It was a chilly day when Kinuka had woken up this morning. She didn't have any lessons today but she liked listening to the stories that the older lions had to tell. It helped her understand more about the pride's history. Yawning lazily, Kinuka stepped out of her den and took a deep breath as the wind swept through her fur.

For some reason it seemed like the main communal areas of the pride were empty and maybe it was because she had woken up particularly early today. It seemed like it was going to be one of those quiet days. Kinuka sat down underneath one of her favorite places, a gnarled, old tree not too far from the dens. It was one of the only places that she could think in peace though it was much colder than she would have liked...

Shivering slightly, the lioness sat on her haunches and closed her eyes. Her thoughts took her back to the early era of the pride's history and she began going over the stories piecing everything together. Her eyes snapped open and her eyes leered to her right as if she had heard something in the distance but there wasn't anything... Frowning, Kinuka didn't like the feeling that there was something watching her.
