  It was another warm and pleasant day in the Kawani lands. Ixkin was still new to these lands and had met few soquili, but all seemed normal. She had heard of other types that live and breathe in water and some that are like demons, shadows of the night. She'd yet to encounter any and she hoped she wouldn't have too, but she remained prepared.
Ikin roamed around a small open forest just exploring as the sun smiled upon her back. She eventually found a large lake in a wide open area within the forest. The sun reflected the water and put her at ease. Having grown tired from wondering she drank from the cool lake and lay by the waters edge letting the sun lull her into a peaceful nap. She dreamed of family and herd long lost, she dreamed of the happiest days before darkness fell.

Gunkan was splashing around beneath the waves in a lazy way. Nori was away, and he was kind of energetically burning of his steam until he got back. He was a little bored as his hair splayed out in the water. He didn't like it when Nori was away.
Nori's family didn't approve of him, so those visits were better off when Nori went alone. But it still hurt, despite Gunkan acting like it didn't. He wasn't good enough for Nori, and he knew that. So he would spend his day sulking in the water.
Surfacing, he splashed out his hair and shook out the water. The sunlight was bouncing off the water back into his eyes and for a moment the brilliant day reflected into his eyes.

Ixkin's sleep was peaceful at first, but then the horrors of her past start started to surface from the back of her mind and she awoke with a start. She huffed slightly as a few lone drops of sweat and tears streamed down her face. She stood up and splashed some water on her face to clear away the tears.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she finally calmed, but it was then she noticed some ripples in the water from under neath. She had disturbed the water for a moment, but the movement that remained could not have been from her. She inched closer to the edge of the water again and tried to see what was beyond the surface, it to have been just a fish right?
As she studied the water she saw movement and it was definitely not a fish...not like one she'd ever seen. Whatever it was it was large, but it did not frighten her, it intrigued her curious side and as such she stuck her head underneath the water trying to see what this being was....

As he began to surface, he nearly collided heads with someone else. Surprised, he pulled back under the water and looked up into wide lilac eyes. Someone was staring at him, for some reason. A golden head, a lock of hair that was hanging beneath the water. For a moment, he just stared beneath the water struggling with keeping up his macho facade and asking how she made her hair so silky.
For another moment or so, he just looked at her and continued to hesitate. Then surfacing, a foot or so away, he waited for her to rise. He wanted to be macho, tell her how gorgeous she was, and how he was intrigued by her beauty....and small talk, like he should. But the first thing out of his mouth was, "How do you make your hair so shiny?"

Ixkin was surprised when a head almost came crashing into hers under the water, but she didn't jump. She merely smiled at the creature with an inner laugh as it seemed she startled it more. It soon disappeared but only to surface only a few feet away.
Lifting her head from the water she looked to the creature that was in the shadows of the water moments before. It wasn't an it, it looked to be a he...a male stallion? Not yet seeing his body, she just assumed he was a really good swimmer and could hold his breath really long......
When he spoke she walked closer to where he was and waded in the shallow water. "My....my hair? Umm....I wash it with a mixture of berry juice and natural oils, I guess that makes it shiny. But you, how are you able to hold your breath so long?"

For a moment longer, Gunkan kept staring at her hari. That was a good formula, it seemed to do the trick, he's have to tell Nori about it later for sure. Blinking, he thought back on her question. "I'm...you know...a kelpie." And in a rush before she could say anything or react, "Don'tworryI'mnice!"
Others always got this idea that kelpies were mean or evil. He wasn't and he hated being considered that. It was offensive, and hurtful. And though he dind't like to admit it, he hated having his feelings hurt.

Ixkin smiled, but then cocked her head curiously and looked at what she could see of him in the water. "A Kelpie? What's a Kelpie, I've never heard of that before...." She smiled again and flapped her many wings before folding them back on her back again.
She then realized what the stallion had said before. She had barely caught it for the haste in which he took in making it clear, but it made her even curiouser about this blue male. "Wait....why did you have to let me know you are nice? Why wouldn't I think you nice?"

Gunkan sighed, "I'm one of water and land. Sometimes, others think...we're mean and mischievous. But I'm not like that. I'm good, I swear. I don't like to lose friends, let alone if it's not my fault."
He ducked his head slightly and shylyl.

Ixy crouched down to the water still not quite understanding why someone could jump to such a conclusion so quickly. Even if there was a good reason behind it for a handful, but for everyone to do so, it just wasn't right. She smiled and inched closer to the water. "Don't worry, I know better then to judge one on mere rumors and looks alone. It's not fair." She touched her noise to the water causing light ripples before lifting her back up again with a bright smile. "My name is Ixkin(eesh-keen)!"

Gunkan smiled at her. "I'm Gunkan. It's nice that some still feel that way at least." He titled his head, "Your wings are lovely. What..are you?" He blushed, "Sorry, it was not nice to ask."

She smiled when he gave his name in return and her wings flapped happily before settling at her sides. "It's not rude to ask...or its not that its not nice to ask..I asked you the same thing after all...I apologize for my rudeness. Im called an Angeni. I think that's the term used in these lands" She cocked her head side-ways thinking on the term. Angeni, sounded right, but she'd met so few soquili in these lands and in her home lands they held a different name for their kind.... O'well, she smiled again with a nod of her head deciding that was indeed the term used in these lands. "Ya, Im an Angeni"

"What's that? Do you you all have those wings? That pretty hair?" He gently moved himself out of the water and shook the water off gently. "I'm glad. I've never met anyone like you."

What was an Angeni? That was a dozy of a question, how could one answer such a question, where she came from their were many storied about their ancestry, but their was one commonality all the stories shared. "Umm...well Im not really sure, but like any species our origins date hundreds of years. In my home land there were many stories told about our history, but the most famous ones shared one thing in common. They spoke of our great Ancestors that descended from the clouds. They described them much like how we see gods today. The stories were very majestic. "
She smiled and giggled not really knowing what else to see about Angeni, they were what they were after all, nothing more and nothing less. "We do all have the multiple wings yes as for our hair....the color and everything varies depending on our family lineage. My mother had black hair and father white. I was told my blonde hair comes from Great-grandmother. What about you? Tell me about your kind, your family. I've never met anyone like you before either."

Gunkan approached her closer as he listened to her intently tell about the Angeni. He couldn't keep the amazement from his voice, "Incredible, simply incredible. How high can you fly? How wonderful it must feel to be so gifted!"
He tilted his head, tossing his damp hair "Well. My parents are both Kelpies like me. We are said to be a fickle kind--prone to trickery and deceit. But I never experienced that at home, I've experienced more of it since leaving." He paused delicately, "I have no real memories of my parents other than leaving me. They were vain as they were beautiful, and I was not as glorious as they were at the time. So they left me, and I fared much better. At least, I think so." He smiles lightly.

Fly, how high could she fly? " I've never tried flying to high, but it seems like there have been some able to fly to the moon and back. I've been as far as some of the mountain tops, but it's rather cold and I prefer the warmth. I enjoy flying through the trees and sometimes I prefer walking to flying."
She then listened to what he had to say about kelpies and her expression was confused and she was in disbelief that they could be such creatures and then hearing he practically raised himself after being abandoned she almost felt a tear fall. "You don't seem like any of that to me and for your parents to have just....left well I can sympathize on a certain level there, but you are definitely better for it. You seem handsome and strong and very kind to me.You are much more glorious Im sure then they.", she said definitely smiling brightly.
