Istas was sitting outside on her front door step, she hadn't moved from that spot since night fell. Her hand still clutched close to her chest. She'd been plagued by nightmares of Wolframite trying to kill her she was cranky from not being able to sleep after the incident, and she hadn't talked to anyone much after the conversation when they got home.
The thoughts swirled around in her head, what if that had been Hypnos or Hygiea or even Ixion. Could things had turned out different if Iris hadn't come just in time? She hadn't suited up, and her hand was healing fine, the stitched itched though she wondered how long before they would actually remove them, apparently normal time being about a week.
The child sighed, as she sat there. The rest of the house seemed dark, indicating that everyone else was asleep. The child was watching the stars in the sky though hoping for something to make her feel better.

One had to wonder when ********* slept. She, like always, was wandering the streets in an effort to try to do her duties as a guardian. She still had 3 girls to locate. Yes, even with Parthenope being discovered and being quite the opposite of a girl, the manx did not seem to alter her prior label as to the senshi she watched over.
She was never one to meander or merely walk. Oh no, ********* trotted along, keeping her senses to her. Her eyes darted around, trying to make sure no monsters popped out on her (since as any guardian knew, the monsters were very real). However, she eventually came across a familiar energy. She had never been the sort of cat to ignore something familiar like this, so the feline rounded the next corner and began to make her way to the one who went by Hugbell.
Eventually, ********* could see the child, sitting outside looking at the night sky. The manx was no mind reader, but the child's expression was easy enough to read. Sailor Iris had been pretty prompt about informing the tailless cat about the incident that had happened dealing with this child.
"Did you know that for all of those stars in the sky, there was a senshi for it?" The cat wandered to the child, rubbing up against her ankles, hoping her conversation starter was not overly intrusive.

The eyes of the child drew slowly downwards to *********, when she felt the manx rubbing against her ankles. "Really?" Istas asked as she glanced back up into the sky, "Are we really from the stars? Is... that were we belong?"
She'd been thinking on what was said all the times she met a negaverse officer that was willing to talk. The night she'd seen Tanz's hand sink into Castor's chest, and her own close call with Wolframite. The child reached down to pick up ********* and settle the cat on her lap, hoping maybe she'd stay there. "One of the Senshi I met, one on their side said we don't belong here."
"Is it true?" She looked at the feline hoping for an answer. She trusted what was said by the others; however, only the guardian could set it stone. If what Alkaid had said was true, perhaps what Wolframite spoke about was also true. She frowned, it was horrible idea; something she didn't want as truth, to believe the senshi were stooping to the level of the negaverse and not only hurting but killing others... It was something that sickened the child to even think about.

A purr seemed to escape the manx from deep within her chest as she was picked up and set down cozily in the child's lap. No struggles, in fact, ********* almost seemed to turn into a pile of mush in her new place. She couldn't help loving such attentions.
However, despite her constant gentle purring, she kept an ear up (or rather, both), listening to the child's questions. Children definitely brought a different perspective to all of the things which most teenage senshi had. There was wonder in the child's voice, where as senshi like Iris seemed more cynical about the whole ordeal. Even after being to her asteroid homeworld of the past, Sailor Iris still seemed skeptical at times.
"Istas... tell me, where were you born? Tell me. Were you born amongst the stars? Born upon a comet? Tell me, where is your home?"

Istas scratched behind ********* ear softly as the manx purred, there was something comforting just in that. The simple rumble of a cat's purr seemed to calm the child's thoughts.
She listened when ********* asked where was she born, "Here." She answered after a little while, still looking at the stars, "My home is here in Destiny. With my parents..." She glanced back at the dark house, hoping they wouldn't wake up and look for her.
She turned back to *********, "But why would she tell me our homes were in the stars?" The child didn't know anything about the homeworlds of the past, or how the phone could take them there. No one had explained it to her, in the end even if she knew how it was questionable if Istas would try to travel there.

"You and the other senshi were born on Earth. That means you belong here."
The cat leaned up into the sensation of scratching behind her ears. Her head turned slightly to move the fingers into the best spots possible.
"However, you were probably told your home was in the stars because in the past, that was the truth. There was a time when senshi were not born on Earth. Moons, stars, comets, asteroids... these all were homes to senshi at one point or another. However, the kingdoms crumbled through war time."
Though she was talking about a relatively serious subject, her tone was still as pleasant and conversational as she usually was.
"The past is the past, and the present is the present. There are people who cannot let the past go. The senshi were born on Earth because the Earth needs them."

Istas listened to the answer giving a soft nod. It made sense, that's what she had thought but to know there were other places out there that once had been inhabited interested her. "War?"
She paused looking at *********, even though she continued to scratch, "Like the war here?" This information seemed to trouble the chibi senshi, being told that war caused their kingdoms to crumble. She couldn't help but think back on what Wolfy said.
She knew well enough by now that this was indeed a war, something she still was trying to grasp but the fact people die in them made it much less of a story book. Something the child didn't even like to admit to herself much less anyone else.

The purring eventually seemed to mellow out. It wasn't that ********* was no longer happy, but it was somewhat difficult to purr and keep up a conversation in such a manner. "No, the war then and the battles now are not one and the same."
There was a pause in her explanation as round feline rolled slightly in place so her tummy was now facing Istas' buttery eyes. Tucking her paws up against her chest, she mentioned what she knew.
"Sailor Iris told me about what happened with Captain Wolframite." ********* had to make certain she didn't call him by the nickname she had given him once upon a time. Though the reference wouldn't have been lost on the child, the fact was this was a serious conversation, no matter how pleasant she seemed to make it.
"Do you want to talk about it?"

There was an oh sound made as ********* answered her, the war then wasn't the same. Istas looked away for a moment, almost ashamed before looking back at ********* almost had me." She whispered, "He hurt Barnaby."
She wiped at her eyes feeling tears form. "He could've had me if it wasn't for Iris. What if it'd been another chibi? What if it would've been Hypnos? She still believes in fairies, I'm not sure she would've even yelled for help."
Istas was scare, that much was clear. "H-he told me the other senshi hurt him. Burned him, Killed one of his own in front of him, a-and tortured them." She was looking at the cat tears rolling down her cheeks, "That's not what we're suppose to be about, is it? I-I don't want to do this anymore if that's what we're suppose to do."

A couple tears rolled off the child's face and managed to get the manx in the stomach. Yet, the cat remained gazing to the child's face in that kind, friendly expression she always had upon her maw. What good would it do for the child if ********* looked sad? It would probably just make the waterworks go off even faster.
"I do not agree with the methods of those misguided Senshi." The way the cat spoke, it sounded like she knew all about these senshi who apparently used torture as a tactic. However, this was not quite the case. It had piqued interest in her kitty brain. It would be something she would need to investigate.
"It is not your duty to kill." Her paws stretched out towards the sky for a moment before the tucked themselves back in against her body. "Do not tell me the woulda-coulda-shouldas. Tell me Istas, what is your duty as a Sailor Senshi?"

Istas looked at the cat, "W-who are they do you know?" She asked, "It looked like he had part of his ear and neck burnt... I-I don't think they'd do that to their own kind." She said softly, wondering how the senshi became misguided like that. "He said they didn't tell him names."
She nodded softly as ********* said it wasn't her duty, however the child paused to think of the answer to the question asked. "To... protect others?" She seemed to question it, as if it was an odd thought. Something she hadn't really been able to do. "And.... bring peace?" Another question, as a senshi she'd had trouble figuring out what they stood for, there was something about it she couldn't figure out. It wasn't as simple as a math test where two plus two equaled four, Istas had found that out the hard way.

"I do not know who those senshi are," was the honest response from the manx. Her tone seemed to have an underlying meaning to it, as if she wanted to say "I will find out who these senshi are." Her whiskers fanned out slightly. It would be the only hint that she had been somewhat agitated by the words the child spoke.
"Istas, are you asking me if those are your duties, or are you telling me that those are your duties?" The whiskers seemed to relax slightly with a couple twitches of the nose.
"If you have any doubts, then you will continue to hesitate." In an encouraging tone, the manx repeated her prior question. "What is your duty as a Sailor Senshi?"

Hug-bell nodded, so ********* didn't know either? "We can find out together?" She frowned thoughtfully, "Scheelite might know... maybe."
She noticed ********* whiskers and what seemed to be agitation, the child's eyes dropped to the ground off to the side of *********, "I'm sorry.... it's just so confusing sometimes..." Everyone seemed to have a different answer, no one seemed to really understand either. She took a breath and tried again, "To protect those that can't protect themselves and bring pe-ace..." She almost held as a question again, but managed to stop herself and give a nod hoping ********* didn't catch it.
With the fight in her school she at least proved she'd been somewhat brave enough to protect others her age. She hadn't hurt the one nega bad, just enough to make him think at least, Sassolite was sort of another story but she had arrows that hurt. The fight with Wolframite had the child shaken though, even though now ********* was talking to her. "You know he tore up Barnaby pretty good..." She whispered with a soft frown and a sniffle, trying to dry her eyes again before the tears started again.

Scheelite... It was not a Negaverse agent she had ever encountered, but it was also a fact that ********* honestly didn't go out of her way to tend to them. The manx seeked senshi. Her senshi above all else.
"No apologies! You are with a friend, Istas. Apologies aren't necessary!" The feline was definitely sharp enough to note the child's near-slip into asking a question again, but she also had enough sense to her to not mention it.
In a gentle tone, she offered "I heard about that... Iris mentioned it." There were lots of things that the Senshi of Rainbows mentioned. She mentioned names, she described appearances and scenarios, and the most frequent thing the tomboy did was complain. Sailor Iris really wanted to bust that poor boy up. Even if it was against ********* wishes.
The question did not seem to fit in this place, but eventually the manx asked "Do you have your henshin pen with you, Istas?"

Istas smiled softly, "Okay," she nodded, "I'll try better though, I promise." She added rubbing ********* head again. She looked back across the yard watching the grass blow in a soft breeze.
"Think he'll be fixed if I power up? He's never been that bad torn." She had to admit there were the occasional rip or tear he got in a battle but those often seemed to fix their self.
She paused when ********* asked, she tugged out the pen nodding and holding it up. "I keep it with me." Istas replied. "Just like my phone, in case someone ever needs help." She was looking at her hand the one that was bandaged and had the stitches in; it oddly enough it held her henshin pen now, "I had to get stitches they said I was lucky a vein didn't get cut."
