Longtime friend and lover, Daria is as close to Katherine as can be. When Katherine finally purchased her own ship, Daria was the first officer to hire aboard as the navigator. Daria is the closest thing to an equal that Katherine will allow, and is always treated as such.
Daria shares Katherine's fondness of rum, but when sober provides a much needed voice of reason, or at least slightly more reasonable than Katherine. Seperated when Katherine forgot that Daria was still in Divvytown when the Dementia set sail, Katherine has been desperately searching for a replacement to fill in for Daria.
Rachel and Katherine's history goes back a long way, but there has always been some distance between them due to the difference in rank. Since the departure of Daria, Katherine has been persuing the master-at-arms whenever possible.
Yet another old friend, Jemima is the first mate of Katherine's ship and occasionally her pants.
