Deskri had been looking at rings online for a few weeks. He'd been meticulously clearing out the computer's browsing history and temporary files as well, just so Sonnet wouldn't find out. He wanted this to be a secret, just like Valentine's Day, since he had liked the look on her face back then. Alas, the ring search was rather inconclusive. Most of them were too expensive, or just plain ugly.
So, he figured he'd ask for some outside help. Asu was a definite no. Asking anyone related to Sonnet or himself was a no, for that matter. Rasiel was gone, plus he was sure the violin Meta didn't even know he'd moved on with Sonnet anyway, so that was a no. All that was left was Moira, the only other person he talked to. So he got in contact with her and set up a day to head into town and look at rings.
Deskri stood outside the first shop, staring in at the display rings. Most of them seemed too gaudy for Sonnet's taste, but a few of them were nice.

Moira finally made her way to the jewelry shop, having just gotten off of a morning baby sitting job that she had to do. Waving to the pale as ever demon, she smiled, "Hey, I never thought you would actually be looking for rings." she chuckles a little, putting her hands on her hips before looking into the display. "So.. you're finally going to ask her?" The halfbreed asked as she turned to look at the other again, still surprised by it herself. Then again, it seemed like during the past few months, everyone had been maturing.. almost as if the disappearance of the majority of her family worked for the better.

Des looked up as Momo approached, a bit of an awkward grin on his face. "Yeah... I didn't really see myself doing it either, but..." He shrugged a little, "I want this to go that far." He stood up right. "So the budget is pretty strict, artists don't really make a lot around here sooo..." he pointed to one of the displays, "that's about as much as I can go."

"Deskri... you should worry about the look first and then the price. If you need help paying for it, I can pitch in." Moira smiled, tucking her wings behind her back as she stood up straight, glancing back at the rings again and thinking of Vic. "We should head inside, they probably have better rings inside.." she laughs.

"I know... I just... figured I'd see if there were any suitable ones in my price range before getting that desperate..." He sighed. Truthfully, it was a bit of a pride thing... he wanted to be able to do something like this by himself, without anyone's help. He opened the door and waited for Moira to step in before following. The ring selection was a lot better inside, that was for sure. They even had it nicely sorted by price. Deskri of course started from the beginning, just in case anything nice was hidden in the "cheap" rings. "Cheap" was really just less stone, more metal. He figured Sonnet wasn't really a big stone kind of girl. "Nothing too gaudy, I really doubt Sonnet's into that kind of thing..."

The girl can't help but grin as she listens to the other talk, "Well... you could probably find a nice, simple yet elegant ring that won't cost more than 100$.. it does depend on the style though..do you know what her item is?" she asked as she started to skim the cheaper rings as well, wondering if she should switch the roles and ask Vic to marry her when he gets back.
"I think it'd be neat to get one that is based off of her item..but that would be pretty hard depending on what it is." Moira mused as she looked back up to the older male.

"Her item is a quill... so really anything feather-y would work I guess." he shrugged a little. "I'm not sure if there are a lot of rings with feather designs, but it'd be pretty cool if we found one." The awkward grin returned to his face again. "I think a gold colored one would be best..." He noted after seeing that a few of the rings were silver colored. "It'd go better with her coloring I think."

"A quill.." She nodded before going silent, crouching down to see some of the rings a bit closer, skimming all of the rings - some were glanced over while others were stared at in awe due to the detail, but she kept having to remind herself that she wasn't shopping for herself, she was helping Deskri. Letting out a quiet sigh, she stood again before making her way over to another case of rings, this one had mostly rings that could interlock or were stacked. "That is so cool.." she grinned, tapping the glass slightly at one of the Celtic Knot ones.

Deskri looked up from the rings he was staring at to see what had drawn Momo's attention. Since he couldn't get a good look from where he was, he moved to stand next to her and look inside. "Yeah... these ones are pretty cool." He nodded, eyes wandering over them. It would be interesting if they had rings that could attach... the thought was nice, but he wanted to make sure he explored every last ring in the shop before making a decision... he was thankful that this was the only jewelry shop around that was feasible to get to.

Moira smiled a little, going to another case after she had skimmed through all the ones in the puzzle section. After a few more minutes of searching, she saw one ring that might work for what Deskri was doing. "Hey Deskri.. how about this one?" She calls, looking around to find him, wondering where he could've gone off to.

"Hmm?" Deskri looked up from a few rings with various colored stones. He moved over to where Momo was and looked down at the ring in question. Perfect... that was it. "I can't believe I missed this." He leaned in a little bit more. "I think this is perfect.. right color, and it's got feather designs." He grinned and looked up, searching for the person who manned the shop.
"Excuse me... can I get this ring?" He nodded at the ring in the case. The worker shuffled over to them and opened the case to retrieve the ring. "You sure you can afford this?" She asked.
"It's not that expensive..." Deskri frowned a little and dug out his wallet.
"You academy students don't get out much, can't say I know you have the money." She shrugged a little and moved over to the cash register.
"Well I do." Deskri resisted the urge to roll his eyes and placed down the amount on the counter. The worker picked it up, counted it, marked it with one of those counterfeit markers, and then placed is tn the register. "There are no returns, so if she rejects you, I'd go to a pawn shop." The worker shrugged and then returned to cleaning some jewelry in back.
"Humans... why do I always meet the rude ones?" He sighed and looked to Momo. "Thanks for helping."

Moira continued to look at the rings, grinning from ear to ear, though as the woman at the counter mentioned the Academy, she stood and walked over. When the transaction was over, she decided to give her a piece of her mind, "That's not how you treat your customers, see if I recommend this place to anyone with someone as rude as you manning the counter. I'll have you know, a lot of us work in places around here - away from the eyes of humans like you." she spat, turning her back to look at Deskri.
"Some humans just hold grudges against beings like us for no reason." She nods before heading out of the door, flicking the woman off and sticking out her tongue, knowing that it was crude, but it was much better than bashing her face in.

The woman, of course, did nothing but stare back stupidly in response. Deskri couldn't help but crack a smirk on his face at her expression. "Yeah, I get that a lot." He shook his head and opened the door for them to leave. Just then, his phone went off.
He fished it out of his pocket and then stared at the screen. "Augh... of course she has to call." He sighed and flicked the phone open.
"Yes mother?" He answered with the most sarcastic tone he could manage, but his expression said he really didn't mind her calling that much... it was just an inconvenient time.
"What? No... I'm not really busy... no I'm not hiding anything! OKAY! I'll come over!" The expression on his face changed between pauses from mildly annoyed to downright panicked. "I-I have to get some laundry done so it'll take me awhile... no, don't have to come over... Moira's over here already.." He sighed, moving the phone away for a second. "my mom wants to meet you, do you want to put yourself through the terror of meeting her?" He asked with a most serious tone.

Moira stood there, just waiting for the call to finish until she was talked to, "Wait, she wants to meet me? Why?" she asks, looking very, very confused.

"I don't know, she's insane." Deskri shrugged. "I'm going to take that for a yes," he put the phone back to his ear. "She'll come along. Be NICE. And for the love of god stop talking to me like that, it's irritating." Deskri let out an exasperated sigh before hanging up the phone. "Okay. We have to make it back to the academy as fast as possible. Don't mention the ring, or that we were off campus. She's incapable of keeping a secret, okay?" He pocketed the ring and cellphone.
