She kicked her back heels up as she trotted down a mountainous path. It was bright and sunny out. Caryiln touched her nose to green leaves as she passed them. Her tail twitched happily. She passed through a sunbeam and paused to admire the sunlight reflecting off her horn onto trees. The light spots skittered about when she tossed her head.
The mare wondered what lay over the next ridge. She could remember white topped mountains, but wasn't sure that she was close enough for them. Maybe it will be a hidden lake, she thought. That would be so much fun to see what it holds. Determinedly she moved on down the path. The lake was hers and she would prance through it when she got there.

Niall was lost. There was no mistaking it.
His big, clumsy feet had gotten him turned around again, and now he was wandering in the mountains instead of the plains, which was where he thought he was supposed to be. And he was annoyed with himself. Now is the time to find a familiar with a good sense of direction, he thought, kicking a rock. But then he saw a flash of yellow light.
At first he mistook it for lightning, but it moved and didn't go away... Just flickered here and there across the mountain. Trying to find the origin of the light, he looked all over, and at last his eyes lit on a red, white, and yellow mare with brown curls.
"Hello!" he called, hoping to get her attention. Though he wasn't fond of asking, he needed directions...

Mahogany Sunset I apologize for never responding to this. Caryiln was absolutely enjoying herself. So much so that she went a couple steps before realizing that someone had called out to her. She peered around. It wasn't until she spotted some bright blue hair that she could make out the stallion. Politely she stopped and waited for him.
"Greetings sir. Is something amiss?"
