It had been the first time he had made use of a babysitter, but he had no idea how long it would take and felt that while Áróra would be excited to meet her new sisters, she didn’t need to wait at some strange new lab with him. Also, while he didn’t have anything against the people who ran this facility, he didn’t know how wise it would be to bring a little girl with an unusual genetic makeup into a lab that experimented by mixing genes of different beasts and humanoids.
When he had received the letter, several days ago, he was a bit shocked. When he had volunteered to be a parent, he had been expecting one child, but the letter said two and that they weren’t even related. He was open to the prospect, but still it had taken him off guard.
As he approached the Mixers Lab, his mind was distracted by these thoughts and a multitude of others. In fact, he was so distracted, that when he pulled in, he proceeded to run over the curb. As soon as he pulled to a stop, he quickly jumped out, and looked about, checking to see if anyone had noticed. The coast apparently clear, he made his way to the entrance and pushed open the door.

Inside, he found a teenaged girl at the desk. She was playing with her blonde hair a bit while looking over files on the desk and smiled up at the man pleasantly as if this were normal. Then again, a teenager wearing pjs at the desk of a laboratory was also rather odd.
"Hey there, welcome to the Mystic Mixers Labs, what can I do for you?" she asked cheerily, and as she put a few pins up into her long hair, it might become obvious that it was rainbow streaked and ended in puffs of actual cloud.

“Good day,” Vilyum started, as he made his way to the desk, “I am Vilyum Cth'fht'nagl.” With a tip of his hat he added, “And in regards to what you can do for me, I recently received this letter.” Retrieving it from the left inner pocket of his olive green greatcoat, he first held it up, and then slid it onto the desk. “To my surprise,” he continued, “it informed me that I was to stop by these very facilities and pick up not one, but two children; which isn’t a problem, mind you, just the addition came as a bit of a shock. It didn’t seem to list any names or anything, at least I don’t think.” Picking the letter back up, he unfolded it and took a quick glance at its contents before replying, replying to himself actually, before she had a chance to, “Yep, no names on the letter. Is that normal?” After replacing the letter where it had previously set on the desk, he quickly queried, “Oh, so is there any paperwork on anything that needs to be filled out?” Despite having adopted kids from another establishment, he was still unfamiliar with the proper protocol; that, combined with his curb based blunder outside, made him a slight bit more long winded than normal.

Jillian looked at him strangely for a moment, "well of course there's no names - why would it list them? You haven't even picked out which children you're taking home with you yet. It just said you'd be good for two and a list of a few decent ones for you in the file so the letter just specified two would work. You get to pick out which children appeal to you and give them names - we try to not choose anything so the parents can choose something that works."

“Ahh, I see,” he replied, “just seemed that whoever sent out the letter may have had two in mind. Since the letter was so specific about the number. Well no worries.” At that he shrugged. Leaning forward, against the counter, he inquired, “So I pick them out and then pick their names? I guess they must go by nicknames or numbers or something till they get adopted then. So where is this file? I guess I should start looking through it and pick two out.”

"Oh the computer just tells us how much is a reasonable number we can give a person. It actually spit out a higher one for you, but Kayen wanted to test with a lower number first so as not to drive you insane." Jillian laughed at that phrase and smilved, "And yes. You get to name them - we just call them Kiddo or little one or some sort of nickname to do with their physical makeup till they get a home."
Jills laughed once more, "Sorry, that's not policy. Just pick a gender or two and I'll show you to ones on your list that might be good. It's better for you to see and interact with them than pick them off a list, unless you just want two random ones at which point I'm supposed to pick."

“It spit out a higher number for me, but you are just starting me with two?” he repeated back slowly. He seemed a bit taken aback, how many kids were they planning on giving him? He considered asking, but thought better of it. He would find out eventually. Whatever amount it was, it would probably be best to slowly work into it, give himself time to get used to them as they came. “Well, hopefully I can think of something to name them then.”
“Oh, well I am quite obviously at a complete loss here,” he replied, scratching his head, just under the brim of his hat. “You sure my complete ineptitude in this process isn’t lowering my number?” he joked. “Well then, let’s get this started. How about a couple of girls? Younger sisters for my oldest.”

"Naw, no one knows how to deal with it when put on the spot. If it thinks you're a competent parent, you must be to some extent. Anyway you don't care about powers or looks or anything then?" Jillian asked, cocking her head to the side.

“Well if it says so, who am I to argue?” He thought for a moment, he really didn’t have a preference for powers or appearance that he could think of; then again, he was still new to this and had another daughter to worry about. “Well,” he began, “I don’t really know what sorts of powers are options, but since I will be back and am just starting out, maybe nothing too dangerous? At least till I get my feet wet. Don’t know if that narrows the list down at all, maybe one with a tail? Áróra would love that. So then, who’s first? Which seems a silly question, since she wouldn’t have a name yet.”

Jillian smiled at his awkwardness. "Just wait here. I think I can fetch you a few little dears who will suit you then." she said before heading down a hallway to the side and returning a short while later. Now she was carrying a little purple moogle girl piggyback - mostly since the moogle girl had a couple of fluffy things riding on her shoulders. In her arms she was carrying a sleeping girl that seemed to be...a kittytaur? And she had her own pet too.
"Here you go. Tails, girls, and both with really sweet dispositions. They kind of have pets though. We've been trying to introduce that into their lives recently."

“Ok, I will be right here,” Vilyum replied as she walked away. He couldn’t help but be a bit nervous; he was about to meet kids who he would, potentially be taking home. When she came back with the two kids in tow, he couldn’t help but be slightly dumbfounded.
“Um,” he started, a bit shocked, “Is that girl on your shoulders, is she, um, part moogle? I mean, that’s from a video game right? I didn’t think there were really any moogles out there? And is that a, well a cat-taur?”
Shaking off the initial shock, he looked at little moogle girl on Jillian's shoulders. He introduced himself, “Hello, I am Vilyum. I see you have two little pets there on your shoulders.”
“Hello,” she replied with a nod. “This is Raspberry and this is Blueberry,” she added, carefully articulating each name, a cute smile spread across her face. Looking at him, right in the eyes, she asked, “Are you my daddy?”
If his mind wasn’t made up before, it was certainly made up then. “Yeah. I’ll be your daddy,” he replied to the moogle girl.
She replied, with a giggle, “Kupo!”
The little taur was still sound asleep, Vilyum leaned in a bit. “Hello?”
She woke up, somewhat, raising her head and opening her eyes. With a yawn, she replied “Hi, I’m sleepy.” Then she closed her eyes and lowered her head back down.
Looking back at Jillian, “Well, I think that will be a yes to her as well, she is adorable. Though, is she just tired now, or is she like this a lot? Any special things I should be aware of? Allergies? Dietary concerns?”

Jillian laughed, "Yes, this little one is part moogle and the other is part cheshire cat. Both can eat pretty much anything, and she's cat napping at the moment, she gets a little more energetic when she's not. She has to save up energy for her big snooze though."

“Well, that’s good, won’t have to worry about a special diet then,” Vilyum replied.
Before he could continue, the moogle girl interrupted, with a smile, “I like nuts; they are kupo!”
Laughing, he replied, “Well I am sure I have plenty at home; I think I just bought a can of cashews.”
“Kupo!” the little half moogle exclaimed.
“Well now for names, right?” he stated, mostly to himself. Thinking about it for a moment, he asked, “Hmm, what do you think of Melody?”
“Kupo,” came her reply. She liked it; it sounded musical!
“And for the little cat-taur, how…about…Olivia?”
Her only reply was a mid sleep yawn.

"Sounds good to me." The blonde girl handed over the children and went to fill out a couple of forms, holding them and a pen out for the man to sign. "That's all there is to it. We'll wait a bit before dumping a few more on you. I think."
