small Lady? I don't know who that is. Sorry. I'm Sailor Merope, leader of Team Pleiades. Maybe Po knows? Po -- he's our guardian cat."

Diana's face contorted into a look of sheer confusion, followed quickly by an exasperated breath and an audible sigh. What were they teaching senshi these days anyways? It was hard for her to fathom how someone could not know who Small Lady was. Maybe she wasn't actually here though. Maybe she got lost somewhere else! Oh dear, that was not a reassuring thought.
Then again, maybe he just didn't recognize the name 'Small Lady'. She decided to try again.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Sailor Merope!" she chirped. "Are you sure you don't know her though? I'm pretty sure she's somewhere in this city. And you're a senshi. So you must know her. She has bright pink hair, shaped kind of like rabbit ears." she pulled her front half up to make her best attempt at bunny ears above her head.
It was followed by some awkward silence.
"I'm sorry, I'm not very good at describing things." the cat's tail twitched back and forth as she let her paws fall back to the ground. She looked tired and frustrated with the whole situation.
Well, at least the dog was gone.
Her head lifted again when he mentioned another guardian cat. She'd never met any others aside from her parents. Huh. "Maybe? Do you think, Sailor Merope, we could speak with this... Po?"

The super senshi stared. And stared some more. "Pink hair," he began, moving his hands up. "Shaped kinda like this? Then with pigtails that are pretty long? I mean, really long to the point where they're almost touching the ground? Runs around with a leopard? Wait! Chibi Moon?" He snapped his fingers. "Yeah! I met her in Elysion, and she's been to a couple senshi meetings. She also has a weird accent like your's. Er. Not that it's weird or anything!" He said quickly, waving his hands.
"Otherwise she's the one who taught me how to use my crystal. Rather yelled at me to use it until I did. Somehow it worked," he said, shrugging. "But aside from that, I've met her. I don't think I know where she is, though." Did he have her number? He didn't think so.
He walked away from the kitten to pick up his skateboard, tucking it under his arm. "I'm not sure if Po'll know to be honest. I only met Po a couple days ago." He shrugged. "Couldn't hurt to ask, at the very least."

As Merope started to describe the princess, Diana's face lit up like Christmas. Her eyes were wide like saucers and her mouth started to hang open in a huge smile. But as he continued to speak, her mouth slowly closed, and her forehead began to furrow. In fact, she pretty well scrunched up her entire face.
"Chibi, yes. Leopard? I don't know what you are talking about." oh that wasn't good. Plus Merope didn't know where she was? That wasn't helpful either.
And really, was it wise for anyone to leave someone who would blast a dog halfway into kingdom come to have any sort of power crystal? Neve rmind that for now. She shook her whole self and hopped up onto Merope's shoulder.
"Okay Sailor Merope, it's a start." At least there was a confirmed princess sighting. This was more than she could really hope for at the moment. The idea of Small Lady cruising around with some leopard left much to be desired however.
"Thank you." she nuzzled against the side of his face, purring loudly in his ear.

At least he had some parts of it right. He was cheered up by the kitten's reaction (the fact that she was downright adorable helped out) to the point where he was grinning right along with her. When she scrunched up her face, though, Merope looked a bit disappointed. Did he say something wrong? It was true that the woman the little kitten had sought had a leopard companion. One that talked and had a Japanese accent, just like her. But given her confusion, she didn't seem to know about them.
He winced as the kitten jumped up onto him and clawed her way into position, stopping when he realized that he couldn't feel the tiny cat's claws at all. "Hey, no problem Diana." He replied, reaching up to scratch her behind the ears. "The most I can do is take you back to my place. Maybe Poseidon or Orion know the one you're looking for, or someone else on my team does. At the very least, it'd be a place to crash."
Merope paused, then added, "We can go there two ways. I can take us there on my skateboard, spring across rooftops senshi style, or we can really go there in style. Except going there in style might attract too much attention that we don't want. What do you want to do?"

The kitten's head flattened low as Merope scritched behind her ears. Now that she liked. Merope started talking about someone named Orion, and more senshi? Well, that was something that lifted her spirits. The kitten was anxious to meet them all, reveling for a moment in the idea that she'd finally at least pushed the door open on her main objective.
"Uh, well! I don't know what you mean by in style, but I think I attracted enough attention for one day." she kinda laughed awkwardly, thinking back to the man with the broom and the dog.
"Perhaps your... skateboard would be best at this point. Blend in with the people in the town?"

Merope lifted a shoulder in a shrug, making sure to perform the gesture with the one the little kitten wasn't on. "Allright, suit yourself." He sounded a bit disappointed -- he was quite attached to his crystal's power, even if summoning a seven-foot tall magical wave and surfing on it through the city was too much.
His pirate-esque uniform shimmered and faded, the material transforming into the boy's street clothes. "Here, let me hold you. I'm not sure you wanna spend the entire time with your claws digging into my shoulder," Carter said, carefully plucking the kitten up and off of his shoulder in order to hold her in the crook of his arm.
With that accomplished, he set his skateboard down and rested one foot on it. "Er, you might want to dig your claws into my arm?" He suggested after a moment, "Cause I'm not sure if you'll be comfortable with this. Ready? Here we go!" Without waiting for a response, he pushed off and picked up speed, soon leaving the area with the guardian kitten tucked safely in his arms.
