Coeur woke up by her mothers nuzzling and soft tone. Today she was going to spend her time with the nannies so that her mother could go off and do whatever her mother did during the day. Coeur wasn't very sure what her mother did when she left her and her siblings with the nannies, but she assumed it was something REALLY important. Her pink eyes scanned the den in search of her daddy, however, he had already left for the day. How come they are always leaving? She thought as she walked behind her siblings and mother. She was the youngest of them, but not many could guess do to her overly protective nature of them.
When they finally arrived at the nannies den they told their mother goodbye and walked in. CUBS EVERYWHERE! Was all Coeur could think of. It seemed like there were more and more cubs everyday. How do they pop out of the snow so fast? She thought, looking over every cub. Her head tilted slightly as she noticed a white and yellow cub. She had never seen this cub before, although, it was hard to remember all of them since three new ones popped up everyday. Curiously she walked over to the cub. "Hewwo!" She said with a smile.
Astraia didn't like this place very much at all. How was she supposed to watch over her sisters with all of these cubs here? This place was so crowded that each time she found even one of her sisters, they just disappeared again. This place was almost like a living nitemare for someone as protective as she was. If only their mother would have let them go with, she could have easily watched over everyone in her family, but no it was something she said she had to do alone.
Then she remembered what a nanny had whispered in her ear, when she had entered this place "Try to Have fun." Fun but how ...? she thought quietly to herself. Then with a smile on her face she decided she would at least try to have fun. Maybe if she was having fun it would take her mind of protecting her family. So with that idea in her mind, she turned around and suddenly was greeted by another nice looking cub. "Oh hello there!" she said holding out her front paw happily.
Coeur returned the paw shake. "I'm Coeur . But you can just call me Coeur." She said, swishing her tail back and forth behind her. "Did your mommy abandon you here too?" Coeur asked honestly because that was how she felt. Sometimes she wondered if her mother left her and her siblings here so that she could go off and have fun with the other mommies or daddies. "Oh! What's your name?" Coeur asked, just not remembering that she had not asked before and the other girl cub had not told her.
Astraia gently shook the other cubs paw, "Well its nice to meet you Coeur, I'm Astraia." She smiled sweetly, since she had to admit it was good to know that the cubs her were nice. Maybe her sisters would be fine by themselves for awhile after all. She put her full attention on the other cub, when she heard the other cubs question. She gently nodded her head and replied, "I think my mommy just dropped us off, since she said she had to go do something and we couldn't come." She couldn't admit that she felt like her mother had abandoned them here, even if it was true in her mind. "What about your mommy? Did she abandon you here for some reason?" she asked curiously as she cocked her head to the right a bit.
Coeur nodded, "Nice to meet you Astraia!" She listened as the cub told her that her mother had simply dropped her off, or at least that is what she had thought. "Well my mommy said the same thing, but I think she left us here so she could go have fun with the other mommies and daddys." She said with a sigh. "But then again, my mommy doesn't seem to like doing that. So I'm not really sure." Coeur said truthfully. Coeur looked around and saw a couple of her siblings playing happily with the other cubs. After she was sure that none of them were going to get kidnapped she looked over at Astraia. "Is this your first time here?" She asked, unsure of what to say.
Astraia heard the other's thoughts on why she was here she nodded, "That actually does make sense." She began to try and picture her mom with other parents and laughed a little. "My moms like yours, I don't think she likes hanging out with other adults either," she said in return still giggling a bit. "Which is funny, cause I'd think everybody would want to have at least one friend here ...,"she said before realizing she had never really had a friend before. She was always to busy watching her family, and as she was taken away from her thoughts she quickly answered the other cubs question, "Oh yes it is, is it your first too?"
"Yes... Well.... I've been in here several times before with my mommy because she was trying to get us used to the den and the nannies." She said with a smile. "Would you like to play tag?" Coeur asked out of the blue. She wasn't sure what Astraia would say, but she thought she would ask anyways. "Oh! Do you have any other siblings here?" Coeur asked as she looked around the den to see if she spotted anymore cubs that looked like her new friend.
"Oh I see," Astraia replied with a nod. Part of her was hoping her mom wasn't doing the same thing, since she liked being with her family all the time. "...Tag..?" She said at first before continuing,"Sure I'd love to!" It had been ages since she had played that, it might be fun. Since the last time she had played that it was with her young sibling. "Siblings, um ... yah I have two. Though they are a lot dark in colors then I am," Astraia said as she took her left paw and tried to find her sisters in the crowd.
