The night was warm and balmy, and Mkali’s spirits were unusually high as she trudged back towards the makeshift den she and her sister shared. The sisters were both still traveling, on their way to the pride they had heard of and both wished to join, but they’d been a bit… sidetracked, recently. In particular, Adanna had been. She told Mkali she’d been tricked by a certain male into getting pregnant. Mkali, believing her sister had been wronged by this horrible brute, attacked him, and now that she believed he was dead, was dragging his bruised, bleeding and very damaged body back to the den to show her sister that she’d been avenged. Mkali hadn’t bothered to take a close look at the mess she’d made of Arosmth. If she had, she may have noticed that his heart was still beating… and he was breathing.
As she approached the small den, Mkali dropped the male lion’s body that she’d been dragging by the scruff of the neck. Licking her mouth and tasting his blood still on her lips, she grinned and called, “Adanna! I’ve brought you a little… present. Come and see.”

In her mind, she had been tricked. She wouldnt have wanted cubs intentionally! No not yet. She was far too young. She knew daddy would be so heartbroken to know if she was.. She grumbled, kicking the earth with a paw, even if it was only stone her paw connected with. She cried out, and brought her paw to her chest, and sighed. Though once that voice hit her ears, she perked, dropped her paw back to the earth, and trotted to the outside of the den.
"Sister!" She said excitedly, running to her, and about to nuzzle her until she realized who she was dragging. She gasped, went wide eyed, and kicked at the body.
"What are you doing with this? He should be eaten.. Father would enjoy it." She said with a glare at the 'body' of the 'dead' male.

He was unaware for the most part that he was being dragged someplace. Aside from the few small bumps that smacked him into continuousness- he was blissfully unaware that he was being drug into a situation his father couldn't save him from. Only the kick landed from the white beauty stirred him enough to clench one of his paws and outstretch the claws. Nothing more then reflexes that he had no control over. If he'd been aware he did it he would have cursed himself for the stupidity. Or not, he really wasn't too bright when brains WERE needed.

“I searched him out after you told me what happened. And I killed him.” Mkali’s voice was usually a quiet monotone, but now it had the distinct note of pride in it. Things had gone so well, even her cuts and bruises were worth it. To Mkali, eating the lion’s body didn’t sound appetizing, but she’d do it if her sister thought it was a good idea. It was her vengeance, after all, and Mkali was just glad to have helped.
“Now at least you don’t have to worry about him finding you again.” Mkali was looking at her sister as she spoke, when she thought she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. She glanced quickly at the body, but it seemed still to her… had she imaged it? Not wanting to alarm Adanna, Mkali said nothing about it, redirecting her attention to her white sister again.

Adanna too, thought she caught the movement of a paw. She stared at him for a moment, raising a brow and cocking her head. She looked back at her sister, obviously confused. She shook her head, as if shaking the idea out of it and then nodded. She was happy for her sister, she loved that she would risk her own life to kill such a large lion. She smiled at her, walking to her to headbutt her affectionately. With a purr, she licked her sister cheek, and rubbed against her before pulling away to look at the body.
"You are too good to me sister. Im lucky to have you. The wretch deserved what he got." She grumbled. She didnt like eating lions either, and had obviously not really inherited the trait from her father. With one more glance to the body she sneered.
"So what.. do we do with it?" She asked.

Another few minutes had passed healing his body so he could now hear the pitter patter of whispers dancing in his ears. Was it father? No father for sure had a deep rumbly voice- this was by far female...and more then one? He could have been back at the pride. His father always had a knack for saving his a**; and that female for sure gave him an asswhopping for something that was not HIS fault. The female who's name he still didn't know; had OFFERED herself to him for the night. What was he supposed to do? Say no? Dad would have been most furious with him; he needed to pass on his seed somehow. And frankly Roth didn't have any faith in Areosmth to begin with.
"Swwwweeeemooooooessss..." He groaned out low as he assumed it was one of the nurses in the pack taking care of him. He would have done anything to seen his companion now.

Mkali had been about to reply to her sister when she heard the ‘body’ utter a name. She froze, and her bright blue eyes flicked towards the prone form of the male lion. The expression of Mkali’s face was nothing but horrified. For a moment she just stood there, unable to do anything, even speak. Did that corpse just say something??? In her mind, these thoughts echoed wildly. She’d made a huge mistake, she had been too confident hat she had killed the male. And what was worse, she’d brought him right back to her sister…
Now she glanced at Adanna, half apologetic and half horrified. What would her sister think?!
“Adanna… I-I think it… I thought he was dead!” Mkali had probably never uttered such passionate words in her entire life. She had no idea what to do, and all she could do now was hope her sister wasn’t too upset with her… Maybe she would have a solution?

Adanna shrieked, kicking the body again in reflex, before jolting behind her sister. She had never seen a zombie, but she was assuming they were rather like this. She looked at her sister in horror, and then back at what she had assumed to be a dead body. Oi vey, what was going on??
"I-I-Is...is he dead?.. Why did he move?" She asked, her voice high pitched almost like a squeak. She narrowed her eyes, walking over to it again and kicking him once more.
"You! Stop feigning, I demand to know if you're dead or not.."

He was so badly dazed that he didn't understand a single word either of them were saying to him. He just gurgled out blood from the earlier fight and moaned lowly once again. His limbs then gave another twitch as he was kicked again. Why on earth was he getting kicked? He heaved out another pool-full of blood then parted his eyes just enough to see a white and black blob racing about in front of him.
He must have hit his head harder then he thought. He half blinked again but his eyesight still hadn't given way to him. Confused he just gasped out another low call for his companion. He needed to know what was going on, for Swemoes was his brains- and without him he was little more then a husk of muscles firing on impulse.

Mkali watched her sister’s surprise and was startled by it… but perhaps a little less than Adanna. But there was no mistaking the fact that Mkali had no idea what was going on and was extremely worried about it. When Adanna kicked the body and it groaned again, Mkali’s fur bristled and stood on end.
“D-Did he come back to life…?” She wondered aloud, as if hoping that Adanna could answer that for her. She had given Arosmth such a through beating that the fact that she must not have killed him wasn’t even the first answer that settled in her brain.
With a sudden thought Mkali’s head swung up, scanning the horizon on all sides around her. Swemoes, he had said. Hadn’t there been a wild dog with him when she first came upon this lion? She hadn’t remembered the name of it, but maybe he was calling for it? Or was it possible something more sinister was going on… like he was coming back from the dead to find his lost friend?!
Mkali bristled even more and shivered. This was just too creepy for her! “Maybe we should run?” She suggested, at a loss, to her sister. The thought of demonic wild dogs returning to their dead friends and lions rising from the dead was overwhelming her mind now!
