Billy came home, bags of groceries strug up his arms, and boxes of various backed goods piled on top of one another in his hands. The boxes were laid on the table, and then he got to stuffing other various groceries in the cabinet, fridge and freezer. There might have been some ice cream. There might have also been a small gash on jaw, but that was nothing, really. A small price to pay to be able to afford all this and put a dent in his energy quota. Surprisingly there was money to spare. Then again, for everything that wasn't comfort food he'd gotten the cheapest stuff.

The bread and rolls were sat on the counter, and the pastries in their nifty boxes strewn on the table. Had he gone a bit excessive when it came to the treats? Maybe. He hoped it was worth it.

Billy had left with a note that he stepping out a moment which was a good thing. If the pale-haired teenager decided to just up and leave, Ladon would have had a heart attack at seeing the apartment devoid of the rather smug strut of his boyfriend. That would then lead to worry and then a seething hatred that Billy did not have a cell phone to contact him and make sure he wasn't being captured by senshi and would have resulted in a vicious scolding when the boy DID show up. Instead, Ladon woke up late with only a few minutes of wondering where he went to before finding the note. Now only slightly worried that Billy might be out and about, Ladon tried to figure out what to do with his ample free time. Without anyone telling him to sit down and rest, he could move about and do a few things, but in the end, there was very little to do. The apartment was clean, the laundry done days before, and well, there really wasn't much to cook. Ashley's soup, while amazing, was getting rather repetative for a meal and there wasn't even any bread.

Sighing, Ladon went back to bed only because there wasn't anything else to do, but took freedom of flopping on Billy's side and smiling at the very thought that there was such a thing as Billy's side of the bed. Ugh, he was pathetic.

Not even believing he had fallen asleep, Ladon woke up to the sound of the door shutting. Groggy, he sat up and looked about. How was it even possible that he managed to fall asleep again after just waking up?! Blaming medication, he rolled out of bed and left the bedroom to see....a whole lot of empty bags....and some boxes...and was that french bread?!

Surprised, Ladon looked up as Billy was pulling out a few things. "If it's your birthday, I'm going to feel really bad." Why was there so much stuff?!!!

"No my dear, that would be sometime in October," He called over his shoulder with that devilish smile, while pouring himself a glass of...something or another. Really didn't matter what it was.

"I thought the cabinets could use some refilling. And then I figured some comfort food was in order. Come take a look for yourself." Billy gestured to the boxes of pastries on the table. He had gotten a box of just about anything that looked appealing. He waited with a smug, oh so pleased with himself, expression, waiting to see what Ladon would say.

"Then I got a loaf of french bread. I thought I'd try making some garlic bread to go with that spaghetti I made once?" What was the occasion? Oh, nothing other than Billy wanting a nice enjoyable night in with his boyfriend, far from neurotic worries and war.

Now Ladon usually scolded people who just ate snack foods. He had even tried converting Scheelite to being a veggie lover and had been rather proud of the progress he had made with the fast-food-loving-fantatic. He also tended to worry about spending too much or just buying in excess, but he had a weak spot. It could have been a mixture of growing up with a health-conscious mother, or the fact he could could but not bake, but Ladon loved baked goods. Not just bread (though he was actually wondering why, out of all the things Billy had bought, why he didn't buy MORE of what looked like a delicious loaf of french bread from what clearly must be a rather nice bakery), but pastries, cookies, bars, and whatever else that you could find displayed under a glass case.

Stepping over, Ladon glanced from tidy little packages with plastic windows that glazed to powdered treats, to the bread, and then to Billy, who was offering to make dinner again. If Ladon had looser morals and their relationship was anywhere close to being that 'ready', Billy would be getting laid right now. Instead, Ladon moved over and gave him a tight hug. "I love you soo much right now."

Self satisfied was an understatement right now. Billy returned the hug, one-armed as it were, as he was still holding his glass with his other hand.

"Oh, so any other time you only sorta love me?" Billy teased, adding in a light chuckle. "obviously you can have as much of this stuff as you like. Just try not to spoil your dinner, kay?" Billy tried a mockingly parental tone, swooping in soon after to place a light kiss on Ladon's forehead.

Billy had also bought some air-tight containers to put most of the goodies in so that they lasted longer. However, he had kinda counted on some of the stuff being eaten first. The possibilities for desert was endless. And now if anyone came over to visit they at least had some sort of something or another to offer, food-wise. That thought in mind, Billy kind of wondered what happened to Paris. Surely the boy had wondered about his friend's absence? Well, Billy couldn't exactly say he was upset about him not poking his head around, although at the same time, someone who claimed to be Ladon's friend not even calling made Billy a bit irritated.

That was neither here nor there though. Billy had done good today, and was the epitome of smug because of it.

He was about to sputter that he didn't like Billy any less any other time, but noticed the teasing. It probably would have been hypocritical of him to even say that considering he would give the teen the cold shoulder every once in a while due to reasons Ladon just created in his head, not that he ever explained why he was upset with Billy when he decided to just sleep on the futon instead of in bed or just didn't talk to him as if the pink-eyed boy had done some great disrespect to him. Whatever reason Billy bought the treats, they would afford him some time of a simply pleasant, happy Ladon, and not even the smug smile he had would ruin it. Ladon's boyfriend could puff his chest out and walk as proud as a peacock for as long as the treats lasted or until Ladon got sick of them.

Sliding into a chair by the small table which, at this point, looked far too small to hold much of the treats, breads, and rolls set on it, Ladon started to take stock of what was in front of him. "There aren't any parents here, Billy, and it's mean to bring out all this food and tell me not to spoil my supper." He beamed at a box of assorted cookies and opened it up, smiling wider at an assembly of various cookies in different adorable shapes and brightly-colored frosting and chocolate coats. He picked one that looked like a spiral flower and ate it, delighting in the taste of vanilla and dark chocolate. If he continued eating like this, his cheeks would start hurting from the pleased smile on his face. Then again, it had been a while.

"True," Billy said with a slight shrug as he picked up a cheese danish. "I suppose we can always have desert first. Though in that case I suppose I must now choose between you and this danish. Hmn, which would make the better desert?"

There was teasing gleam in those rosey eyes and sly expression. Then a bite was taken from the danish, and Billy went to rummaging through the cabinets for a sauce pan and a pot. Dinner would be an early one, but that opened up the evening a bit. Ample opportunity for a second desert.

As he got to work, Billy couldn't help but continue his loving teasing, "You know, one of these days it'll be me putting such a pleasant smile on your face." And clearly he didn't mean by simply bringing home baked goods. The way he said it made sure there was no misinterpretation. Ah, some things never changed - Billy still loved to throw such things at Ladon just to watch whatever reaction followed.

It was one of the simple joys in life, really.
PostPosted: Sat May 07, 2011 10:13 pm

Ladon was already on his second cookie, a plain vanilla one with a pastel yellow frosting that he was surprised to find was lemon flavored. Nibbling on his cookie, he looked up at Billy contemplated what to eat first, the danish or him. Mouth full, he covered his mouth to talk, knowing it wasn't polite to show anyone your food. " I'm not a desert." It was the only thing he could think up of, having no comebacks for such comments. Billy wasn't one to go too far, and went to eating his own treat as he went about pulling out a sauce bot and lid from the cabinets.

Frowning, Ladon swallowed and went back to eating his cookie, already looking at the box to see which one he would pick for the third. Distracted, he was only somewhat listening to Billy when he spoke up again, and then slowly looked up when he finished. The expression on Billy's face that Yes, Ladon. That's exactly that I mean.. "I can't believe you'd sa-" He was cut short as he started to cough. It wasn't a good idea to be eating cookies when you didn't have something to drink.

Rising up, he went to get his water from the counter, taking the glass and drinking the rest of the water. It wasn't milk, but it at least kept him from hacking a lung until he got something else more suitable to drink. How could Billy even talk about That when they had only kissed! Did he...want to do that? When? Oh geez. Maybe it was because Ladon was okay with sleeping in the same bed with him, but it wasn't like he wanted Billy to sleep on the couch when he returned home at last to recover. What if he was waiting for it!!!

Suddenly growing redder, Ladon moved to move past the boy and turned on the tap for more water. He really needed to get a Brita pitcher or something. "...don't talk about that stuff when I'm eating. I nearly choked to death." He huffed.

A warm chuckle followed, "Your reactions are what make me do it in the first place. Although death would not have been an acceptable reaction. Turning into a tomato however~"

Yes, Ladon could rest assured much of what he said was simply to get a reaction. To humor him. Billy just knew the buttons to push. He knew well by now how slow things were to be with him, and was contentedly resigned to the fact. That Billy wasn't acting on anything that come out of his mouth was proof. However, he had more to think of then just himself, and he didn't want to scare Ladon. No, he was content with this. Well, maybe not the swing between clingy and not, but all the same~

He turned about, leaning on the counter as he took another sip of water until the tickle in the back of his throat was gone. Pouting, he narrowed his eye at Billy. "So you do it to torture me. No wonder you buttered me up with sweets." Though he still wondered if there was some truth to his teasing. Now that things were calming down and he was healing, the reality that Billy was more or less living with him was clear. Not only that, but when someone saved you, rescued you from a prison, your relationship went to a completely new level without that sort of slow progress that a normal relationship would have. It was hard to question if someone loved you when they were tested by risking their life. Didn't he owe Billy something for that?

Moving past, he set his glass down and looked over at pale-pink eyes. "Can I help you cook?"

"Torturing you is fun, yes. Though perhaps not why I bought the sweets in the first place. It's just an added bonus."

Billy wasn't going to deny Ladon the chance to feel useful. Goodness knows the poor boy hadn't been allowed to do much those first weeks after everything... And it'd given Billy time to calm down and he figured if Ladon was going out at night as Wolframite, than he could more than handle doing stuff around the house.

"If you want. I'm sure you know a better way to make spaghetti sauce than warming up a jar of Ragu?"
PostPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 2:25 pm

It had done Ladon some good to not do anything during those first few weeks despite how bored and upset he was over being that dependent and useless while Billy took charge of all that needed to be done in their apartment. His trips at night also wiped him out despite how much he denied they did or blamed his grogginess on the medication he was taking. But his wounds were healing, his energy returning, and while his hand was still wrapped, his body didn't feel as shaky or aching each time he moved anymore.

Peering over at what Billy bought, he turned and headed to the cabinet. "Not much. Just a few added seasoning. Some fresh parsley does nicely too, but this is good." He wasn't about to put Billy down for not being as experienced in the kitchen when the boy continued to go out of his way to cook and take care of him. Taking a shaker of Italian herbs from the cabinet, he set that down. "It's not like I have a lot either." He shrugged, moving past to steal another cookie from the table. This one had a thin, pink icing, and he held it up to compare the color to Billy's eyes.

"So, a little better than straight from the bottle," Billy said, not paying much attention to the color comparison going on as he got the pot with the noodles going. Until those were good and under way, there wasn't much else-
The bread. Billy reached for the bagged french bread on the counter. Then looked at it almost lost.

"I terrible at cutting bread." It was a sudden realization that he hadn't thought of when the idea came to him. Now that lost gaze turned in to something of a deadpan glare.
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2011 10:59 pm

"Pretty much. I don't think I ever made my own spagetti sauce before. We always just bought something organic from the jar at the store. In the end, it's all tomatoes." That was at least one thing he didn't mind cutting corners on and not making from scratch. It was usually organic, low sodium pasta sauce, with whole wheat noodles, and bread with a low-fat spread. With Billy around, Ladon was eating far less healthy than he had before, but he missed on some of the luxuries in taste from the added sodium and fat. He could cheat a little, right?

Taking the bread, he found a serrated knife a cutting board. "Bread's easy. Just find a bread knife....well, this isn't a bread knife since it's shorter, but a serrated knife and just slice." He set his bandaged hand on the bread and used his good hand to use the knife and cut thick slices to prepare for garlic bread. Since it was just the two of them, he didn't have to cut much, and wrapped up the rest to set it aside. Looking at the fluffy slices of fresh bread with the golden crust, he saw a little love in Billy going the extra mile to get it for him. A little of that was all over the place and summed up to mean a lot to the teenager. It was still strange anyone would go out of there way for him. To care this much.

Moving over, he hugged the boy again, making up for all the times he had been pretty unbearable. Watching whatever Billy was preparing, he rested his head a bit on his arm (being too short for his shoulder). "Thank you, for all of this. For everything. You really didn't have to."

"You make cutting sound easy. Somehow, it never works for me. I guess I cut at too much of an angle." Billy shrugged. In his mind, he blamed his art. Working at an easel left you at an angle. Almost vertical, but not quite.

As Ladon cut the bread, Billy was idly stirring the noodles for a moment so they didn't stick, before popping a half stick of butter in a bowl in the microwave to melt for the bread, as well as plucking the garlic stuff from its resting spot.
Soon enough the microwave beeped, and Billy was slathering the ingredients on the bread. He smiled softly at the weight against his arm.

"I didn't have to, but I wanted to."
