"OH HEAAAAAAATHER!" The call was shortly followed by the slam of the front door shutting. Demy was home, no doubt about that. And with the HUGE grin on his face it could mean either with very -good- news, or very bad news...depending on how Heather felt like taking it.
"HEAAAAAAAATHER! Where are youuuu? I have stuff to ask!"
Oh s**t.

"I'm in my room Demy. What do you want?" the familiar voice called back from the other end of the building. There was a twinge of irritation. She was more than most likely trying to do her sculpting or practicing with her baton. The moments of solace were few and far between these days, and she enjoyed doing those things in her spare time.
As per usual, Demy had a keen habit of sensing when she was trying to relax, and just busting in like an unwelcomed rodent.
"This had better be good."

"Oh it's good alright! Be prepared to be PROUD of me Heather, so very proud!"
The boy wandered into her room, purposefully dragging out the moment. A huge grin crossed his features, and his hands were behind his back to conceal something.
"you ready Heather? Ready to be so so SO proud? It's gonna knock you on your a**, I swear. Ready? Hereeeeee you are!"
Here he brought his hands around and held the item out. It looked suspiciously like a....
....paycheck?

As it turned out, Heather had been sculpting, so when Demy burst into her room he was face to face with a woman who was up to her elbows in clay mess. She tilted her head to the side, her eyes glancing the boy over before settling on the cheque in his hand. Her lips pursed and her brow furrowed as she quickly went through a myriad of thoughts in her head.
When she came up with no sound reasoning, she turned back to what she was sculpting.
"Selling off your stuff are we? You know if you needed something bad enough you could have just asked. Though if you did I hope it was that Guitar Hero thing, it's awfully loud you know."

This...was not the praise he was expected. The grin faded (just a little!) as he tried to shove the check at her again.
"No, silly Heather! I didn't sell off things, and like hell I'm selling off Guitar Hero I LOVE that game! But no Heather, seriously, LOOK."
He gestured wildly at the paycheck, trying to get her to see.
Then he just said what it was to end the suspense already. "It's a paycheck, silly Heather! I got a job! Haven't you been wondering why I disappear for hours? I didn't want to tell you til I could surprise you with my first paycheck...so here it is!"

"Ohhhh, so that's why it's been so much quieter in the afternoons. Here I was just thinking you'd finally come down off the Rockstar high and passed out for a nap. Well, I guess this is better than that. Though I do think we're going to have to discuss getting you back into some sort of schooling next semester. Don't argue with me by the way, I'm not having the conversation right now and unless you want a face full of clay, I'd just smile and nod." she turned her face to his and gave a wry grin. Her eyes were closed and smiling but it was still hard to tell exactly how sarcastic the young woman was being. "I guess you're looking for some sort of verbal cookie, hmm? Well, I suppose." she eyed the cheque over and her mouth opened to speak, but she paused for a moment before throwing the boy a questioning look.
"Why exactly did you get a job anyways?" Lucky for Demy, she'd chosen to ignore the 'silly' that he'd been adding to her name.

"Ugh cmoooon Heather I'm doing other things, I don't wanna do schooool." Ew god -no-, he just wanted to be excited for his paycheck, damnit! Stupid school, ugh!
"Actually I'd prefer -real- cookies! And I got a job because....wellllll."
He fidgeted it around a moment, that grin growing once more as he pulled a small card out of his pocket and showed that to Heather as well. This?
...This was a learner's permit.
"I'm learning how to drive and thought I could save up money to....you know, when I get my real license and stuff! I can pick out some kind of awesome car and...it'll be great!"

"Cookies are in the kitchen, you know th-" She stopped. Her gaze drew quickly over to the license and for a moment she wondered who in their right mind would actually give him a learner's permit. Shaking her head she suddenly threw her arm up to her forehead, appearing rather faint.
"Oh, sad is the world. For now I will have to make due to walk everywhere. But alas, even the sidewalks will not be safe, you never know where lord and master Demy will decide to drive today. Be it the other side of the road, nay, the sidewalk! My hopes and dreams are dashed! DASHED I SAY! OOoOoooo!" she let herself fall back on her bed, twitching a bit, playing dead so to speak.

"HEAAAAATHER!" The boy whined, giving her his best pout and five year old footstomp. For all that he was trying to show how grown up he was becoming, the old Demy still shone through brightly.
"I'm not gonna drive on the sidewalk! I'm really learning man, cmooon give me a chance!"
He glared at her fallen form for a minute before doing the next best course of action. Jumping on her bed.
"CMOOON, you're suppoesd to be PROUD"

"Sorry. Can't be proud. Too busy being dead." she let out a death groan and twitched some more.
It was becoming difficult, however, to hide the grin on her face.

"HEATHER!" He leaned over her, shoving his frowning face right into hers.
"Cmoooon, I'm trying to be serious here!"

Well this was new. Heather was not accustomed to having faces shoved right into hers. Particularly faces with long freaking blond hair that was now right in her face.
Uh oh.
Her eyes popped open and she nearly crossed her eyes trying to focus in on the boys face. "Demy you may wa...aaa...aaaa....AAAAA CHOO!" her eyes squeezed shut as she was greatful to already be laying on her bed when that sneeze went off.

For the longest moment Demy just stared back at her, in complete and utter shock over what had just happened.
...And then he flipped out and jumped backwards off the bed. Which resulted in him falling on his a** and complaining loudly about it the entire time. "EWWWW HEATHER, WHAT THE HELL MAN?!" He busied himself with wiping a sleeve all over his face. "JUST UGH, UGHHH, here I am trying to tell you all the awesome stuff I've done and then you...ugh..EWWWW."
Once satisfied the -sneeze- was off his face, Demy folded his arms and sat on the floor. Pouting. Heavily.

Heather had stared back at the boy and when he went flailing backwards she couldn't help herself any longer. It started out as a quick chortle, but it was brief moments before his sister had her arms wrapped around her sides, practically gasping for breath as she laughed. Her sides began to ache, and after a minute or two she was finally able to gasp in enough air to let her brain come back to it's senses.
Wiping away the tears that had formed in the corners of her eyes, she grinned at the pouting boy. "Sorry Demy. I'll try not to let that happen again. I think I'm allergic to your hair, so for future reference you should likely keep it out of my face. You know. Just saying and all." her grin broadened.
"Anyways, I am... glad? No, that doesn't seem right. Proud I suppose, that you got your license. Though given with public transportation and all I don't know why you are in such a huge hurry to do so." she pulled herself to sit at the edge of the bed, poking at his leg with her toes (socks were not a common thing to catch her in. She believed in freedom for her tootsies! It may or may not have been a quiet rebellion of the massive heels she'd worn in competitions).
"You know me though, I'm going to picture worst case scenarios, you're gonna do it anyways, so whatever. I'm glad you got the part time job though, it's good to know you're not just crashing randomly in your room. "

"Maybe you're allergic to how awesome it is." The boy grumbled a bit, unfolding his arms so he could at least run a hand through his recently dyed bangs. Hell -yeah- they were awesome!
"Having your license is -normal- ...I'm a teenage boy Heather, we do things like drive cars. Public transportation is boring! I want a car someday, that I can do awesome things to and drive around town looking freaking cool. Maybe a cool paint job or something! I will be -careful- though..I want to learn how to drive right. Kay? I need lots of practice though!"
The boy huffed, trying to wipe the pout off his face and go back to his grinning. It didn't take too long...
"My job is AWESOME Heather, it's at the arcade! They hired me so quick after I said I was interested, it's the best job -ever-"
