Tonberries are said to have some relation to the spirits of monks who used to guide travellers in the dark of night. However, they are lone creatures and any sort of identified 'group' history has been lost from their lack of close-knit communities, dwindled down to mostly heresay which was recreated in human culture and obscured further by the lack of ability to distinguish which is their real history and which was fabricated.

Cassandra can be impulsive, making decisions on a whim without fully thinking out the consequences as seen in her choice to become a hunter as well as removing the mask from the trials and causing head explosion of messiness. In fact, one could say that Cassandra is 'too' free, wanting to try anything, do anything, and being a jack of all trades, master to none, suits her well.
On top of being impulsive, Cassandra has a rather tough hide able to withstand most things that are flung upon her, emotionally, unless there is a crack in her psyche, allowing her to handle Nicodemus's moments of rage rather well most of the time.
She'll never avoid the chance to be in a group of people if she can help it, social, happy to chat, and...uhh.... Oh shi- what are you guys talking about??
Cass is unfortunately not the most socially versed and doesn't have the knowledge of most popular culture, mostly knowing internet memes and other popular -video game- culture. Portal? Got it. Half life? Got it. Amnesia? Didn't even jump at it man. Can they get a Castle Brenenburg? She'd totally dig it.
RANDOM FACTS:
1) Cass has read most of Wikipedia. However if you ask her to recall it, she'll just stare at you blankly and likely say something dumb.
2) Cass hates what she considers to be 'ghosts' because of their role in her personal history and the effect they had on her life for existing.
Nicodemus is a slowly boiling pot of water. Think somewhere closer to medium than warm heat on the stove. It's like 'Bide' attack in pokemon, only instead of unleashing all of the irritations that have been spent upon him onto someone else times two, he simply explodes into one concentrated point of rage, right where it hurts.
Despite this, he's not that bad of a guy, quick to share his knowledge with Cassandra and even asking her to pass it on to someone else if he feels they may need to know it in the near future. In fact, if it weren't for the fact his tolerance for unneeded idiocy was so low, one would say he was a patient fellow.
He's a little bit more thoughtful on matters than Cassandra is and will approach things slowly and carefully and will advise his user to do the same, if only to keep him from having to replace her again so soon. Fortunately, Cass is a tough cookie and his moments of mood-swings will roll right off of her with a quick apology and some soothing of the weapon's nerves.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? Cassandra desired freedom from a life burdened by a lack of choice. While it is not the normal life she would have loved to have, it is more normal than she could have been if she'd remained on the leash made by her parents.
Weapon Ability DOINK! Like the traditional tonberry, with enough time allowed for buildup, two hands on the gunblade half of this weapon and a good thrust from it's holder can deal a significant amount of damage, harming even well shielded opponents. However, it takes quite a large quantity of fear and force from the holder to do this.
