The Wishing Star
There’s a strange, bright star over the Kawani lands. It’s a rare sight, and legend has it that the star can grant a few select Soquili (or Kawani people) a special wish. Head up to the top of the hill and place a small (IC only) offering on the alter and make your wish. Think carefully about your wish, however, as you only get to make one! Breakdown of Important Info:Opens: Now! Closes: Tuesday May 17th, 6pm CST. HOWEVER, I will be leaving this thread here/rolling in a separate thread if another colorist wants to use this in the future for their freebie months. Soquili Available: 5 From Sabin: A randomly rolled winner from each of the wish categories. (5 soquili). I reserve the right to roll or CC an extra winner(s) if I feel like it. RULES
This thread is only for posting your wish. Please don't chat or ask questions here in the thread. If you have a question, you can PM me.
You may only make one "wish" from one of the categories listed in the next post
No skinwalkers, angeni, or mutants will be given out. Also, nothing over moderate edits. Please note all the wishes will give COLORIST CHOICE prizes. There is no guarantee of breed or edit level (or edits at all). While you may be able to influence the look of your prize a bit, the end result is completely up to the colorist.
Other colorists are welcome to join in on this event, right up until the end, so there is no guarentee on if you win who will be making a soquili for you.
HOWEVER, any soquili won/given out here is absolutely free, and will not count towards custom cooldown, breeding cooldown, etc.
The short responses are just meant to be that - short. No more than a paragraph ^^. They should NOT include aesthetic specifics of what you're looking for - just what the soquilii would ask for.
When picking a wish, you must be wishing from the perspective of a soquili that you own. So, for example, for the "Miracle Baby" category wish, you must own at least one of the parents. Anyone, even if you do not own a soquili, can wish the final category wish, for "A True Friend."
When referring to another person's soquili for the Miracle Baby have them post in this special Permissions Thread
If you wish is granted, it is your choice to keep your prize, co-own it, or give it away to a friend for more interesting Roleplay possibilities. The point of this contest is to help people push along plots and find RP partners. While not required, if you win a Soq from this event we suggest giving it away to someone you want to RP with.
NEW - If you are making a "long lost family member" wish - the soquili making the wish must be 1st generation. Otherwise, it implies a breeding of one of the parents or other relatives that is likely owned by someone else and might interfere with their histories/backstories of their soquili and I do not want to potentially interfere with someone's existing involved family.

I Wish For.... You can choose from any of the following wishes to make. You can only pick ONE. A Miracle BabyThis wish can be wished by either potential parent of a couple that can not normally have children via normal breeding slots. IE: gay/lesbian couples, species that cannot interbreed (Such as regular/usdia, regular/mer, seathi/usdia), or a couple whom one or both of the parents have already used their 3 breedings IF this couple has not already actually bred before with each other . If your wish is granted, the couple might find a special basket near the home one day. This ”baby” will follow all the rules of a customed family member, will not count against either parents breeding slots, and will be labeled as a gen 1 as it will not be a –genetic- baby of the couple, but a special gift from the Star. Therefore, it is possible that the breed may even be different than both of the parents, but it is ultimately the discretion of the colorists.
The basket is given to the user who enters this wish. Keep in mind that only one basket will be granted to the person whose wish is granted, although they can co-own or gift it. With much thought and consideration, she offered her memories of her sister. Her first steps, her first smile..the glowing faces of her family, who had always been there for them both. Now was the chance for them to be a family again. Short IC Response: What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask to find their relative? Acacia couldn’t believe it was happening. After holding out hope that her sister had survived the fire that had taken the rest of her family, she was here and her wish was about to be granted. Her voice caught in her throat, “I have searched for her for years. I loved her from the moment she was born. All I’ve wanted is to see her face again. To know, she is okay and that I love her. Please, help me. I would give anything.” (Her sister’s name is Ashe, I’ve RP’ed the clues that her sister survived the same fire Acacia did (the only one of their family). I just haven’t got to the point where she finds out what her sister’s name was, as she was so freshly born as to be unnamed when the fire occurred.) A NemesisSoquili That Needs a Rival: MaisieGender Preference: Male What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star?: Maisie didn't exactly have a clue what a star might want but she figured showing it how beautiful it truly is was a good thought. She brought it a 'mirror' Short IC Response: Maisie never really wished for anything besides happiness but when she heard about this special star that hung in the sky, supposedly having mystical powers one thing crossed her mind. What if she could finally confront the man that crippled her life? Her step-father who drove her sweet mother to suicide and left Maisie a broken, cautious foal with nobody to lean on. Oh, the things she would say to that terrible, degrading, wicked man with no heart. What might a star like, though? What would a star need? Using a broken coconut shell she had found on the beach she filled it with fresh, clear water and laid it on top of the hill, being careful not to spill any. "There... now you can see how beautiful you really are..." she smile up brightly at the star and shut her eyes. "Please oh please... where ever he might be. I just... I want to tell him how much he's ruined me... my mother deserves some sort of revenge..." She sighed softly, figuring it was a long shot to be wishing upon a star. She turned and began to scale back down the mountain, hoping the star would be happy with the 'mirror' she left for it's ego.

What does a soquili leave for a star? Is a lock of mane acceptable? Short IC Response: "Hey, star. I know I'm kind of small and silly, but...could you bring me...someone I could spend the rest of my life with? Someone who needs me...who maybe...doesn't have anyone else. Thank you for listening, star." she felt rather inadequate, but maybe it would listen. She cut a lock of her mane off on a handy tree branch, thinking it was probably the best thing she had to give.

A NemesisSoquili That Needs a Rival: DemonGender Preference: Surprise me! It wouldn't matter if it was female or male. Any breed or cross-breed (though some Kalona blood no matter how diluted would be cool). =D What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? Blood, bone, horn and flesh from a pure Unicorn; since Demon was always taught that Unicorns have a inherent sence of 'Justice' he hopes that by committing this act and wishing over the destroyed remains will give his wish the power it needs to come true. Short IC Response: Demon growled and spat out more of the Unicorn blood before raising his eyes to the sky, the turbulent night sky was perfect, the storm clouds of rolling black contrasting perfectly with the twinkling stars. In his mind he saw the reflection of this moment.... good and evil, mixed together but with the evil eventually winning out. He smiled, blood dripping from his long fangs. Slowly he licked them, unsure why he was he doing this but at the same time bored of the monotony that had become his life. No longer was it full of adventure and excitement, no longer was it a game where he had to figure out the rules to survive.... no, now he was the game master and nothing moved without his knowledge. Boring. Another growl escaped his lips as the satisfying scent of a fresh kill tickled and teased his nose, but he knew that now was not the time for such thrills or needs. No, now was the time to see his research put into action. He had discovered that when a creature of evil slaughtered an innocent Unicorn and wished over their tattered remains to the night sky that they would be presented with a challenge unlike anything they had ever experienced before. Oh how Demon longed for such a challenge, for something new to overcome and destroy. A new game. New rules for him to master. His smile widened. It was time. He contemplated closing his eyes but decided that focusing their evil glow would help him concentrate, taking a deep breath he set about the task at hand. "Star bright, star light, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish this night." And with that he leaned into his kill and tore off a single mouthful before swallowing it whole. Now only time would tell if what he has learnt was true, if not... a certain Kelpie was about to become his new play thing. That thought almost made him smile.

The newest leaf from a newly green tree, it's special because it's the first tree he saw when he woke up. Short IC Response: Zavis looked at the star, he'd never felt so lonely, even with Kali nestled under his wing. He took a deep breath and blew it out sharply. He wished he could remember his previous life, his foalhood, growing his wings, feeling those awkward teenage things that came with growing up. He remembered nothing, recognised nothing of where he was when he'd woke up. Sighing again he linked the single tear from his eye and bunched his wings against his sides "Star... if you really are able to grant wishes ... then i wish i could find someone who i knew, who could tell me about myself and maybe help me remember" he whispered. There.. he'd done it, he'd ventured out into the meadow in the dark to find the star Kali had once told him about. Looking around, he turned his back on the star, moving back towards the darkness of the trees. He turned his gaze back one last time "Please ...."

What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? Conleth leaves a small bit of bark that he carved out with his hoof while training. The bark resembled a star, so he chose this as an offering, hoping it was enough.
Short IC Response: His head raised, Conleth watched the sky with a puzzled expression on his features. He never really cared much about such things. Stars and legends. He was more brute force and headstrong. But his mate had influenced him to come up here, and on the way, he knew the perfect thing to wish for. He did, after all, have a family now. And with, that, came a lot of responsibility, as well as something that he was truly going to do in the future, so why not have it sooner than later?
"Okay star, listen up. What I want... or.. wish, however I'm supposed to say it, for you to do, is bring that b*****d here who hunts our family. The one that said he wouldn't stop until he killed me and Pyralis for leaving the club. Do that for me, so I can get him away from my family for good, and I'd be grateful forever. Um.... Thanks." And with that, Conleth turned, and headed back down the hill, and back toward his mate.

What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star?
Nakia brings forth a simple offering in appearance but one that carries much to her heart. A simple pendant, carved into the likeness of a blue flame (much like the fire that dominants her families' blood) that hangs off a silver chain.
A gift from a dear friend, made by the hands of the human that cared for them, and a simple reminder to always look towards the light.
Short IC Response:
All her life, Nakia has known nothing but love; the love of song, the love of flights' blessing, the love of family and friends. Yet, the love of true love eludes this young mares' grasp. She knows little of the smile of a mate, the warm embraces, the sweet words whispered softly...the joy of knowing that he would always be at her side through thick and thin.
The pain only worsened when those of her blood family and those of her "herd" found what she could not. Yet....
Yet....
Nakia could not bring herself to lash out in jealousy. Could not bring herself to storm away in tears.
Instead, on this warm night of clearest sight, she looked towards the heavens as the Wishing Star sparkled gently against dark sky while the glittering pendant swung slightly; the blue gem glittered, reflecting the star back unto itself.
"To you who listen to us...please...." She paused, a single tear sliding down her cheek. "If he is out there...if he wanders, alone and fearful, please...Let your brilliant light guide him. Tell him I am waiting, that I will always wait for his warmth...That..."
Another pause as she ducked her head, the last part of the wish barely a whisper on the winds' breath.
"That I love him..."

One of her fish friends that had passed away. Morbid yes, but to her it is a treasured friend. Short IC Response: Fisch stared up at the sky, her head sticking out of the water as she sighed. Her one fish friend had passed away recently, as she had decided she was going to give it to the star above her. "Star!" She bobbed her head up and down for a moment. "I give you my friend to keep you company... I really wish I could find someone to do the same!

A flower from her garden. Her garden is the most valuable things she owns. Short IC Response: Oh dear star, how I long for my long lost brother. Since I came to this land to takeover the herd after my grandfather died, I have grown quite lonely. My herd needs another strong leader should something happen to me. Please dear star, grant me this wish and I promise to leave a flower for you each day and also promise to ensure that many soquili that come to my herd will have a home as well as protection.
