Names Parasite and Tapeworm
Genders Female and Male
Age 23
Species Human
Occupation Cirqo Nelle Stelle, Knife Throwers

Appearance They both stand at 5'10''. They both a dark brown hair that reaches just past their shoulders and dark green eyes. They both wear bright purple jeans, the only difference between them is Parasite's plain black dress and Tapeworm's plain black shirt. If they want to confuse people, all they do is add a baggy jacket over their clothing. They were Craniopagus twins (Siamese twins conjoined at the head) but were separated at birth. If their hair was shaved off, there would be identical scars down the back of their heads.

Picture The ever so wonderful Maeko drew me a picture of the twins celebrating after Parasite operation! Yay! Twins~

Personality They consider themselves to be two separated sides of the same person. They'll speak in first person if they're talking about themselves as a whole and in third person if they're talking about themselves as a separate part. Parasite is the more emotional of the two and she's prone to acting without thinking. While she often voices her dislike for people, it's rare for her to do something that would put someone in danger. She's also fairly vain. Compared to her brother, she has an innocent curiosity while he has a jaded outlook on life. Tapeworm contemplates all of his actions before acting. He's the more reserved one, but he's also a lot more willing to attack if he feels if his weaker half is in danger. Underneath his calm façade, he's fairly violent. He's also the mastermind behind any mischief they get into.

Abilities They are both extremely fit and can run for a fair bit of time. Both have impeccable aim with their throwing knives, which are on their person at all times. Between the two of them, there are at least twenty knives hidden on their person. They also have mild telepathic abilities that only work with one another. As long as they are within twenty feet of one another, they can share thoughts. As long as they're within five miles of one another, they can share their feelings.

Weaknesses If Parasite is threatened, Tapeworm will do anything to help and defend her. Since Parasite is dependent on Tapeworm, if she can't see or feel him, she starts breaking down. It happened once, and the scars she ended up leaving on her stomach and chest have yet to fade. If either twin is killed, the other will kill themselves the moment they find out.

Backstory On a normal day in a normal city, two healthy male twins were born. Except their conjoined heads caused their mother to weep. Given the option of surgery, even though the possibility of death was high, the single mother accepted. Luckily for her, the twins survived. She was a loving and doting mother until she was killed when crossing the street. A simple accident.

The young twins, only a few months old at this point, were shipped off to their crazy father who happily lived in a cabin in the middle of the woods. He was obsessed with the occult and how twins were a bad omen. He forced the twins to think and act as if they were the same person. If they didn't, he'd happily lock them into a tiny closet for days in end with nothing but a small bowl of water. Of course, that was when he was in a good mood. His bad moods ended leaving multitudes of scars across their bodies.

It wasn't hard for them, considering how strong their survival instincts were. So they easily responded to one name. Except they needed to tell each other apart, so the younger twin went by Left and the older Right. Their disturbed life went on like that for some time until their father, in his own twisted version of a celebration decided that it really would just be easier to kill off the younger twin. Of course, he was extra drunk that night, so as he held down a terrified Left, he didn't notice an enraged Right swing a barstool at his head, easily knocking him out.

The fifteen year old Right didn't stop hitting their father's head until Left gently touched his arm. The two quickly scrambled together as much money as they could find before they headed out for a city, hoping that they'd find a way to support themselves. Their father's body would be found a week later, rotting and the head completely smashed. They knew it was the twins who did it, except no one could find them. So the case just ended up fading into the background.

At that point, Right and Left had joined a traveling circus known at the Constellation. Everyone in that circus was named after bugs or parasites, so they christened Right as Tapeworm and Left as Parasite. The twins didn't like having different names, but the knife thrower explained that a Tapeworm to them meant Right and a Parasite meant Left. It was a strange logic that intrigued Parasite while Tapeworm scoffed that it wasn't logic at all. However, both kept their new names.

Tapeworm and Parasite became obsessed with the knife thrower and her knives, both begging to become her apprentice. She ended up accepting the boys so she could train them so they could master the art of knives. Four years later, they had learned everything they could from the knife thrower, so they decided to leave their home at the Constellation to see if they could learn more from other circuses.

At one point during their travels, Parasite brought up the fact that he didn't feel right. Tapeworm agreed that his brother wasn't right. The younger one had never really felt right. So Tapeworm allowed Parasite to spend all of their money in order to feel right. Parasite ended up finding an underground doctor who was wiling to give him a sex change. The next time they stood side by side, arms linked, it felt right. They finally felt complete.

They just traveled for a while, hitching rides with various circuses but always keeping their new Right Left names, Tapeworm and Parasite. There was a point in time when Parasite was kidnapped, taken out of range of their vague telepathic abilities. She turned crazed in an effort to make it back to her brother, she ended up attacking and causing her kidnappers to fall unconscious. Except she had two problems. Her ankles were sprained and there was a good seven feet of broken glass she would have to crawl through. Unable to think anything through, she ended up dragging herself halfway through it before Tapeworm appeared and saved her. Another thing is that they met their favorite Ringmaster before making it to Nelle Stelle. After making him several promises, the next thing they knew they had arrived at Nelle Stelle.

Facts Yes, Parasite had a sex change from a boy to a girl, if I didn't end up making that obvious enough.

Sample Parasite yelped before giggling in glee as her attacker's skull was bashed into the alley's wall. The large man had easily been knocked out from the surprise attack her Tapeworm had sprung. "Parasite is happy!" she sung as she dug through the man's pockets, quickly extracting anything that could be of use to them. She tossed them over her shoulder without looking, knowing Tapeworm was catching everyone she tossed at him with ease. Just as she began fiddling with the man's heavy gold necklace, he groaned loudly and opened his eyes slowly. Just as he spotted the girl who had lured him into the alley, a heavy black boot crashed into his head.

"I must work faster!" they both muttered at the same time. "I really only have a good thirty seconds…" they trailed off before Parasite gave a cry of happiness as she finally snagged the gold necklace.

"Run! Run, run, run!" Parasite laughed as she darted further into the twisting and turning passages of the alley, Tapeworm close behind. Scrambling onto a dumpster, Parasite used its height to jump over a chain link fence. Tapeworm easily scaled the fence, smirking at his sister's pout. They continued through the twisting alleys until they finally reached the crumbling office building they claimed as their own until they found a new circus to play around with.

Parasite brushed off her clothing, despite the fact she knew they were practically flawless. Of course they were. She was the one wearing them, after all. "Does Parasite look alright? She wants to look pretty!" she spun in a circle in front of her brother, smiling. Tapeworm only rolled his eyes before he carefully sat down on the floor in order to count their earnings of the day. They didn't have much stashed away since Parasite's change. He didn't begrudge her, though. They felt better now, which was the only thing that mattered.

"Tapeworm thinks he's beautiful." he replied, knowing his sister would understand the backwards, perhaps roundabout, logic.

"Parasite thinks you know what you're talking about." Parasite flopped down next to her brother before laying down and curling around him. She closed her eyes and smiled, feeling content and knowing her brother was too.

"Good night," they said at the same time, voices managing to meld together in such a way that it sounded just like one person. Because that's what they were, two sides of a single person. They were like two sides of a single coin. Since they were a single entity, they knew that it didn't matter they had no food or water or money or a stable roof over their heads. They didn't need it. As long as their coin was never broken, they would continue to live.

So as Tapeworm played with one of his favorite knives as he separated the useless from the useful, he knew they would be fine. Besides, if they did end up needing some quick cash, he could always end up whoring out Para--

Tapeworm cursed as his arm was suddenly bit hard. "Parasite heard that." his sister growled before settling back down to sleep.

"That was a compliment."Tapeworm grunted before he went back to his task. All was as it should, and it felt wonderful.

Hello! And welcome aboard!
What I have to say is, finally twins! Lol.

I really like the sample. *.* Though, their dialogue is confusing. How'd you write that without confusing yourself?

Hi, and thank you! biggrin

I really just stared at the lines for a really long time, hoping that I didn't accidentally mess up. I didn't realize how confusing it is to write in third person until I actually did it. Luckily, I don't think I broke too many people's minds in confusion…

WELCOME!

I gotta say, they're creepily adorable.

I get the feeling that we're going to get along very well. xD

The twins seem adorable~ I don't see why they're creepy at all. Tapeworm is an awesome big brother. c': Parasite and Eli would probably get along. Though I'm not so sure what Tapeworm would think.

I find the way they speak really intruiging. Can't wait to interact with them! ^^

I think just the fact that they are the way they are because their father abused them into it ... that makes me feel like I'm looking at a twisted work of art, manipulated by a madman, when I read their speech.
