This is all that is left of the planet Otagio. Once one of the most powerful and technologically-advanced planets in its solar system, it has long been decimated by natural disasters and man-made destruction. A series of earthquakes, followed by a panicked war in the fight for survival among the ruins of their world, tore apart what remained of civilization centuries ago.
That is not to say this is a dead world. Nature has taken back what it once owned long ago, giving way to the rise of species long-forgotten, beaten back by machines. Even some humans thrive among this wild planet, careful to avoid what lurks in the shadows and ruins of their fabled utopias.
Another evil is threatening this land, however. A Blight, an End to All. Black magic lies at the heart of the source and few can stop it..

Tristan woke up to the noise of something outside of his house that was also in his tree. Hm, no one ever gets this far without me knowing. He thought as he got out of bed and started to getting dressed when he changed partially into his demon form and sent his eyes through to see what it was. When he found out and returned to normal form he laughed because it was a cat that had shadow ability. "Well I suggest you disappear cat, I don't like people in my tree." He said walking to the door putting his shirt on still trying to button the last button.

Esaad rummaged through the rotting books in disgust. She had been hoping to find more about the world before its demise - landmarks, perhaps, to where survivors would gather - but it was as she feared. The fact that the covers had remained intact was miraculous itself, but she was no mood to consider the divine. She hurled the book through an already broken window with a frustrated growl. The library, while amusing, was useless to her after all. "Like any human artifice," she complained, her leathery wings shifting in size until they were only about two feet long and narrow. Much easier to maneuver. She could sense the presence of other beings nearby - there always was one or two lately - but they flickered on the edge of her mind like gnats, annoying and pointless.

Tristan smiled as the cat just sat there and started to smile at him or it seemed to be anyway. Tristan sat down and looked at it smiling more as he gathered energy from anything in the area other than his own tree and used it to crush the cat into as small ball of fur. Well that was amusing and maybe I can have more fun if I got some one to feel that. Now for the nasty part. He thought as he picked up the small ball and started eating it. It was the only way he can have its form. If he did not eat everything of it he could not look like it. After he ate it he climbed his house quickly to watch and feel for anyone around him waiting for something. If nothing found him he would look for something. And today he was going to do something different than his normal day to day activity.

"Hmm, that wasn't human," she thought, glancing up as she felt the burst of power. She frowned, trying to place it as she compared it against other energies she had felt in her lifetime, and grinned. "A half-demon, huh? Seems like a violent one, too, if that energy is anything to go off of." Picking herself up and heading to a second-story window, or the ruin of one anyway, she launched herself out and easily gained momentum by the surge of power as her wings grew and spread long enough to support her weight. The energy seemed to be in the trees nearby and she groaned. "I hope it's not some hippie that doesn't bathe," she remarked, pulling upon the old human term and grinning at herself. She landed on a branch, wings back to their small form, and looked around. It was around here somewhere, she felt it.

Tristan looked toward the energy that was moving towards him and started to take a little from it to make sure it can find him and it was barely any energy so it should not get mad at him unless it was weak and needed that small energy. Then he realized that if he did not move closer to what was coming his new plan would not work so he jumped off his house and got far enough to where he could not see his house but now that means his plans are now completely changed but one thing. So he started thinking of a new plan with the same ending as the last plan. Also while he waited he started eating the energy from the tree he was leaning against.

Esaad chuckled to herself when she felt the half-demon drain some energy from her. "Good, it's male," she realized in satisfaction, abruptly cutting her energy off from him. It had been a while since she had met anything male other than a human, whose energy was enough but not satisfying. She followed his energy, now draining something else, and shifted into the cat form she had chosen as her shadow feature. Centuries ago, it was necessary to take on a corporeal form to drain energy and household pets were the easiest thing to copy. Her claws dug into the branches as she paused, within eyesight of the new man.

Tristan looked up as soon as it cut off the energy that was coming from it. Then the cat came into view and he smiled wondering why it was a cat. How many cats will I meet in one day. He thought wondering if he should turn into one for fun. Cats cant move as fast as it was moving even with powers. He just waited there smiling as leaves started to fall from the dying tree and not one leave landed on him. "Why so far? I feed twice in the last hour so no need to be so far away." He said not to loudly but enough that she would hear him from the distance.

"I'd much rather be safe than sorry," Esaad replied calmly, shifting back into her human form with a swirl of smoke and ash, red eyes briefly glowing with power. "One never knows what a stranger will try." She sucked power from him, relishing in the odd taste - so different than a human, and yet so similar it was funny. She didn't take much, just enough that he knew she could. She moved closer, only a few feet away from him, and stared at him with a narrow gaze.

He smiled a little bit more when she changed to a normal form but the smile almost disappeared when she took his energy. "Just taking back what I took?" He asked wondering if he was going to have to fight her but pushed that thought away. One of his eyes changed into a cat like eye but was different shades of red so he could see the heat she was giving off.

Esaad nodded. It was as good an explanation as any. She perched on the branch with ease, leaning against the trunk as she watched him carefully. Now that she had his energy, it would be all too easy to possess his mind - and far too boring. Besides, she had no reason to anyway. Her expression remained carefully blank as she watched his eyes change, though her mind raced excitedly.

Tristan kept looking at her and never blinked. "So what are you doing around here? Looking for food, fun, or exploring?" He asked and changed his eye back to normal. He did not know how to start but he know eventually he would get what he was planing to start or start in the middle. As long as it ended different then a normal day he was happy or maybe he should just make it normal. He was still trying to figure that out.

"Exploring. Fun. It depends what happens by the end of the day." Esaad shrugged and glanced away for a second. Not that there was anything interesting around, but she wanted him to know she didn't fear him. "What about you?" she asked, turning back to him. "Do you live here, or are you just traveling?"

"I live here, well around here. I am here for fun and explore areas im not really good in. Also I travel a lot with my house." he said knowing he gave her a really weird answer and thought about her own, especially about the end of the day. "So what were you exploring he said now looking toward the direction she came from and changed his eye again to see if any heat was coming from that way to make sure nothing was on its way.

"Just the area, seeing if there was anything other than humans around," she replied. The word 'humans' escaped in a disgusted tone, she couldn't help herself. Esaad raised an eyebrow in amusement. "You travel with your house? Is it warded or charmed or something? Or did you steal it from Baba Yaga?" she asked with a short laugh, imagining the old witch if someone dared tried to take it.
