Appearance
Dan has silver shoulder length hair which spikes at the ends, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He wears a pair of black jeans with a silver chain leading from the front of his waist to his right back pocket. They are tucked into a pair of charcoal and gray boots. His shirt is a long sleeve button up with a short collar propped up and with sleeves rolled up to his elbows. On the left shoulder, pectoral and along the sleeve is a white intricate decoration of a chinese dragon. Dan also wears leather fingerless gloves.

Biography
Dan was born and raised in Blackthorn City until he was ten years old. His mother was the daughter of a Bell Tower monk in Ecruteak while his father was a Dragon specialist. Being raised in this ancient village, most become enamored with dragons due to the local gym leader and the Dragon's Den which was usually off limits. Even so, Dan made it rather eventful when he often went where he shouldn't have. He especially loved to hang out with his father, his idol. They often sat outside at night, looking at the stars and talking about Pokemon. Dan learned a lot about dragons because of his dad and even adopted the silly dream of being one. When he played with the other kids, he would roar and chase them, much to their amusement. Then everything changed when his dad had chosen to leave on a journey. To make living easier, he and his mom moved to Ecruteak City to live with his grandfather. Dan's mother got a job as a waitress at the Dance Hall, which often left him to his own devices. Things were different here: the other kids didn't take well to his roaring and thought he was weird. So, he spent most of his time with either his grandfather, Kin or hanging around the Dance Hall. The man had taken the role of a father figure in the absence of his actual father, often giving him word of advice. Dan still held out hope that his dad would come back for them eventually, but as time went on, he believed that less and less.
At the age of twelve, Dan had become more abrasive and began acting out from anger. Where he once loved dragon Pokemon, just the sight of them made him think about his father and brought about more rage. The young teen tried to put that rage to good use by picking fights with the local gangs around town, one in particular that often harassed the Dance Hall. He wanted to keep his mother safe but it was futile. It was around this time that he met his other grandfather who decided to settle down in Ecruteak. His Grandfather Gin was very much different from his other grandfather; not at all kind and gentle and very serious. Dan tried to blow him off at first, until he offered to teach him how to use a sword. He may have been a blacksmith but he also knew the craft that peaked the boy's interest. Little did he know that this spartan training was to serve as a means to reigning him in and teaching him discipline. While it served his purpose, Dan then proceeded to use his newly acquired skills to protect his town from thugs and riffraff in secret. This went on for a couple years, his grandpa either turning a blind eye to his actions or was simply unaware. Because of it though, he did save Alex who was only eight at the time, from a pair of thieves. He knew the girl because her mom worked with his but they never actually became close until after this. Through his days of playing vigilante, he often wondered what he should do with his life. Sure this was something he liked doing but there wasn't much of a living to be made from it. That's what brought Dan to Team Snagem in roughly two years, thinking it was just some gang he could earn an easy living from. However, his time spent with this "gang" has put him back on the path of being a trainer and even patched his relationship with dragon pokemon after catching a Gible. Eventually, Alex even ended up joining Team Snagem for her own reasons. To this day, he continues to train and help Snagem when he can and has taken up the goal of searching for his father.
