It was the hottest part of the day, which meant this Lion was sprawled out on the ground by the near by lake. Many animals wouldn't be traveling, unless it was to get water, which was why he was near it. And though he should be hunting now, he couldn't help but just lay their, soaking up the suns energy.

After a few hours passed, he found himself standing from the tall grass and moving towards the lake, being lazy really makes a fellow thirsty after all. He hadn't caught a meal yet today, but he had quite the amazing feast last night so this was alright. He wasn't fretting at all over the lack of meals, just casually moving to the water and taking in his fill. He seemed to be a rather peaceful lion for the most part, very calm and peaceful.

Once he had his fair amount of water, he sat down and looked out at the rest of the grass lands, many of what he would consider to be prey had run off the moment they saw him, so there was just the movement of the grass as the wind strode across. It felt... Magical almost... But this was just starting to make this adult tired again, so he began to move from the water, and back into the tall Savannah grass lands.

User Image Unlike the lazy lion moseying away from the water, Phrixus was hurrying towards it. He'd been looking for water for what felt like all day. And after a day of being up to no good. Two cubs stolen and returned before the mommy realized they were gone, winning three fights, and nicking the necklace off a female he'd seduced. Go him.

He'd taken a break from Kouki again, seriously he wasn't going to let his little brother braid his mane anytime soon, and if that kid didn't get some actual art done to satisfy his inner artisan, Phrixus was the one that was going to go insane. Besides, Kouki never wanted to come when Phrixus was looking for trouble.

He almost bumped into the older lion strolling away from the water. "Oi, watch where you're going!"

Amadi was a bit taken a bit by surprised when he saw the younger male hustling through so quickly. Most animals tried to avoid him these days, but this younger lion just about ran him over. It was quite the change, but Amadi quickly regained his composure after the male had passed by.

Amadi turned and watched as Phrixus ran right to the water he had previously been drinking out. Amadi tilted his head to the side, wondering where the other had come from. This lion must have not been from around here, another rogue it would seem. This adult already had a bad impression of the white and black male, disrespectful to his elders apparently, but no matter. The other was young, he couldn't help but think back to his younger days as he watched the young adult.

Agile, swift, so full of energy. Reminded him of the days before his leg wound. He smiled as the memories came back to him, as if they had only happened yesterday. At least he hadn't lost those yet. He strolled back, towards the lion with a friendly smile, " Hey youngster, sorry about that. I wasn't expecting anyone to pop out of the grass this late in the afternoon." He replied to the other male, humbled per usual. "Don't drink to fast now, I'm sure your thirsty but I 'd rather not have to save you if you start choking on your water."

Phrixus slowly looked up from where he was drinking and licked the excess water from his lips. That older lion was talking to him. Looking him over he didn't look like he'd put up a good fight. Which was a shame because the water had revived him.

"It's fine, old timer. My brother would've gotten run over too. And I never drink water too fast." Silly lion, Phrixus already knew he'd choke if he drank too fast. Looked like this old guy was lonely though and looking for younger company. Phrixus supposed he could take a break from being himself for a bit, one never knew what kind of interesting and useful tidbits old lions had.

"I'm Phrixus." He informed the big brown fellow and washed his paws.

Amadi chuckle's a bit as he watches the younger adult, thinking it funny that he just suddenly decided to introduce himself. " I'm Amadi, it's nice to meet you." Amadi replied, before moving to sit beside the other, next to the water. He dipped his two front paws into the water, cooling off just from the small touch.

"Where are you heading to Phrixus?" He asked, making small talk. It was true, he was feeling a bit lonely sense he couldn't travel around as often as he used too. He normally just sat around in a den near here, he couldn't go far from his home after all. So, he didn't meet many other lions these days. It was too bad, sense he did enjoy the company. Someone like him would be better off in a pride, but because he couldn't travel very often, or very far, he couldn't find a pride. At least, not the right pride for him.

He was a powerful predator, don't get him wrong. It was just, he couldn't run or fight for long periods of time. If he were to be weakened by running too long, or not drinking enough water, there would be no way he could hunt down a zebra or antelope. So he had to reserve most of his energy just for hunting, for living.

"Wherever I can find good fights, pretty lionesses, and sparkly trinkets. Unless I meet up with my brother, in which case, I'm sure we'll be looking for moldable sand, mud, tree branches, shiny rocks and other artsy stuff." Phrixus rolled his eyes at the thought of his artsy and (sometimes wussy) little brother.

"We're mostly wandering around right now, I don't know if we'll ever settle anywhere. What'd you do before you injured that leg?" Phrixus was a trained fighter and killer, he knew the signs of old injuries. Maybe this lion had a good fight story.

Oh, this lion was just a crazy boy wasn't he? Sounded like a lion that could get into trouble, way too easily. Well, he must have been good at getting out of trouble, looking over Phrixus, he wasn't in too bad of shape at all. Good for him, he supposed if you could do something you lovd, you might as well do it, right?

Ah, and then came the question for a story. A youngster wanting to learn from his elder, he never though he'd get to be this old. Forever young, was what he wanted, but not what he got. "Aren't you the exciting one." He paused before getting up and moving away a few steps, then looked back at Phrixus with a grin, " Let's see, where to begin... I supposed I was allot like you. Always on the go, looking for adventure. I wasn't looking for fights, but I got plenty of them, not that minded the fights either. It was mostly good practice. I was very strong in my youth, and it's the only reason why I'm still alive today." He sat back down, looking down at his leg injury. He was starting to get too excited, wanting to run off like he used too, not knowing when he would stop... Not caring where he would stop. The thirst for the new.

"If I hadn't been fighting, if I had let my body get frail, I wouldn't even be able to hunt these days." He chuckled again, finding something ironic with all of this, "I didn't get my injury fighting, or saving someone else. I was merely not paying attention to where I was going and fell in the wrong way, on the wrong thing, at the wrong time." He paused again, sighing sadly... At least that calmed him down a bit... Made him depressed, but now he wouldn't injure his leg.

After a moment to think, he smiled once again, turning to look Phrixus in the face, "I'm sure your making full use of your youth young one, I'm sure you have plenty of tales to tell already. Sooner or later, if you don't die before your youth ends, all that will be left is your memories. So don't get your head banged up too much kiddo."

Seriously? Couldn't the old timer make up an awesome tale of battle to explain away that leg injury? Not just, "I fell in a hole". Honestly. It'd be better if he had lied about how he got it. Oh well.

He did have a point though. Always keep fighting, and watch out for random natural traps. "Oh I've got tales alright. Tons of 'em." He gave a rakish grin. If the old lion wanted them he'd have to ask.
