Pelagia stared into the darkening evening sky, and pondered her fate. She had no idea what she needed to do in life, only to survive and live until... well, then again, she had no real meaning for living either. Her instincts screamed at her for the need to live, regardless of meaning, so she simply followed instincts. By no means was she a feral mare, but she wasn't a gentle, skittish mare, either. No, she was tougher than her scales, yet... she winced at the memory of her scar, where she was blind in one eye.
She sighed to herself, giving in to the feelings of loneliness, such as she was used to. At least now that she was by herself, she wouldn't have to worry about someone either trying to kill her or drive her crazy with... well, for example, her encounter with that stallion from before. She couldn't recall his name now, but then, it had seemed such a brief encounter to her.

Ooooh, he made her so mad! Words could not describe the fury that the kalona mare was expressing at this precise moment in time. Fresh from a dispute with her now former beau (or so she would assume), she hadn't yet regathered her composure and recovered her dignity. She was a proud sort and often the life of the party, but when someone informed you that he was only indulging you as one would a child...well, suffice to say this was not a very well received remark. That being said, Azelle was at least satified to know exactly where she stood now.
She was a loose mare, that was how he'd seen her.
It had been with wounded pride that she had left the dispute. Now the mare was proceeding towards more pleasant climes, ideally a place with company and people who wouldn't indulge her. Hell, if anyone would be indulging anyone it would be her! Nevertheless it was unfortunate that she hadn't managed to shake her anger by the time she came in to Pelagia's immediate vicinity. Still tense and thoroughly disgruntled she didn't come across as her usual approachable self at all - something she fully intended to change within the next few minutes.
She eventually came to a halt by the river, examined her reflection briefly and then sucked in a deep breath. Without warning or due consideration for the creatures around her she then released a rather ear crippling scream of exasperation. It proved to be exactly what she needed and her form soon deflated as she grew quiet, her wings gave a rustle and then she released a deep sigh.
Did she feel better?
Not completely but it was certainly a start.
Alas, if Pelagia had desired a moment of solitude, peace and quiet then she had certainly picked the wrong location!
