The shock hadn't quite left her yet, even thought it had been days.

While the newly-created Alunite rested, Fluorite had basically gone into overdrive - she'd had a good cry, then a lengthy panic session, but Kaia's support had finally managed to pull her into a more practical state of mind.

So things hadn't gone to plan. Time to adapt the plan.

She had learned that there were two corrupted senshi in the exact same situation than her brother - Vivianite, and Spinel. She hadn't been able to figure out where Vivianite tended to patrol, but Spinel... tended to be spotted around where her brother would be moving into in a few weeks ?

.....Hmmm.

This was her best bet, and now she was playing track-the-corrupted-senshi. Had the aura of a corrupted senshi not been so different than most, this might have taken her ages, but she was in luck - it was only a few hours in where she felt a very familiar aura come right in her range.

Bingo.

It didn't take her too long to find him - thankfully he didn't look too busy, but... The last of her large moka was glupped in and the container flew into the trashcan before she made a beeline for the other side of the park.

Fluorite was mostly running on caffeine and willpower.

"Ah, excuse me ? Spinel, right ?" She hoped, or she had just looked like a moron. "Do you have a few minutes ? I'd like to talk to you, if you don't mind."

It had been a very long night, he thought, and he hadn't really felt very much like patrolling since that encounter with the little purple Sailor Nothing. You were good once, huh? No, that had never been true. He had always been good, on the right side of the conflict. That little b*****d could be good if he'd just offer himself up to the Queen. Although maybe she wouldn't accept his assistance?...

The mental image of the Queen ripping a starseed out of a senshi's chest amused him for the moment it took for the little purple Negaverser to catch up to him. He turned his head to look at her--a lieutenant, if he guessed right. Tired, of course. They all were after that Blood Moon monstrosity. Hadn't most of them been running ragged trying to extract their revenge?

Spinel stopped walking, tucked his hands across his chest. The deep green starseed peeked out of the cracked chasm just under his collar. "Yes. I'm Spinel." No Sailor. He didn't want to be affiliated with those worthless--unforgivable--

"I was just finishing my patrol," he said, looking towards his apartment building. "But I have a few minutes for a Lieutenant of the Negaverse." After all, he didn't really have a rank, as much as he wished he was an officer. All she had to do was order him to have time, and the fact that she hadn't bought her his willing attention. He looked around--he didn't sense any senshi, but...

He nodded, satisfied. "What is it?"

It hadn't even occurred to Fluorite to simply order him around - much like it hadn't occurred to her to call him sailor. She hadn't even called Alkaid sailor - always just Alkaid. It just seemed the right thing to do - they were senshi, but also with them. She would respect any corrupted senshi or cat that came her way unless their actions made them unworthy of respect.

How should she ask this, through ? "This is a little complicated, but hopefully this'll make sense." She sighed. "My brother... was brought into the Negaverse a few days ago. Everything went fine, though... He isn't a lieutenant. He's... like you." She really hoped she wasn't being accidentally insulting, but it was the only way to put it. "I know a few others purified senshis... but the first was purified after her awakening, and the other likewise, and she's recently brought in herself. I can't ask this of her, not now." Ammolite really wasn't in the state to do something like this. She adored the girl, don't get her wrong, but she was still in the state of figuring herself out - she couldn't ask this of her.

"I was going to handle his training with my captain, but that was before we realized he was an unawakened senshi. So if you could... give him pointers ? Tips, maybe ? I've got Hiro with him already, but I don't think more help couldn't hurt... If you could, i'd really appreciate it, but I understand if you're too busy for something like this." Alunite wasn't Spinel's responsibility, after all. He was her's.

She seemed tentative, and he didn't quite understand why. Just spit it out, he wanted to say, but at the same time... she would probably say something completely unintelligible. So he waited it out, arms over his chest.

Brought into the Negaverse, yes. But why ask a Negaverse senshi--oh. His eyebrows rose, and it made sense, suddenly. She didn't want his help with a new lieutenant--she wanted his help with a new Negaverse senshi! Which he could do, but why hadn't they approached Vivianite? She was the senior of the two of them...

Deep breath. Who was Hiro? Ask later, he decided; it didn't sound like a mineral so maybe it was another senshi? No, unlikely. Cat? Possibly but the only one he'd ever heard of was Grendel--

"I'd like that," he said. "I assume you're his partner, then?" Spinel gestured with two fingers for her to follow him to a more secluded place; namely, closer to his home. "Really there's not all that much for purified senshi like us to do if we have an inactive partner, which, unfortunately... fits my description. So another duty wouldn't bother me."

Fluorite was all nervous energy, but that seamed to ease up slightly when Spinel worded his approval. "Oh, thank you !" She followed him gladly, only stopping when he did. This conversation was better taken somewhere where no one would walk on them. Especially not senshi. They could stand not to know about Alunite for awhile longer.

"Yes, I am." She nodded, but then looked thoughtful when he said that his own partner wasn't around. "Did something happen to your partner ?" She hoped not. They'd lost enough already... "I could go with you, sometimes, if you want ?" Two corrupted senshi auras together would draw in senshi like bees on honey, though that was a risk the two of them would have, as is. Maybe... Ack, no, that probably wouldn't work. Schee already had the one senshi on their team, right ? Hel ?

Spinel shook his head. "He's fine, he just... is indisposed, and has been for some time now." Also, he didn't want to be ordered around by someone he didn't know as a matter of course. Graphite had been ridiculous, but fair enough that he didn't carry out every single stupid idea.

If there wasn't the concern of their corrupted auras... He sighed. She seemed earnest. Definitely just a lieutenant, then; he knew only of one higher-ranking officer who was chipper, by word-of-mouth and name if not personal experience. He nodded, thoughtfully. If only he'd been brought in like Vivianite and this...

It occurred to him that he didn't know the lieutenant's name. Or her brother's name.

"You know me," he said after a moment, "But I'm afraid I don't recognize you?"

"Ah... wouldn't surprise me. I just did a lot of digging to figure out exactly who could help with this." Somehow, the dark rings under her eyes made sense, now. How long had it been since she'd slept ?

"Im am Fluorite." She didn't name her rank - either it was a complete oversight, or she felt it was obvious. "My brother is Alunite." Had Spinel heard anything about him yet ? Information could travel fast, but she wasn't really paying attention, so she hadn't been sure.

Most of the last few days were mostly Fluorite freaking out in her little bubble trying to make things work. Somehow.

The girl looked exhausted, and Spinel decided--quite without asking her--that it'd be best to wrap this up quickly. She probably needed to get home and sleep. Had she filled her energy quota? Nevermind, he could handle that if she hadn't...

He patted her shoulder, a little irritated by her height--how old was she? Couldn't be younger than fourteen, they never recruited anyone younger than that, but with her height he wouldn't be surprised if she was more like ten. Hopefully he was wrong. Spinel was fallible, after all. "It'll be fine," he said, "I'm perfectly willing to help." A pause, while he thought. Where could he meet up with another corrupted senshi?... The subspace seemed like a good option, but honestly he'd met with Vivianite before and hadn't been targeted.

"Do you see that building over there, the brick? If you tell your brother to meet me at the bottom of the fire escape on the east side Thursday, I'll be glad to help him out with what he needs to know."

It was probably a good thing that Fluorite couldn't read thoughts at this very moment. She would have informed him that she was almost seventeen, thank you very much. And that most of the world was too tall.

Actually, Spinel was way tall. She noticed this on her own suddenly, when she was shoulder-patted. Hm, holy crap, was half the negaverse giants ?

(Most of the negaverse would probably ask if half of the negaverse was made of midgets.)

But he was right on this one - Fluorite was tired, but in her frantic search to get things figured out, she hadn't even thought to stop.

She followed Spinel's glance to the building, and nodded. "I'll do that. Thank you." Hopefully he would feel better by then... through, really. Matthew was recovering quickly after the initial shock.

He reached into his sleeve--thankful for the long drape of them, the fact that they almost functioned as a pocket--and pulled out a glowing ball of energy. When he held it out, he felt a momentary twinge of regret. But the Lieutenant needed it, and he didn't want to be responsible for her death because she was too tired to pay attention. "Here," he said, "Take this. I don't know if you've met your quota or not, but you seem tired. Either way."

It was only polite to offer a hand where it was needed, anyway.

"My roommate will get worried if I'm not back soon," he said, "so I'd best be getting along. I'm glad to be of service, Lieutenant."

Fluorite did seem rather surprised when he pulled the small orb out of his sleeves - and almost refused it on principle. What about his own quota ?

....Did the corrupted senshi even have quotas to meet ? Clueless. Very clueless indeed. Her exhaution didn't help, either.

"I... Thank you." She accepted it carefully. "I'll bring you back another to make up for it... okay ? I should probably get going, too..."

Rest. Sleep. Return to Matthew's apartment to make sure he was alright, or... ? No, she would just start chasing shadows and mental demons again. She needed to go home, try to block what had happened, and sleep. Rest.

More than an hour of two.

With a small, tired smile, Fluorite was on her way - and right now, the tiny little glowing orb in her hand felt like a beacon of hope.
