Brilliant orange eyes moved left and right before sealing themselves in darkness, soon after caressed by four fingertips. A gentle breeze passed every now and then, toying with the strands of hair that had fallen from her messy bun, but the sun was shining brightly from above and what should have been a cool mid-afternoon outing was quickly turning sour--and smelling a bit sour at that, as the ghoul whose eyes fluttered open now, lifted her arm above her head for a whiff. Oh yeah, ripe. Even still, a smile grew on her lips. Who really cared about that right now?
Natalia was done with all the drama. Spent even. One could only fret for so long, and this ghoul felt she was at the peak, ready to crest and dive right back into being the same old, pervert lemur ghoul on campus. And by setting herself down on a bench, stretched out with homework and miscellaneous literature scattered around her--it seemed she still had some ways to go. But this was a start; a wonderful, weight-lifting start that put the lemur at ease. Her gaze fell to her studies then, eyeing them critically as the butt of a pencil was slipped between her canines and gnawed on for a moment. "Hrmm..." She thrummed, using her free hand to flip the page of her book forward, and then back before shutting it all together with a sigh.
It was definitely nice to get away. A much needed break from the social norm, in some ways for the ghoul. Gazing off in the distance, the tail attached to Natalia slumped to the side and off the bench, propped up on a stack of books just below. The monster was almost certain no one would come looking for her, and she was damn sure no one would come meandering through the area any time soon.
It was the weekend after all...

Pleased at the idea of no classes for two whole days had the doll nearly bounding through the school campus with excitement. Sure, she should be back in her dorm, hitting the books like a model student---especially when she had missed out on classes do to recovery needed after the most recent school trip.. But, today she had other plans, none which required a book of any sort. She questioned herself if she should go in search of Bul to hang with, but decided against it for the time being. The trip seemed to have made quite an impact on not only herself, but him and the rest of the students as well.
Setting a course for the maul, she stopped when spotting a familiar ghoul with an oh-so lovely tail. Smile tugging at the corners of her lips, she quietly motioned towards the ghoul, careful as to not give away her position or disturb her from what ever it was she was doing--school work? On a weekend? Surely she could leave it till Spookday at least! What a boring way to spend a Spiderday! Stopping just behind the bench where she sat, Mei reached for the tail hanging off of the bench, fingers itching to touch her soft fur and hug it close again. She loved this tail! Taking it into her grasp, she lifted it to her face, rubbing her cheek against it lightly. "Hee~ Still soft~" She grinned with delight before turning her attention to it's owner. "Hi Natalia."

Days like these, the ghoul wished she had better hearing, being so submersed in one piece of literature leaving her vulnerable to anything going on around her. It was certainly a lucky thing for Natalia, having not attended the fieldtrip and all...she was less likely to throw a fist backward instead of just a stunned glance.
And boy was she BRIMMING with surprise. But as her eyes met with the culprit, barely visible while tucked in between the fur of her tail, Natalia's expression softened; making room for a cool grin. This wasn't exactly what she was looking for today, her mind still drifting back to the studies that needed tending to or the random books that begged to be read--but as her lips parted and the words "Hey Mei!" slipped so effortlessly, and her heart raced with desire and excitement...this would be exactly what she would need.
Lifting off the bench and righting herself into a seated position pulled her tail (and the ghoul attached to it) closer. Ahh, it had been a while since she saw the doll, Natalia's sweeping gaze working along the contours that bounced and swayed with the other ghouls movements. It was nice to see a beautiful face again...especially once she felt quite fond of, in more than just the old sexual way.
She didn't want to think about what might have gone on with Mei within the past couple of weeks. If it could be prevented, all the better; the monster, after all, didn't want to stir up any more arguments. Instead, her legs crossed and one of her arms stretched out on the bench's back, while the other hand pat the space beside her. Natalia didn't know what question to ask first...so she just asked them all. "Long time no see! How long has it been?! What have you been up to? What are you doing all the way out here?"

Not even realizing she had startled the were-lemur, she grinned at the mention of her name. Oh good! She did remember her! It had been a while since they had last seen or talked with one another..the last time being the Scarentine dance. Even then, they didn't really have the chance to talk.
Pulled after the tail, she kept her hold on it stopping to take a seat beside Natalia when she gestured for her to sit. "It has, hasn't? Weeks.. I think..? My memory is still a little foggy." She admitted, rubbing the back of her head, embarrassed. How could she forgot the date? How long were they on that island? s**t.. "Uhh.. Where do you want me to start exactly?" After the dance? During the trip? Or after the trip? Hadn't Natalia gone with them on that trip? "Didn't you go to the island as well, Nat?"
"Hm?" What was she doing all the way out--"Oh! Uh, I was on my way to the maul when I spotted you sitting here." To be honest, Natalia didn't seem.. as cheerful today.. Had something happened? "You okay?" There was no telling what had happened since their last encounter. "Sorry, I meant to phone you after the dance, but things got a little hectic. How's Whisper? I haven't seen her at all either."

At first, Natalia was all smiles! And even after Mei mentioned the 'trip', the ghoul seemed to hold herself up fairly well, head bobbing some in a nod--to which question, not even the lemur monster knew. This was because on the inside she trembled, and the twitch of her brow might have hinted to the discomfort she almost instantly felt. Ever since that trip the students had been acting differently, all of them.
Even Renaissance.
Natalia had plenty of time to put two and two together, to see the light and understand that whatever went on out at sea was traumatizing enough to leave everyone shaken. But what HAD happened? She had to admit, curiosity built up over the time she had spent sulking, and now that Mei seemed to be offering a bit of insight...the lemur...was tempted.
Easing her lips to part gave way to tremors in her hands and the shakes in her knee. "Yeah I'm fine. Just a little preoccupied is all. Whisper is fine, I think. I'm going to see her tonight actually, so if I catch you after that, I can let you know? Don't worry about the calling darling, I assume everyone has had their hands a little tied up." She didn't know how to go about asking the hard questions, even if Mei looked to be unscathed.
"But hey, why don't you just tell me everything you can, sweetie. I've been out of the loop lately!" There. Nice and easy. Widening her orange eyes, heart fluttering behind skin, bone, and the clothes she wore, Natalia prepared herself for whatever might slip from the young, porcelain ghouls lips.

She said she was fine, but..the impression she got differed from what she said, and the small tremors in her hands and knees were enough to make her think otherwise. Mei wanted to know what had happened, but..it wasn't her place to pry. Nodding as she confirmed Whisper's well being, she managed a small smile as she offered an update on Whisper after he meeting with her. Thankfully she wasn't upset with her for not calling, though still..she couldn't shake the guilt of it that easily. "Yeah.. You could say that.."
"Everything?" She asked, almost to confirm with her. "Um, well.. Not much happened after the whole Scarentine thing, at least not until the trip." She could have sworn she had seen Natalia's name on the boat listings. Did she not make it in time? "Well..we ended up taking boats to an island of some sort, but..something happened to the boats before we reached the island, I really can't remember what. All I remember is that I woke on the island, stranded with the others, and the teachers and ToT's had gone missing. That part wasn't so bad. Just frustrating."
Leaning against the back of the bench, she attempted to recall the events in order. "There was a fog coating the entire island, which made it really difficult to see where it was we were going, but still students went on anyways. So, I followed after them as well." She really wished she hadn't.. It would had saved her the crap she had gone through. "There was some hooded person there, saying the weirdest things, but they obviously wanted us all dead. So, we all just kind of attacked---not that it did any good. They just grabbed one of the other students and..vanished."
s**t.. The other student.. Who was it again? "I..I can't remember who it was, and I never did find out what happened. But after that, everyone just seemed to part ways, taking separate trails on the island. I ended up taking a trail to an abandoned town, and was lucky enough to find Bul there--Uh, the guy I went to the dance with." She wasn't entirely sure that the two had been introduced, but she knew she had at least seen him at the dance with her. "There were a few other students there as well, and we were all going to split up and search the town, but as soon as I left the group, another hooded figure attacked." She paused, almost waiting for her approval to continue.

Natalia was gravely silent, putting situations together in her head, using every last ounce of brain power to produce images--to be there, with Mei. There weren't a lot of details to work with, the demon having a hard time recollecting the event perfectly, but what Mei could remember was enough to send a shiver down the pale, rigid spine of a fascinated monster. Glistening eyes did not leave those of Mei's, however many times the doll rolled them about and would look off in the distance; Natalia felt the longer she stared, the better her chances of catching glimpses of the tale unfolding to her.
Ren kept popping into her head, that golden hair of his turning every which way in the confusion of what had happened. Fights, towns--this all sounded too familiar, and as she sat there with Mei, ears twitching attentively, the Christmas trip seemed to flash across her sights as well.
Amityville ought to fire the fieldtrip coordinators.
"Vanished?...Bul? Oh that boil at the dance...Wh—you know what don't worry about the names." Natalia interrupted briefly, speaking low so as not to disrupt the story all that much. Then, when the other ghoul stopped, Natalia noticed how close she had gotten to the doll and how tense her body had become. Reclining back against the bench just as Mei had, the were lemur prompted her friend to continue.
"And then?!"

Shrugging as Natalia spoke, she really wasn't sure what else to say about the whole vanishing scene. She wasn't even positive she could remember what it was they were screaming about before vanishing. Her mind was as foggy as that damned island.
"Anyways.. Yeah, I ended up in a fight with this hooded freak who spared no chance to mock me." Her teeth nearly gritted as she spoke, still a little sore over the matter. "Lets just say, I barely made it out of that fight. After that, Bul and I and the others split into groups, and set out on the search we planned, and ended up checking some house out." Frowning to herself, she deemed it best to just leave out the worst of that part out of this little recap. "Another hooded figure must have been waiting in there or something, because they struck at Bul next. He managed to fend them off as well, but he came out worse than I did.."
"Hey, do you remember those strange pendants that students had been finding from time to time?" She asked, curious if she knew what she was referring to. "Well, these guys had the exact ones, I actually have one back in my dorm somewhere." Shaking her head, she pondered on ditching the damn thing entirely.
"Anyways...on top of everything, everyone was hallucinating because of the fog, and hearing voices. Even me. As soon as we made inside an abandoned school--that only appeared sometime after--all the hallucinations seemed to stop." Lifting her feet onto the bench, she hugged her legs close, resting her chin upon her knees. "All we could do from there on was search the school, and find clues on what to do. Then another of the hooded figures appeared, stuck a lot of us down, dealt a good blow to my leg--which is why I wasn't around for so long after the trip---and then they left before finishing the job." Letting out another sigh, she shook her head and continued.
"I don't know what happened, but the whole building was coming down on top of us, and a large chasm split the ground in two, cutting off our exit. The only way to get to the exit was to make it across the chasm. Of course.. With my busted leg.. I didn't make it and fell. After that, I don't remember anything. Supposedly myself and other students had died, but we woke up back here at the school." She recalled that weird out of body experience, and seeing the island with all the children, but she had no idea what to make of it. "Apparently the teachers had come back to haul are asses out of there, and they brought us back here." Her eyes shifted to Natalia again, offering a weak smile. "That's basically the gist of it. Sorry, I'm really not good at relaying things."

Natalia wanted to stop the story oh so many times, riddled with questions that begged for answers! Wait, hooded figures? Did you ever see their faces?! Schools? Chasms?? You DIED?!--however, despite her curiosity, the ghoul knew that there would be no simple way for her friend to answer. Mei looked to be withering right before her eyes, shriveling up on the bench as the story progressed, finally finishing with a smile that tugged at Natalia's heart strings. Such a beautiful, now sullen face; apologizing for something that did not require an apology. Mei had her strength, but surely the trip had taken its toll.
She wasn't sure what she wanted to say after the doll finished, her bottom lip yielding beneath sharp canines. The gist of it. Natalia pondered the phrase, noting how common the demons use of it was. She was trying to get past it all, that was for certain.
Still, all of this was new to Natalia! She was dying to know more, and in some ways she felt Mei was cheating both of them by revealing only bits and pieces. But, again, she had to consider Mei's feelings as well as her own...no, above her own! She had to at least try to understand all of this, to know that things were much more intense while they were happening, more so than they were after the fact, sitting on a bench, hearing them from the lips of the victim. The blue-haired student sighed heavily and rolled her eyes back before sealing them completely. Her lips broke free of their toothy hold, hands folding on her lap. "Mei...oh Mei...wow. Who would have thought a simple trip would lead to all of that."
A moment passed where the lemur simply sat quiet. A smile did not sear across her face, no lifted brows or judgmental gestures. Natalia just sat and soaked, before glancing over to her demon companion. "All this time I have only been thinking of myself...I am such a fool." Her hands could not keep to themselves, as both reached out to grab at Mei's hiked feet.
"Can I ask you a question, trusting that it will stay between you and me?

Letting out a small laugh in response, she gave another shake of her head at her words. "I can tell you, none of us expected anything like that. The teachers didn't tell us Jack about what was going down on that island. There's nothing simple about this school. That's for sure." She added, followed by a small sigh. "Well, I guess I should be grateful that I'm still alive, and more aware of everything now."
"Hmm? What do you mean? Your not a fool, Nat." With that, she gave a pat on the were-lemur's shoulder, unsure of why she would say such things. Maybe it was something to do with why she appeared to be upset? Though, she shouldn't be so hard on herself like that, no matter what the reason. "Eh?" A question between only her and Natalia? "Yeah, of course." As much as a brat as Mei could be at times, when she was to keep a secret, she would definitely keep it.
"What is it you want to ask me?"

The monster nodded her head while Mei spoke, agreeing with everything said and even offering a short chuckle...monkey see monkey do style. But her mind was whirling with the question that played at the tip of her tongue. Natalia felt confident that Mei wouldn't spill any beans, but even if the demon ghoul happened to let things slip...the lemur would not mind. She sort of wanted this information to leak through Amityville, she wanted Ren to hear that his grudge was beyond the werelemur...that their fight should be dropped...
That they should be okay to make-out again. Or...well hug. Whatever.
Biting down on her lower lip again, the ghoul spoke through the gesture quickly. "Do you know Renaissance? The gryphon monster here at Amityville? He has blonde hair, freckles? I was just wondering if you...uh...well, if you saw him on the trip? He's been acting strange, and I totally get it now but...I don't know...Did everyone like--'die', or was it just some of you guys?" She seemed rushed, fiddling with her thumbs as they pulled back and into her lap again.

"Renaissance? Err, vaguely. We've maybe passed by each other in the halls, and we met briefly when you introduced us at the dance." She continued to listen, wondering what was going through her mind as she spoke. "Mmm..I saw his name on the list, but I never did see him during the trip honestly. Most of the students kind of..just parted their own ways when they reached the island. I think he took a different route then I did."
She was surprised she never spotted the gryphon boil honestly..you think they would have at least bumped into each other once on the beach? Then again, there was quite the amount of students there--some she had no idea as to who or what they were.
"From what I heard...most of us died. There was only a handful of survivors on this trip, and that was only because the teachers had intervened. I'm not even sure how most died. From what I heard, some of them ended up dying in gruesome ways. I guess I was lucky to just take a fall." Pausing for a moment, she looked back to the were-lemur. "Is this why your depressed? I mean, every time I see you, your always full of energy. But.. It looks like you just lost a friend or something.."

"Oh, that's right!" Natalia murmured, glancing off to the side as Mei continued. It seemed to play out just as the monster thought it would, the demon doll having not seen the gryphon, their paths never crossing, their deaths--oh dear. Suddenly it hit her, every piece to this puzzle was placed in its appropriate slot, leaving her not a moment to overcome the confusion that stirred from such a realization as this. Everyone had died--no one seemed to be an exception to that rule, and...although Mei seemed fine with the turn-out now, she must have been just as touchy when the events were still fresh in her mind.
Just as Renaissance was.
Some survivors did not give the ghoul much hope. Not when she recalled the slap to her face, or the way he ordered her out of his room--potentially out of his life, as things had been playing out. Oh, what a fool she had been...Only when Mei looked upon her with those crimson eyes, addressing Natalia directly, did the monster feel the moisture on her face. Tears left spidering paths on her cheeks, which were no longer hiked in a playful smile. She could not think clearly let alone act properly in this moment, succumbing to the pressure of losing her best of friends---swimming in the guilt that flooded her head, knowing that she had done wrong.
Her own eyes were glowing now, the black that surrounded a fire-colored center swallowing the light, making everything else seem so much brighter to the werelemur, who could finally take no more of it. Catching her face within both palms and sobbing into them, Natalia tried to speak through the hiccups, she tried to compose herself but simply could not muster enough strength. "Mei I lost him! I lost him..."
She wasn't sure what hurt her more now; having done away with her friend due to her own pig-headedness, or the fact that for the second time ever she found herself wailing to an outsider; exposing her emotions like a pup rolling on its back, leaving its soft pink stomach open for the kill.

She didn't think about it much before, but it was nice to actually share what had happened on the island with someone else, rather than just keep it bottled up inside. Most of the students would just go quite at the word of it. It was amazing to see how much the island trip had effected everyone..and sad.
Watching the lemur, she was surprised to see something in her eyes? Water? How? OH! Tears! She was crying? Why? Oh Jack, she was not good at dealing with tears. Unsure of what to do, the doll moved to put her arms around the ghoul, in hopes of calming her some. "What? Who? Who did you lose? I'm sure we can find him. We can retrace your steps, and.." Obviously the doll was completely to what she had meant by 'lost' him. Toys were such confusing things at times..
"What happened Natalia?"
