Ilfirin'runya - Das Tor
She'd wandered away from her mother, at the insistance of that loud voice in her head. It told her that near the funny smell was a place she belonged, and currently, Kiwa was trying to figure out why. The little black and pink cub was letting her paws carry her, stopping to chase a rat, or a butterfly, whatever she found. Her mother was a good ways away, taking care of her elder sister and baby brother, so as of right now, she thought of this as momentary freedom. What was this place? She was only on the outside, but something about the smells in the air....they made her fur tingle...
Runya had wandered a little ways out from the borders that night, in a bout of both curiosity and hope. Hope that she MIGHT find someone lingering on the borders...a male NOT taken and NOT an idiot and NOT related to her.She honestly hadn't had much in the way of 'fun', thanks to the rather LARGE number of relatives she had. And then there was the fact Iar's line also dominated the pride...and (with good reason) she wasn't allowed to have any 'fun' with them. Which sucked. The Succubus sighed, then caught a whiff of a strange scent. Aha~
She stalked towards the scent...and blinked. A cub? Now what was a cub doing around here, all by themselves? Runya got a dark grin. Well, well, well~ "Lost, little one?"
She looked up at the female that stalked towards her. Her dark fur fluffed up, and she let herself dance a few pawsteps back. Her heart was moving quickly, and she spoke, "No....My mama's a ways back..." Looking away, she wanted to figure out... "...The voice told me to come...It says this is good smells." Bright blues glanced up at the older female, "And I like it too..." Kuchanganyikiwa seemed shy and quiet, for the moment, the voice in her head hissing in pleasure.
Runya stopped and raised a brow, amusement in her dark gold eyes. "Oh? And what sort of 'voice' is this, little one?" She smiled in a sweet way...almost sickly sweet. "Does it whisper to you in the dark, tell you of things you've never heard of before?" Not a male but...oh if this little one was a demon inside, that would be better than a grown male. The pride needed fresh blood, always. And a cub adapted far better than an adult.
Her eyes widened as the other talked about a voice just like hers. Ears perking, she nodded eagerly, "Yes! The voice does that....It told me about what dead was, and then mama explained it. She said it was sad, but the voice makes tinglies." Her tail flicked back and forth eagerly, "It likes the name mama calls me too." She tipped her head, "And brother's like me too. Do you have a voice?"
Runya chuckled. Oh yes...a little demon. And she had a brother like her? Oh wonderful! Just....perfect! "I do...and so do many others in the pride I am from." This was certainly something worth her time. "The voice is called a 'demon', little one. It is what makes us better than other creatures...stronger."
Kiwa's eyes lit up, and she looked at Runya with eager blues, obviously wanting to know more, "So brother and I are special?" She asked, hopefully, "We can be better too?" She wanted to be strong and big, and be special! If this older lioness could help her understand what the voice meant...well......
The lioness nodded, a warmer smile on her muzzle now. "Oh yes, very special." The girl was even good coloring. Hopefully, her brother was the same. "What sort of colors is your brother?" Best to make sure he wasn't one of those VERY few with slave colors and a demon inside.
She blinked at the odd question, "Arato? He's black like me, with yellow marks. We're the only two dark babies mommy had. Our parents were both really light colors." She was being honest, 'I got to see daddy once." Now she was just rambling, as cubs often tended to do.
Runya nodded. Good. She didn't have to worry than. She just needed to figure out how best to snag the cubs from their mother. "Colors are very important to those with demons. And some colors, very pale ones, are bad when they're the main color on a creature's pelt." That two such dark cubs came from light parents...oh yes. They were destined for demonhood. "Would you want to come with me, live with others like you?"
This was where the cub seemed to hesitate. Her gaze went down, and she began to muse aloud, "The voice...it wants to...It calls itself Byrdi, and says that we should go....I kind of really do want to...but wouldn't that make mommy sad? Would I get to see mommy again?" Her mother WAS important to her, but the voice said she was meant to be here...Told her of the things she could do, and how much FUN it would be...
Runya blinked, then frowned. "First...don't ever tell that name to anyone else, save in one instance, not unless you trust them very much. Names are power, little one...and it could hurt you to give that power to another." She sighed. "And...perhaps someday." She smiled. "Perhaps, one day, you could even make her your personal Na'artue, so she'd never leave you and you'd never leave her."
Blinking, she nodded, shivering as the idea that someone could hurt her by using her name. Kiwa considered it all, lowering her head, and looking down at her paws, "Okay....I wanna come with you. And I can get Ara too, if you want." She said, looking at Runya with those eager eyes, "Ara can come too, right?"
Oh this was perfect! And she had to do so little...a perfect job well done! "Of course Ara can come, little one." She nudged the little one. "I'll wait right here for you. And you can call me Runya, little one."
Kiwa smiled brightly, nodding eagerly. Tonight. Tonight she'd get her brother. After all. Mama slept during the day, and it meant she could move so easily, "Okay! I'm Kuchanganyikiwa! Mama calls me Kiwa!" She leaned forwards and nuzzled Runya, before turning, purring, "I'll get Ara and wait til mommy's asleep! Then we'll come so we can see others just as special as we are!"
Runya nodded. "Alright, little Kiwa. Now be on your way." She gave the little one an ALMOST motherly smile. "You and your brother will love your new home."
