Faleen remained with her back against the wall for a couple of seconds after the group shoving Lance along has passed her in the hall, Lead by her friend, Elite Nyx.

She hadn't expected that, it caught her completely off guard.

Not that it mattered anyway.
Stepping back into the middle of the hall, the engineer gently folded her hands behind her back, wordlessly continuing down the hall. She knew exactly what was going to happen.
This would mean he would be alive for a while longer... most of her wanted him dead... at least then there would be no more unexpected encounters like that.

She put it to the back of her mind, brisking her step as, She had somewhere to be, and someone to meet.

Her expression might have been a little harder than normal when she strode into the weapon's department's shooting range, glancing around for Agent Asch.

And he was there, leaning against a wall and staring quietly at Faleen as she walked in. He didn't really know her very well, but there was distinct tension coming from her. Asch paid it no mind, since it wasn't really any of his business anyway. Instead, he stood up straight and addressed the fellow agent.

"You're late," he told her, glancing at a wall clock as if to emphasize his point. Not that she was all that late, a minute or two at most, but late nonetheless.

On a table nearby, there was a few different types of guns lined up for them to potentially use in the target practice. Everything from a small, standard issue hand pistol, to the large beam rifle that they had used the other day.

When she spotted Asch, she made her way over, only to stop abruptly when he told her she was late, shocked, and surprised by that she looked at the clock quickly, only to see that he was right.

She blushed in embarrassment, horrified to see that she was indeed... late, she was -never- late.
Looking back at Asch "My sincere apologies, there was a hold up in the hall, I should not have been distracted."
She wasn't making excuses, and with a sheepish smile she stepped over,
"Thank you for meeting me, I do appreciate you taking the time to help me with this."

Looking to the table with the guns, she stepped over to get a better examination of them, tilting her head softly and reaching out to touch the ray gun that she was already familiar with "Is this Seth's model?" She was a little surprised to see it here.

"It's not a big deal," Asch muttered, and indeed it wasn't since this was a more casual thing. Kunai however, would simply not have tolerated it. He was already coming to know the elite well enough to know what she expected. If she had been a subordinate, he would have been much more harsh with Faleen, but that wasn't the case.

He words of appreciation though, drew a momentary silence from the red head before he assured her. "It's fine. Most Rockets should know how to fire a gun properly, even if they aren't a marksman. You can never be sure when you might need the skill."

Standing next to her at the table, his green gaze went to the beam rifle when Faleen brought it up, and he nodded. "Yeah. I haven't had a chance to field test it yet. That mission was delayed in favor of a more important one. It hasn't had any modifications since you last used it." Simply because Asch hadn't returned it yet. Seth was probably biting at the bit, but the situation couldn't be helped.

"What experience do you have with firearms?"

"I agree, It seems like it would be a useful skill to have." She knew not many of them walked around with guns, or were even allowed to, but still, is a situation called for it, she knew she would want to know how to operate something like that.

"Oh I see, so its not been refined yet" She added, remembering the monster kick this creature had. She wouldn't mind taking a look at it herself, our of curiosity. but now was not the time for that.

"Building them? fixing them? Enough to know how they work, but firing them? very little, I think the most I was able to handle a firearm was with this rifle, and i know this isn't a ballistic weapon."

Asch simply nodded and picked up the hand pistol that sat on the table and held it out to Faleen for her to take. "We'll start with something small," he told her, waiting for her to take it and see how she handled it. After all, part of how you fired a gun was how you held it, and naturally it affected the aim as well.

"Its more than just a useful skill. If you find yourself in a bad situation, it could mean life or death," he told her plainly. After all, just looked at all those raids where people came back with severe injuries. True, most of them didn't have the clearance to use a gun, but they should at least know how to use one if they ended up swiping one from the cops.

At least that was one thing she knew how to do, holding a weapon, well, at least -this- weapon, even if you were just working on the mechanics of it, it was basic safety. Aiming and firing was a different story
Keeping it pointed down, she pulled back on the top of the gun, peering down to see if the clip was loaded, before she let it snap back, and she slapped it back into place.

Being careful to keep it pointed away from everything living.
"I'm certain we've all got the potential to be in situations like that." This she knew very well, missions were not ever considered "Safe" and for a Rocket, just being out in the city was a risk.

She looked up at the younger Agent. "I see these have live ammunition" She said, having seem the bullet in the chamber.

She knew well enough about how to handle guns it appeared, and Asch looked on with quiet approval as Faleen kept the weapon pointed away from either of them and checked the clip.

"Yeah. If you're going to use a beam rifle, you need to at least know how to fire a real one."

Folding his arms across his chest, Asch then nodded his head in the direction of the range. "Give it a try."

He then tossed her some ear plugs and goggles for safety purposes, before stepping back to observe and barked instructions at her.

"You must have the proper stance. Its different for each type of firearm. Feet apart, stay balanced and focus. Both hands on the gun, with your arms straight."

"Lets see how ballistic rounds compare to laser" This would be the first gun she would fire, real gun

When he handed her ear plugs, she carefully place the gun down onto the table, just long enough to properly put on/in the safety gear.
It didn't take long, and once she was ready, the weapon was back in her hand,

She listened carefully to everything that Asch was telling her, adjusting her stance as he had indicated, and lifting the gun to, to point it at the target set in the distance.

The gun did have a sight, so it would make sense she try to light up the target with the sight. Here she paused, to give Asch the change to correct anything she might be doing wrong. "Is this correct?"

Taking a moment to scrutinize her posture, Asch then stepped forward to place his hands on Faleen's shoulders and pulled them back slightly. From behind he also reached forward to adjust her grip on the weapon and made sure her arms were straight. A well trained eye peered from over the other agent's shoulder to see how well she was aiming.

Satisfied, Asch then stepped back again a few paces away to observe once more. "All right. See if you can hit the target," he told her while folding his arms across his chest.

She stood in silence as he looked over her stance, ready to change anything he pointed out,
Instead, he chose a more physical approach to his corrections, It took her by surprise, but it was something she was very used to from years of dance training, and seeing at it wasn't at all inappropriate, she was okay with it, taking his guides to change her stance.

He made sure everything wan in order, then instructed her to take a couple of shots.
So she did, trying to line up with target, and pulled the trigger once.
This one was mostly to get the feel for what kind of kick this weapon had.
She had missed the target though, not that it was particularly bothering to her, she knew what to better expect the next time she pulled the trigger.
So, lining up the next shot, she fired two more times.

They at least hit the target, but they were more sporadic in where they landed, clearly an armature.
But thats why she was here, she knew one time wouldn't make her good, this was something she would need to keep practicing at.

"Well... That's going to take work." She said, tilting her head. She continued though, emptying the clip as she adjusted her targeting.

Asch sighed as he watched, frowning as her aim was certainly... not the best. Still, she missed the entire target! It was perhaps even a little pathetic, but he had enough decency to not say that out loud. Granted she was a beginner and it would take practice. Still, he didn't hesitated to be critical.

"You're thinking about it too much. Relax, and focus on the target."

She then fired the rest of the rounds, and at least hit the target this time. Still, Asch's frown didn't lighten up any.

"You have to keep your arms steady. That's why you're all over the target. It'll take practice."

With that, he turned around to the table and pondered the lineup of weapons for a moment before picking up a revolver and moving up next to Faleen. "Try this one." He told her. But instead of handing it to her right away, he demonstrated the stance in which to hold it. Standing sideways with his feet apart, Asch held the weapon in one hand and aimed by stretching out his arm and leaning slightly. He took a moment to aim and then fired a single shot, which hit the middle of the target.

Standing straight again, he then handed it over to Faleen.

Ah, he was right, she was probably trying to hard.
"Alright."
Not arguing with him, she looked to the new gun when he showed how to stand with it, than took it, after placing the first gun down.

Taking up her stance again, she held the other up, only this time, she tried again.
This time she took a slow breath, arms steady... don't think to much, just... shoot.

Slowly, she was starting to get better, it took several times, it was a matter of discovering how the proper stance was supposed to feel, and how the gun worked.
The grouping of the shots were getting a little more consistent anyway.

"I'm hoping to be able to fit more practice into my schedule... do you have any recommendations as to how often would be best?"
She asked, once the revolver was empty, and she moved to set that one down as well, glancing over the others that were waiting on the table. they steadily got bigger.

Asch watched as Faleen tried the revolver with improved results. It looked like she was learning fairly quickly, and that was good. He didn't care to have to teach someone who was stupid and not getting it. When she emptied the revolver, he then picked up a standard rifle.

Checking the larger gun as she asked her question, he didn't look up as he responded. "As often as you can until you get the hang of it. I practice about once a week." He then held the rifle up in a firing posture, aiming it at the target in demonstration before handing it to Faleen.

"Firing a rifle is different than a hand gun, obviously. With a shotgun you point, focus on the target, then fire. With a rifle you aim, align your sites with the target, and then pull the trigger. The way you breathe is also important. If you breathe at the wrong time in the wrong way, you'll throw off your aim. What you want to do is take a deep breath, sight the target, let half of your breath out, shoot, then exhale completely. As you get more comfortable with shooting, you'll develop your own techniques as I did. Give it a try."

Again he stepped back to observe how Faleen handled this gun.

"Alright, I will be sure to take up some practicing as often as I can spare."

She nodded with his instructions, running them through her mind again as she took the new gun from him,
She made sure she was comfortable with handling it before she attempted firing.

This one was different from the other two, felt and handled differently, and was much stronger.
She took his advice about the breathing, and it seemed to help.
Her shot still needed work, but it wasn't missing anymore at least.

Letting out another breath as she straightened up and lowered the point of the weapon toward the ground once she was finished.
"I've been meaning to bring something up with you"
She said, "Involving a mission I think you had in the city." she looked over at him "and apologize if my presence hindered that mission in any way."

She turned to face him though, with a slight frown on her face, with more of a curious look than anything.
"... But, if I am permitted to ask, what does my younger sister have to do with anything Rocket related?"

This had been something that had been bothering Faleen for a while, she hoped she hadn't some anything to make his job more difficult, but at the same time, what was Rocket doing with her younger sister?
