 Slausale found herself on the move once more. The tickle of grass delighted her paws with each step. It seemed to her that it never lasted long enough. She glanced at the herd of zebra grazing nearby and knew why. They weren't bothering her, so she wasn't going to bother them.
She inhaled the scents of plants growing, moisture and rain. Her green eyes picked out rolling thunder clouds. Ears twitched with the peals of thunder. The washes and rivers would surely be running well soon. Slausale debated continuing or stopping now and looking for a dry place while she limped along.

 Waka was also enjoying the feel of grass under his paws. Granted he was moving at a much faster pace. He was running, enjoying the feel of the wind over his back and the soft turf under his paws. When he saw another cheetah he slowed down and matched her pace. "Hey there pretty, looks like rain huh?"

Slausale was keeping her eyes out for a spot that might keep her dry until the rains passed over. So far not much had looked promising. She nearly jumped out of her skin when another cheetah just seemed to appear out of no where beside her.
"Ummmmm.........." She stared at him. What did he want? With her luck, he probably wanted cubs. She tried to push that thought from her mind, lest he pick it up, as she attempts to give him an answer.
"Yea. I guess." She twitched her ears nervously. Why did he call her pretty?

"You going to run in it? Or were you looking for shelter? I think I'll be going to a rock overhang I know about." Waka said as he kept pace with her. "I don't really feel like getting soaked, but I don't really feel like being alone either. It sucks to be alone when it's raining. I mean rain is a good thing, but it makes my paws all soggy. Soggy paws are simply not ok. What about you?" Waka's secret to babbling so much was circular breathing.

Slausale twitched at the mention of running. She looked enviously at his four good legs. "Ah, run no. I was considering shelter." At least he would be dry. She was fairly sure there was nothing she could use for shelter for miles and miles. Of course the storm would head directly for her too. She nearly had to giggle as he talked, and talked, and talked! It had been so long since she'd last laughed.
"I don't like getting really wet either. Most of the time though I don't have a choice." She had to agree with him about the soggy paws. Definitely no fun. "I'm sorry you'll be alone when it's raining." He couldn't possibly want her around. His shelter might collapse on him!

Waka paused in confusion. Maybe she hadn't gotten the hint. Oh well he'd have to be more obvious, maybe just coming out and asking would do the trick. "Well why get wet when I know a perfect place? I mean that's just silly." He bumped her shoulder carefully. "Why don't you come with me? It's not thaaat far, even at this pace we should ... er, out stroll the storm. That way neither of us will get soggy paws or be alone. Being alone is so boring."

Slausale just stared at him with her mouth open for awhile. What?! Not getting wet was good, but staying with him sorta bad? No certainly must be bad. Then having cheetah company was good. Did that really outweight? She mulled it over in her head, to be surprised again when he bumped her. Oh dear, no one had ever done that before. She coughed slightly in embarrassment. He couldn't be thinking that. No not possibly. Her bad luck would certainly take care of it.
"Well, I mean if you don't mind.... I-i'd hate for your shelter to get a stream through it or anything." She gave him an awkward little smile. This was just too weird! Maybe it was good she didn't run into cheetahs often. It was nice not worrying about being eaten though. Slausale started to walk. "So you must know the area well."
