The Weapon
Name: Kouki
Nicknames: At first, Madison calls him 'Cookie'. This is terrible.
Type of Weapon: Katana. Specifically, four katana, though Madison can only wield two at any one time. (Kouki insists that Maddie switch off which blades are in use so that everyone can have a turn.) The blades need to stay within a 100 foot radius of each other; separating them more than that is psychologically traumatic for Kouki.
Desummoned Form: Four smooth, pearlescent pink beads, each the size of a walnut; the beads have no cord connecting them, but remain in a circular 'orbit' and can be worn as a bracelet or necklace depending on the wielder's wishes. The beads will strongly resist being pulled out of 'orbit', much as powerful magnets resist being pulled apart. The 100-foot-radius restriction applies in this form as well.
Former species of weapon: Japanese Many-Headed Serpent (Like the eight-headed Yamata-no-Orochi of myth - much like kitsune tails, the number of heads a many-headed serpent has is determined by their status. Kouki had four heads in life, hence manifesting into four blades.)

Madison: Madison is a semi-reformed 'valley girl' - she spent years and years trying to fit in and be as normal as possible, whatever the cost. Becoming a Hunter, without the matrix of 'normalcy' she'd been using to guide her life, has made her realize that she's not sure who she really is under the facade. This is both exciting and terrifying.
She does, however, know this much: she is highly social, absolutely not a loner. She thrives on interaction with and attention from others. Madison is fiercely loyal to her friends, and will defend them against almost anyone else - as a Hunter, this means she prioritizes the members of her Phoenix Squad, though she naturally has a strong loyalty to the Hunters as a whole as well. On the flip side, she's highly susceptible to peer pressure, and tends to go along with the majority even if she personally disagrees with their actions. Her loyalty can easily twist into jealousy and possessiveness if she isn't careful.
Madison can be a huge b***h, though she's trying not to deploy b***h-mode unless she has a damn good reason. She can be arrogant and vain, and if someone gets on her s**t list she will hold that grudge for months. When she's frustrated or angry, she will get very sarcastic and snippy. Madison knows how to wield words as weapons and how to hit people where it hurts. In social situations, she is quite good at picking out people's weaknesses for later use.
Madison is also a bit spoiled, and may overreact to small issues like breaking a nail or being forced to go a few days without showering. She doesn't like this about herself, but old habits are hard to change.
As A-Two, Madison found that she didn't actually like the impulses of casual social cruelty and superficiality that were hardwired into her brain; she's trying to change these now, and figure out who she really is and who she wants to become. She takes a fierce pride in her desire to change and discover herself, as well as in being a Hunter.
Kouki: Though this former four-headed-serpent is manifested as four separate blades, he thinks, speaks, and acts as a single gestalt consciousness. He is a single being, and presents himself to others as such; while the heads/blades can talk to each other individually if they choose, they almost never present individual opinions or allow others to overhear their individual discussion. He also refers to himself as 'we' most of the time, rather than 'I'.
Kouki likes to appear as sage, wise, and highly dignified; he always has helpful advice whenever anyone has a problem. Unfortunately, this advice isn't always good. While Kouki does have battle experience, he isn't actually the venerable old samurai warrior he'd like to be - he's more like an older teenager pretending to be old and wise. He takes his dignity extremely seriously, and tends to get flustered or go sulk if said dignity is offended in any way.
That said, Kouki is actually a fairly good strategist, and his advice isn't always terrible. He takes his duties extremely seriously, but over time he may learn to let his more laid-back and cheerful self shine through. Kouki does genuinely care for the well-being of his wielders, and tries to drive them to succeed. If the wielder is willing, Kouki will mesh with them fairly easily; he is more interested in being part of a cohesive Hunter/Weapon team than in being standoffish.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Solo - basically, Madison got mad as hell and wasn't going to take it any more! She felt she had to subsume herself to the pursuit of being 'normal' in order to make the monsters go away (or at least not be visible to her); when the mysterious recruiter appeared, she came to realize how much she'd sacrificed to this goal... and that her plan of attaining normalcy hadn't worked at all. And, quite frankly, she wanted her 'ability' to make her special rather than a weird outcast (which she was certain she'd be if anyone discovered her 'secret').
Weapon Ability
Glorious Bite-of-the-Serpent Strike: ... Kouki likes fancy attack names. It's probably best to just call it Serpent Strike.
Normally, Madison can wield a maximum of two blades at any given time; Kouki's charged attack allows all four blades to be used simultaneously.
Serpent Strike is a ranged attack. When Kouki is charged, Madison can draw all four blades and release them into the air. Madison does not have to move from her initial position when the charged attack activates - the blades will fly outwards of their own accord, cutting at the target in perfect unison. Each blade can strike the target once, a more powerful blow than Madison's normal attacks.
Once the attack ends the blades return to their scabbards (or to Madison's hands, if she wants them there).
